“Well, I was born yesterday.”
Victor’s life has always been a little strange to the outside world and that strangeness has shaped him, tested him and made him who he is today. Growing up with three loving and rather intelligent parents, Victor was exposed to many things at a young age and was able to understand and openly accept things that other children wouldn’t usually be able to understand or respect from the ages of 3-7.
While his mother and father decided to divorce when Victor was only three years old, he didn’t mind and was only glad to know that both his beautiful mother, Tori Orisol and handsome father, Tommy Stone would be happier apart than they would together. And staying between the homes was just another thing for him to come to appreciate. However when Victor started school, he found himself alienated by those around him.
Parents of the children he had befriended never wanted little Victor Stone around. He wasn’t invited to very many birthday parties and after school, whenever Tommy would pick him up, Victor began to notice mankind’s cruelty and ignorance. At five, Victor was introduced to a man named Bryce Baldwin. So many people back then did not understand how a child could be raised by a gay man and his boyfriend and the soccer moms were always gossiping about Tori (the mother whose work often took her out of the country), saying that she had turned her ex-husband into a homosexual. But that wasn’t the case and they couldn’t seem to comprehend how Tori and Tommy were able to remain friends and how their son, Victor could possibly be a normal child because of what he had been exposed to. Sure, he was unusual. But only in the best of ways.
By the time he was fifteen, right before his sixteenth birthday, all three of his parents were out one night for dinner and drinks while Victor stayed at home with a couple of friends. However nobody had expected the night to end the way it did. At 12am, the scheduled program on the television was interrupted to broadcast a very unfortunate event. There had been a train crash with no survivors on either of the machines involved and of course, everything that Victor had, had been ripped from him. His mother, his father and his step-father. All gone in an instant. It was enough to break a kid. To push him to ruin his own life. To hate those around him. And to cry his young broken heart out. But he didn’t he couldn’t. Victor knew that his parents wouldn’t want to see their sweet boy turn into a monster and he definitely didn’t want that for himself.
A year and a bit after being in a foster home, after the accident, Victor Stone met a woman whose kindness was completely refreshing and after meeting for a few times, forming a bond, Victor found himself being adopted into the Cho family. With Helen never wanting to replace his parents but still caring greatly for him and the new brother, Ulysses, Victor was introduced to a whole new perspective and way of living. In his few years, Victor had become quite the sophisticated and talented young man. He got along with almost everyone he met from there on. His ability to respect and relate to others only boosting his kindness. At eighteen, Victor got a job locally as a social worker and was gladly assisting all kinds of people. His knowledge growing with his surrounds. Always a step ahead of the advances that the world began to make and completely charitable. Never asking for anything in return, despite being told that he deserved so much by those he assisted.
Unfortunately, of all the people Victor was able to bond with. He was unable to reach out to his adoptive and troubled, slightly younger brother. Victor often tried to stand up for Ulysses in school, trying to get others to treat him nicer and to stop calling him Ultron. But it was his attempts and kindness that ultimately put a wedge between the almost brothers. Victor began to struggle to understand Ulysses and along with Helen, began to worry greatly. While Victor was extremely optimistic about the world, Ulysses was pessimistic. They were unable to see eye to eye and while Victor still believed that Ulysses could be changed and guided away from the dark path he walked down, he wasn’t capable of getting through to him.
Now that he is twenty-five, Victor is planning on finishing his senior year in Ireland, majoring in astronomy, history and science, hoping to make his family dead and alive proud.
On multiple occasions for multiple things minor and major, Victor has had dreams (the day before) that loosely predict or symbolize what is going to happen the day after. Because of the fact, in high school he was nicknamed Vision.
