Cameron shrugged. “If you say so.”

“It is what it is.” Shawn sighed, flicking his eyes up as the other boy neared. “What happened?”

Cameron sighed. “I was shunted off to a new foster home and my sisters are getting adopted.”

shawnnorman‌:

“Awfully presumptuous of you.” He drawled, although the usual bite was gone from his words, and he felt the edges of his lips twitch.

“I suppose so,” said Cameron, smiling.

Sutton paused for a moment, she hadn’t heard him playing so she thought he might not be there. But he was and he was in a bad mood. Sutty let out the breath she’d held at his tone in a sigh as she pushed her feet forward. “You’re in a mood.” She commented, going toward the record player. “I was actually coming in to listen to something. Since I didn’t hear you in here.”

Cameron glared in her direction. “In a mood?”

Willow frowned and got up from the floor where she was kneeling. “A large gray cat with brown eyes? Are you sure?”

“I haven’t seen any cats. So, yes, I’m sure.”

“When did you become so optimistic?”

“Do teachers actually fall for that?”

“Oh,” Jordan pursed his lips before waving Cameron’s concern off. “Well, never mind that. We can officially start now. Clean slate. From here on out, it’s gonna be a great year, okay?” 

Cameron rolled his eyes. “Neither of us can promise that.”

Cameron sat at the piano, but didn’t play. He just sat there glaring at the wall when he heard the door open. He didn’t have to turn to know who it was. “I’m not in the mood.”
