i really really really love the idea of eridians hearing absolutely everything in a human body and being able to predict an episode of something, similarly to how medical alert service dogs can
"Grace feel okay, question?" Rocky asked, soothing a hand along Grace's forehead to fix the hair that had gotten stuck to his temple while he was seizing.
He cleared his throat. "Not a hundred percent, but I'm alright."
Rocky hummed softly. He works with Armando to give the man a full checkup before even considering letting him up.
But Grace knows Rocky by now. He gives him that look that he knows works very effectively against the Eridian. "What's bothering you?"
"...Rocky feels useless when Grace seize. Count, make sure you no hit head, no choke, no bite..."
He smiled, a lopsided thing. "Well, you've never let my worst case scenario happen. Haven't even gotten close since I met you."
"Worst case, question?"
He nodded, returning the petting gesture subconsciously. "My absolute worst incident happened just after I got my doctorate. We were at a party, I was...honestly I don't remember. Maybe karaoke? Doesn't matter."
Grace took a moment. "The way my friends tell it, I just...collapsed. Knocked over the projector screen. It was so loud I alerted the staff. Which was good, because my friends didn't know what to do. Or, they did...but they froze. First time seeing one can be really hard for people."
Rocky sounds horrified.
"Thankfully one of the workers was the daughter of a nurse. She got me on my side, told them to stop staring and go use the office to call 911- cellphones weren't as common back then...or very useful. And got me recovering when I came to."
He pulled back the slight mop of his hair. "This scar was from me hitting something during it. Bled everywhere."
"Thinking machine say head wounds bleed big time."
Grace chuckled. "Yeah. But hey, I've never fallen once you recognized what was happening. Even with gravity. And you're the best recovery buddy I could ever ask for. So it might not feel like you're doing anything, but you're doing a whole awful lot for me."
Rocky trilled gently. "...Rocky do best can."
"And you don't take pictures like one of my old roommates did."
"...Name."
That, dear reader, was the tone Rocky's song gained when he was threatening someone. Best not to tell, just in case he finds a way back to Earth and takes vengeance on his ancestors.

based on the first time I ever saw someone seize in person. We were doing a crit in art school, he went down next to me, knocked over his easel. Thankfully myself and another classmate were actually able to stay calm, especially with her being a long time lifeguard. We actually did have to chastise our classmates for not immediately calling 911.
Not included, having to try and beg our professor to give us her chair pillow to give a barrier between him and the floor. (She refused, I think we used a jacket eventually) Also that building had no elevator so they had to strap him to a body board to go to the hospital to get checked out and carry him down two flights of stairs.
Seizures are scary! They're not at all like they show on TV.
My father would have seizures that were not grand mals due to a treatment he was getting for a medical condition (since treatment ended, he no longer has seizures). And those were surreal enough. But the first time I saw a grand mal, I was twelve and it was my dog lol
I completely panicked, had no idea what was happening or what to do. My dad walked me through it, we got my goodest girl on medication, and she largely grew out of them.
The first time I saw a human have a grand mal, it was during a college course. One of my classmates had a boyfriend who drove her to and from places. Apparently, he had epilepsy, but she had never witnessed one of his seizures before.
He collapsed after we turned off the lights to view a video clip. Everyone froze. Then myself and a retired nurse took over. We moved him away from the furniture. He had bit his tongue when he collapsed, so I went out to get paper towels to clean up the blood (for some reason, our classroom didn't have a first aid kit, and that still pisses me off), while the nurse got sweaters from our classmates to cushion his head.
By the time I came running back, the seizing had stopped but he hadn't come to yet. I remember cleaning up his face while calling his name and asking him basic questions to help him come out of it.
Once he was somewhat lucid, I left him with the nurse and sat with his girlfriend. A few of our classmates had kept her calm, but I was intent on giving her a quick Seizure 101. It was almost comedic, how she perked up and became so serious. I remember she wrote down the stuff the nurse and I said.
Suffice to say, class was over after that. Another classmate drove them home.
