In today's society technology plays a huge role in everyone’s life. Without having a smart phone most people wouldn’t be able to communicate, everyone is always posting everything going on in their lives on social media, Facebook, Snap chat, Instagram, Twitter etc. Having a landline phone is very rare anymore, people talking on the phone for long periods of time is something you don’t see a lot of either, most people text each other. April 3rd 1973 was the year the first cell phone was invented, 47 years cell phones have been around, they have gone from flip phones, to smart phones. Each year they are creating a new generation of Apple or Samsung phones. The growth in technology is everywhere, you go to Walmart and they have self checkouts so they don’t have to worry about cashiers, same with Sams club, Hy-vee, and Target. 47 years ago they used landline phones and had to call and tell someone the time and place of where they would be. Now days, we can just shoot a text and/or share our locations with each other so we know where each other are. Sharing your location can be very dangerous as people can hack into your phone and know exactly where you are and could get a hold of all your personal information. Putting personal information in your cell phone is not a smart thing to do, especially in today’s time. People all over the world are watching and you never know if a person is a serial killer or the most loving, caring person. Technology plays a big part in school districts as they now do a lot of their curriculum online and some school districts have laptops for the kids to use for the year. The change in society from now and 50 years ago is people today are glued to all the different options of technology and don’t want to spend time with their loves ones, they would rather be involved with their cell phones, or gaming systems, 50 years ago people would actually interact with family and friends as they did not have the technology as we do today. People need to realize technology is ruining the future and we should go back to the time were cell phones weren’t around. With “Find my friends” on apple Iphones you can see where the person is as long as sharing with out, its a good app to have and share with others, as you never know what can happen to you and at least someone could see where you are at all times and make sure you are where your suppose to be. Teaching my grandparents how to use a computer and cell phone is something fun and different to do and watch how they control them, in our day in age it comes natural to us as we are growing up with, we have a lot to learn about how the internet is and all the different gadgets we now have out. Social media is a huge part of today’s society it would be very hard to live without the amount of technology we have.
