To celebrate the 25th anniversary of Klonoa, I am finally ready to reveal my big project for 2023.
'KLONOA: IRON EMPIRE': A fanfic series taking place 5 years after Lunatea's Veil.
Klonoa, now 18 y/o, is back in Lunatea, unfortunately it is in the middle of a robotic invasion. Now he, Lolo and Popka must venture throughout the Kingdoms once again to liberate them from the control of the cruel tyrant Garlen and his new partner, the Mad Scientist Lidoc!
Along the way they'll come across many faces, both returning and new, friends and foes. It won't just be a repeat of Lunatea's Veil, there will be new elements at play to make the experience feel both unique and nostalgic at the same time.
The tone of Iron Empire will be much darker than the other Klonoa games that preceeded, whilst still maintaining the charm of them. In the fic, all the characters have grown up (as well as the audience that grew up with em), so I want the tone to feel a bit more mature too.
This has been smth I've been working on over the past few months and I've been rly enjoying putting all the pieces together overtime.
The support I've had from my friends has been rly motivating me to keep pushing forward with it. You know who you are, thank you so much!
As the teaser poster suggests, I will start releasing chapters on Fanfiction.net and Archive of our Own sometime in 2023. Not sure when since I'm working on this in my own free time with no set schedule. However there is smth I wanna show soon before the year ends that relates to Iron Empire.
