Gruesome Discovery in Flatbush: Man's Body Found in Apartment Refrigerator, Resident Detained on Unrelated Charges
Authorities reported the discovery of a deceased individual inside a refrigerator in an apartment located in Flatbush. The incident, which has left local residents in shock, occurred in a building at 2069 Nostrand Avenue. Currently, a person residing in the same apartment is being held by police on charges not directly related to this case.
The New York Police Department was performing a wellness check at the said address on Monday night when they made the gruesome discovery of a man’s body concealed within the refrigerator.
Local resident Nydia Gonzalez expressed her horror at the discovery, likening it to something out of a documentary or horror movie, particularly unsettling given its proximity to her home.
Fellow building occupants described the apartment, where a woman and her boyfriend resided, as notorious for suspicious activities. Tenant Eric Meres commented on the disarrayed state of the apartment.
While the identity of the deceased and the circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation, authorities have yet to release any specific details. The duration for which the body had been in the refrigerator is also unclear.
The medical examiner's office is currently conducting an investigation to ascertain the precise cause of death. As of now, no charges have been filed in connection with this incident.
