Now that right there is the mail. Let's talk about the mail. Can we talk about the mail, please, Mac? I've been dying to talk about the mail with you all day, OK? "Pepe Silvia," this name keeps coming up over and over again. Every day Pepe's mail keeps getting sent back to me. Pepe Silvia! Pepe Silvia! I look in the mail, and this whole box is Pepe Silvia! So I say to myself, "I gotta find this guy! I gotta go up to his office and put his mail in the guy's goddamn hands! Otherwise, he's never going to get it and he's going to keep coming back down here." So I go up to Pepe's office and what do I find out, Mac? What do I find out?! There is no Pepe Silvia. The man does not exist, okay? So I decide, "Ohhhh shit, buddy, I gotta dig a little deeper." There's no Pepe Silvia? You gotta be kidding me! I got boxes full of Pepe! All right. So I start marchin' my way down to Carol in HR and I knock on her door and I say, "Caroooool! Carooool! I gotta talk to you about Pepe!" And when I open the door what do I find? There's not a single goddamn desk in that office! There is...no...Carol in HR. Mac, half the employees in this building have been made up. This office is a goddamn ghost town.

I think New York is my favorite place in the universe so far! Everything here is always so lively, and I’ve managed to accumulate so many new things. My first week here I found a bicycle someone was giving away for free! It’s a little small for me but that’s okay, I still love it. I also love the libraries! There are so many, and they’re all so different. I’ve forgotten how cool computers are, it’s exciting to be on one again. Maybe I’ll get lucky again and manage to get my hands on a laptop one day. So many people have them, I’m sure the perfect one is out there for me too– somewhere in this big, big city.

Somewhere in this big big city? It’s called Best Buy, and they take credit cards.

“Beep beep! Hungry dude coming through! He hasn’t eaten since breakfast, so get outta his way!” Liam exclaimed as he weaved between people on his skateboard. “Please!” he added as an afterthought, because manners were very important, and his mother would be disappointed if he forgot them. He was sure that a couple of people had answered him back, but he couldn’t hear them over the growls of his rumbling stomach. 

He could see the Taco Bell sign getting nearer, and he felt like a dog that was salivating at the mouth. Food. Sweet, sweet food was going to be within his reach in the next few minutes. Or so he thought. “CRAP!” he yelled, feeling himself losing balance on his board as he swerved to avoid a speeding, small child. 

Landing on the ground was inevitable, but he didn’t think it was going to hurt so much. “Oh Mylanta! Oh, this hurts!” he cried out, hugging knee to his chest as he watched his board roll off into the distance. “My board!” he yelled sadly, feeling like his day couldn’t get any worse. His knee was scraped, and so were the heels of his hands. And he still hadn’t eaten.

“Get out of the way,” Cameron said as he stepped over the fallen skateboarder and continued on his way without giving it a second thought.

Rory furrowed her brow andtook a cautious step forward. Devone was up to something: he was always up to something, but whether ornot this had anything to do with it—there was no way to tell. So she crossed thepark in haste, jogging lightly towards the source of the sound both curious and concerned. Was it safe to morph in a place like this? Where all the bushes and trees could be shielding any civilians just passing by? Furthermore, could she evenhandle a battle alone? Yes, shethought. She’d been training for this, but did she want to? That was another story.

She’d only been running ashort while when she stopped, stepping into the path of a young man a few yardsaway. “Oh, it’s you,” she breathed, both surprised and grateful. Throwing down in themiddle of Central Park was not something she yearned to do; they had destroyedenough buildings without taking out one of the few pieces of nature left inthe city. “Hello,” she greeted with a small wave. “I thought you were a monster.” The words tumbled out before she could stop them, and she immediatelyflushed at the admission. “It’s a good thing you’re not though, cuz I was running the wrong way. Rookiemistake.” She shook her head, offering a meek grin. She was rambling, but once she started, she could never stop. “I’m sorta new here. Wedon’t have those back home. The monsters, I mean—but I like your hair! It looks like a bird’s nest, but better because there’s no poop…I hope.” Finally, she paused and looked sheepishly to the ground while taking a breath to collect her bearings. When she looked back up, she said, “I’m Rory. What’s your name?”

Hearing the ‘Oh, it’s you’ as the strange blonde drug addict approached, Cameron for the first time in his life, wished there was someone else around. Surely she couldn’t be speaking to him, as he’d never seen the girl before in his life. Looking over his shoulder as she stopped in front of him, he was dismayed to see that it was in fact with that she’d been speaking to. As she went on talking about monster poop or whatever it was she was saying, he tried to step around her and simply walk away. “Look, lady, I ain’t your dealer or whoever you’re looking for. Go ramble this crazy at them.” Trying again to step around the woman without setting her on some sort of drug fueled attack, Cameron adjusted his bag on his shoulders. “My name’s Banksy,” he lied as he didn’t want this woman to know even his first name. The less she knew about him, the better. “And I’ve got to go graffiti some art on stuff now. See you around.”

“Some people do, and the people that use it are either really drunk; Which I am not, extremely cocky; I can be at times, or they are trying to get inside your mind; which is a very good possibility I am.” She said with a smirk as she looked over at the male sitting next to her. Kayden was good at reading others. It’s something she prided herself on. Even though she was drinking and with most people, their good judgment went with each drink they had. But, that rarely happened to her. Kayden would still able to tell what someone was after. Yes, the alcohol sometimes affected her judgment. She wasn’t perfected. But, no one else had to know that. Not if you know how to play the game.

