âReally sorry man⌠life can be cruel.â He teased back again, smirking playfully. âAnd yeah, you know, thatâs actually why I choose this life of isolation⌠There was just too much demand for Theo.â He chuckled. âYou have no ideaâŚâ He joked.
âNot a bad plan you know, maybe I can get some funding that way.â He smirked, well he wasnât that desperate wasnât him? Not yet. Then again, maybe banking on his looks could make his life easier, but well⌠too easy perhaps, in a way that he felt he didnât exactly deserve.
âWill do man, will do.â He chuckled again. âYou will be the first one to know when I find one. Maybe you should give that thought a try too.â Â
âMaybe man.â He grinned, but it wasnât exactly easy to joke on the matter. Loss of his entire identity, a mess, he gulped. âDo you? I mean do you remember some skills or something maybe? I mean from your previous life. I mean language works and flirting, while maybe focused on the wrong target is still in order it seemsâŚâ He smiled. âPerhaps you can start with that.â He scratched his chin, yeah maybe. He had no idea though. Or perhaps⌠Well maybe he can try to dig into his mind himself. It was dangerous though and he would have to reveal that he wasnât human. Perhaps it was a bit too much wasnât it?
âDefinitely the main attraction of the town it seems.â Theo chuckled. âIâm honored that Iâm bringing notoriety to Beacon Hills then.â He added, playfully, but there was perhaps a hint of sadness in his words again. After all it was true, he had contributed to the town history and definitely not in a good way. A legacy of blood that he wanted to fix somehow. That was perhaps what kept him there. Trying to see if he could make the difference in some other way.
âYeah I guess⌠Well, sometimes it might be better for other people to stay away from me.â He lowered his eyes. âAnd Iâm not saying it to demotivate you or anything.â He shifted to playfulness again. âTreat it as a lucky exception.â
âYou must have a gift for that.â He teased. âAnd no problem man, itâs on the house, besides Iâm sure youâd help me out too if I was in trouble.â Yeah right, Caleb seemed like a nice guy. Although in Beacon Hills you never know, maybe in his past life he was a serial killer or something⌠But even if that was the case he wasnât now and thatâs what mattered, what had to matter. Yeah about Caleb. Not himself. Of course. Caleb.
âReally?â It must not have been exactly like the movie though, the guy seemed capable of forming new memories after all? At least from what he had said. âWell Iâm not Adamn Sandler Iâm sorry man⌠Gotta make do with what you have right?â He chuckled, besides Sandlerâs character was pretty shifty in that movie, as far as he was concerned, so maybe Caleb was lucky that Theoâs approach was different.
The young man just glared at Caleb. Nop, not going to happen.
âThanks man.â He let him take the bundle of clothes, it made sense, the dryer he got before he slipped back into his pants the better. âAnd Iâm sure you wouldnât get far anyway.â He boasted.
Leaving Caleb alone for a moment, the young man went back into his tent, to grab a change of clothes. âTry not to lit the whole forest though? I mean I like it the way it is.â He shouted from within.
When he got back, hopefully not in front of a wildfire. Theo was clad only in a pair of boxer briefs. He finished thoroughly drying himself up with the towel, uncaring if he was giving Caleb a bit more of eye candy, but not exactly disturbed by the idea.
âNow I think Iâd like my jeans back.â He asked shortly thereafter, while hanging the towel on a tree branch. âAnd no cheeky remark this time.â He added, his tone though was playful.
âHope you like deer⌠I mean thatâs all there is on the menu⌠soâŚâ He added, while he went behind his tent, to grab the meat that he had smoked after the first successful hunting lesson with Malia. One performed with fangs and claws rather than guns and dogs, but Caleb didnât need to know that, for now at least.
âItâs not all bad, thereâs some good here and there, just gotta keep your eye out for emâ.â Caleb shrugged, believing that yeah life could be shit but it could also be great if you let it. Even if his current situation proved to be more of the former than the latter. âDamn, am I in the presence of a celebrity?â he teased.
âJust gotta shine your award winning smile and the money will just rain down on you,â Caleb smirked, the easy banter between them somewhat relaxing, helping his mind calm down for a second. He wondered if he could get by that way, but he doubted that there was a rich man just waiting to shower him with things for nothing in return.
âJust make sure to remember the little people and to always buy your good buddy Caleb some really nice food,â he chuckled. âMe? Donât think Iâve got the looks for that, unless thereâs sugar daddy with a specific kink for amnesiacs.â
âShut up!â Caleb said, laughing at Theoâs relentless teasing of him. âI donât know, I feel like itâs mostly just my body remembering how to do things rather than me. Like all of those skills are ingrained inside me, I just donât know how I learned them. Iâm pretty sure I know how to do most things, I guess? I havenât really given it much thought, and hey maybe Iâm just practicing flirting with you since youâre an easy target that wonât reciprocate meaning thereâs nothing to worry about there. Point me in the direction of someone though, and weâll see if my natural charms work at all.â he grinned.
âI almost called you the carnival ride of the town, but that just seems like a very odd comparison. So maybe people are just here to watch the sometimes naked pond boy who likes to be in the woods. Not like there hasnât been stranger stuff in the world, I assume.â There was much of the townâs history he didnât know, but Caleb was unsure if uncovering the hidden secrets of beacon would somehow help him discover his own.
âYouâve got really sad eyes you know that?â Caleb said without skipping a beat. âItâs the first thing I noticed about you, that thereâs sadness behind your eyes, covered by that cocky smirk and the way you carry yourself. But whatever it is thatâs making you sad, itâs in the past, and your new friend Caleb is totally the future,â
âMaybe, I would have to figure out how to help you after all, otherwise Iâd be pretty useless.â he laughed. âPretty lucky that youâre not Adam Sandler, donât know how many bad jokes I could take before my eyes keep rolling non stop. So yeah, I guess Iâm pretty lucky. Iâd say thatâs my special superpower, luck, but then again I did lose my memories so it wouldnât really make all that much sense. â
Caleb laughed at the glare, knowing that he was fully teasing.
âDonât try to make this into a bet, because Iâve got nothing to bet against so Iâd lose regardless.â He giggled. âAnyway, not that it would do me good to run with these clothes, youâre like twice my size so it wouldnât do me good to take your stuff.â
As he set the clothes aside for a moment and tried to figure out the fire, the image of flames came once more, with a strange symbol that called to him. Caleb was entranced as his finger copied the symbol on the dirt, and with some muttering a spark lit up before he came back to reality. He looked pretty shocked for a moment, not remembering how he started the flame, but he guessed he must have achieved it somehow.
Looking back at Theo, he got another eyeful and found himself looking away, cheeks profoundly red as he cleared his throat. âHere,â he said as he handed him the pair. âyes honey?â he teased, knowing the deer wasnât meant for him. âI mean I wouldnât know if Iâve tried it or not if Iâm being honest.â
