i love dnd and I love Shu, so ofc when I saw @soaringsummerbird post about tiefling!Shu I knew I must do what I was put on this earth for, drawing fanart for Shu obviously, thank you to OP for the inspiration! It’s just a quick sketch of the idea nothing too wild but I did enjoy using the charcoal texture brushes, hope you like it! I think Shu would be a bard honestly not just because he’s an idol but because she would just love still making art while playing her dnd character, and I think she’d be a tiefling to match with Mika! I kind of want to draw tiefling Mika next I think he’d be a rogue lol but idk if I’ll get to it

I’m writing another fanfic about my beloved bingus Shu Itsuki except this time I’m not just writing about the Autism I’m writing about the genderqueer femme Shu experience~

if you have any suggestions for headcannons/canon info about writing genderqueer transfemme Shu please let me know I wanna do Shu justice :3

for context the fic is roughly about Shu wearing a dress (not a feminine costume silhouette for Valkyrie just straight up as casual a dress that Shu would wear) and the mixed feelings surrounding trying it on. But I’m lowkey struggling to think of a reasonable suspension of disbelief as to WHY Shu would wear a dress when he’s got all the gender shenanigans mess to work through. Writing is so hard I just want my blorbo to wear a pretty dress is that so wrong?

I didn’t have any motivation to make something technically challenging so I just went for evoking emotion instead. I would say this art is about bi-gender/transfemme Shu, it’s really up to you how you interpret it I think my idea was the feeling when you look in a mirror and you don’t like what you see but you can’t quite place what’s wrong, you just know that you don’t feel good about yourself. Maybe Shu was doing make-up (with the bold lip style) and it felt “off” idk.

Shu is kind of radiating pink “femininity” but the pink is constrained by blue “masculinity” throughout the art such as in the background and line work. I might revisit this concept again with different compositions but who knows

shu itsuki is such a character. npd. autistic. queer but especially transgender themes in her story. beautiful narrative about hurting the people you love and trying to learn and grow from that for the sake of being better to those you love. french weaboo. laughs like a bird. even more beautiful narrative about humanity and the unique ability to create art and those that find comfort in art when they are hurt and ostracized by the world (often for not conforming to the ideal/norm expected by society) and acknowledging how flawed and terrible humans can be and loving humanity regardless and learning to be okay with being human and all the flaws and fleeting beauty that comes with it. tsundere. canon system with a doll alter. and he’s even pink.

I felt like such a Shu kinnie today because I went all the way to go see a haute couture fashion art exhibit and I was SO EXCITED TO SEE THE DOLLS!! They were so cute and beautiful and I feel like Shu would love this exhibit and I was thinking about him the whole time and what she might say about the pieces it was so fun!!! I should have brought my HANDMADE NUI OF SHU to take pictures why didn’t I think about that smh my head well anyways enjoy the dolls I literally felt like the one card of her when she sounded like an owl cause he was so happy to see his special interest lmao
