Uhhhhh yeah that’s all i got gonna throw this to the wolves (you) and work on my own shit for a bit while my body recovers from issues.
So the show is utterly mischaracterising most of the characters, but here are a few of the most egregious examples.
Book Percy: Kid with unmedicated ADHD who doesn't always keep his mouth shut; almost always has a witty comment prepared; not a Greek Myth expert but observant, intelligent, and cunning enough to make up for it; a highly opinionated teenager who often clashes with the people around him.
Show Percy: Annabeth's booktok dark romance boyfriend who is utterly obsessed with her and would never ever ever go against her in anything; dour and broody; a fucking encyclopedia of Greek Myth.
Book Annabeth: Intelligent and tactical but also often irrational and emotional; seems mature but has a childish side; also a highly opinionated teenager who often clashes with the people around her.
Show Annabeth: An absolute paragon of wisdom with no irrationality or adverse emotion to be found; a flawless badass who can do no wrong.
Book Grover: An awkward, anxious, downtrodden guy with low self-esteem who slowly learns to have faith in himself; usually the voice of peace between Percabeth's clashing natures.
Show Grover: Confident and bold; just as, if not more, sharp and witty as the rest of the trio.
And a bonus one that I haven't really seen anyone mention:
Book Dionysus: An irascible lout who shows utter contempt for Camp and everyone in it (this may be something of a façade but it's somewhat ambiguous); has a real vendetta against heroes and heroism; generally resentful and apathetic, with something of a sadistic streak, and entirely willing to flex his vast power.
Show Dionysus: Basically just Jason Mantzoukas playing himself; just kind of a silly guy who plays silly jokes; zero real threat felt from him.

Happy Valentines day! Think of Percy and Annabeth going on a date to build a bear in their early twenties to make one for the first time. Percy couldn’t afford one while growing up and Annabeth was at camp for her childhood. So now they both have jobs and can finally get one and they are holding hands and carrying their teddy bears back to their home.

The thing i love about how percy can be and is drawn as poc or white, black hair or blonde, green eyes or blue, is that you can still tell its percy jackson becuase of the swag emmiting from the fan art alone.