Kayden watched as the guy orders his drink.  Besides him having a really nice head of hair he did seem confident. Confidence was something that Kayden had respect. Even though she found that when someone was overly confident they were hiding something. Yet, this guys wasn’t. Kayden let herself look him over, to see if she could spot anything that was off. “Let me guess, could it be; leave me alone or get lost?” She asked before she took another sip of her drink.

Cameron took in her words and was surprised that she hadn’t reacted in anger or even annoyance. There weren’t many people that he’d come across that seemed to spell things out the way that she did, and though he’d just met her, he had a feeling that they’d be able to help each other out. He wanted in on whatever was going on in New York, and he was positive she was on the inside. Nothing that big went down without a lot of money flying around, and Cameron was looking to find a way to his share. Seeing how methodical she was is casual conversation gave him great hope to how she was in business. “No, I’m an Aquarius,” he offered up with a little humor as he became more interested in their conversation. “Finding what you’re looking for in my mind?” He took a drink of his beer and set it down on the bar in front of him. He didn’t really care for the taste, but though he’d never admit it, he liked to fit in. “It can be a pretty scary place in there.”

Rory wandered around the park, gazing at the sea of green and trying to find something—anything—she recognized. “This would be so much easier if I could teleport,” she grumbled to herself, not loud enough for anyone to hear but enough to voice her frustration. She could kick up the speed of course, but Tommy and Kat had warned her several, several, times about using her powers for personal gain; if she wanted to be a good ranger, she had to use them when necessary and nothing more. And Rory wanted to be a good ranger… especially now.

Eury’s absence had affected them all. How could it not? They were down a teammate, a leader, and a friend, but Rory remained supportive of her ventures, knowing that she needed time to deal. Instead of dismay, Rory felt only the urge to train harder, grow stronger, and become the ranger Eury would be proud of—which is precisely how she wound up here, lost in this magical, never-ending, forest known as Central Park.

She groaned. The weather had finally turned into something that resembled close to spring, and of course she’d spend it stuck in the woods. This is exactly why she loathed running—at least normally. Still, she did it often now. Shirt clinging to her back, sweat dripped down her forehead and she stopped to wipe it away with her sleeve. “Seriously?” She chastised herself. “Nothing? Everything looks the forking same…” She was just about to set off again when suddenly, a twig snapped from behind her. Whirling around, her body tensed as she clenched her fist on impulse and braced her body for battle.  “Hello? Mr. Unicorn?” She asked—hopeful, curious. She lifted her chin, stretching to see if she could make anything out. Everything was green. She tried again. “Mrs. Unicorn? You can come out now. Actually, I’d love a ride home if you’re up to it.” 

There was little Cameron hated more in the world than nature. Being out in it, smelling it, having people around enjoying it, there was nothing good that came from it as far as he was concerned. The space could be much better used by bulldozing the whole thing and putting up some more sky scrapers. If he wanted to hang out among the trees and bushes, he’d have never left Texas. This was New York. He was supposed to be free all this greenery, but every day he was forced to take a shortcut through Central Park to get back to his apartment. If he could get around it, he would, but it just so happened that the only other thing that Cameron hated more than nature was exercise, (so he wasn’t about to walk around), and riding in vehicles with strangers (small talk with Uber drivers had to be considered cruel and unusual punishment.) Until teleporting became a real and common thing, Central Park it was. 

Making his way home and out of the sunshine as quickly as possible, Cameron tried to avoid eye contact and think about what he needed to get done that afternoon. With any lucky he’d finally crack the encryption that had been besting him the past few days. It only made him more determined to figure it out. ‘Oh great just what I need, some cracked out meth head looking to give out handies for a buck,’ Cameron thought to himself as he heard someone talking about riding unicorns or something. “I hate everyone,” he mumbled to himself as he walked faster.

Kayden was sitting at the bar smalling as she sipped on her drink. These past six months have been pretty good to her. Devone has decided to teach her a few things about cybernetics and biocybernetics. Of course, she is a quick study. So, taking what he has shown her and putting it to the test by creating a few new creatures for the rangers to play with. Has proven to Devone that he is right in trusting her more than his own daughter. The next sip of her drink tastes a bit sour as she thinks of that girl. The monsters Syria has been creating seem to be lacking. It’s like she isn’t even trying, and whenever that girl fails. It doesn’t end well for her. There is just something off about that girl. She can feel the hatred and anger raiding off of Devone everytime they are in a room together. Syria has so much potential and she is wasting it. Oh, well Syria’s loss is her gain. Kayden wonders how long it will take for her to realize she has been replaced. By a human no less. 

Smiling as she sets her glass down. She wonders how long it will take before Devone has earth at his mercy. Yes, these six months have been pretty good. Even though they have taken a few hits here and there. But, everything feels like it is slowly falling into place for them. She knows Devone is planning something big. But, until he calls her she might as well have some fun. Looking over at the bar stool next to her. Kayden smiles brightly “Hey, there stranger. You come here often?”

“Do people actually use that line?” Cameron asked as he turned on his bar stool to face the brunette who’d spoken to him. If he’d done his research right, and he was positive that he had, this was exactly the person he’d shown up in hopes of finding. Not wanting to tip his hand and let her knew what he was up to, he turned his attention to the bartender and waved him down like he’d done it a thousand times before. Getting away with things, in this case underage drinking, was all about confidence, and he had that in spades. Act like you belong, and people thought you did. “Gimme whatever’s on tap,” he told the guy before turning back to the girl. Just looking at her, it was hard to believe she was the same person responsible for the city wide blackout six months ago. She seemed so normal. It was sort of blowing his mind. “You should ask me my sign next.”
