"I will literally pay you to grade those for me," Cassie commented, pointedly ignoring the stack of ungraded essays. "My brain cannot comprehend that stupidity that is currently my third years."

“Not a chance. I hate paperwork. That’s exactly why the only class i’ll teach is Flying. No paperwork.” Ginny leaned against the others desk. “Why don’t you get an intern to grade them? There’s got to be some OWL student who wants the extra credit.”

“So you’re having some bad dreams?” Phoebe looked up at the person as she doodled on her notebook. “Are you sure they aren’t just stress dreams? I mean I can interpret them for you but it might just be nonsense.”

Hearing her voice, his eyes flew open but he didn’t dare look in her direction. It was like he could feel his heart in his stomach. The whole reason he’d broke up with her was to protect her from this kind of situation. He tried to find the words but there were none to express what he felt. Instead he just looked at the ground for a few moments before it came out involuntarily. “Désolé.”

The familiar french almost increased her sadness. She hadn’t heard it in so long. “You have nothing to apologize for.” Phoebe took a deep breath and stepped in fully. “I’m just glad you’re ok.”

“Your parents would just find someone more annoying.” Tobias said offhandedly, taking a sip of his drink before looking over. “Oh did you want me to be more empathetic? Uh..” He patted his friends shoulder. “I’m sure it’ll get better? But wait, what did she do this time?”

“Yeah, they really would.” Fletcher sighed. “No, I want you to commit murder with me. I don’t care about that empathetic crap, please.” He took another long sip of his drink. “What if I faked my death?” The others question finally registered. “She finally moved in all her stuff and it looks atrocious. It’s official now, she lives with me.”

“Honestly, i’m considering murder. I think my house elf will help me cover it up, but he kind of likes her so he might have an attitude about it.” He set his drink down on the bar and raised his hand for another. “Seriously, I can’t live like this.”

Fletcher walked into his house with a tired body and a large headache. That headache grew as he stared at the bright pink corner in his foyer glaring at him. Grippy apparated at his side and bowed. “Is Master still glaring at inanimate objects?”

“It’s hideous.” He said loud enough for his fiance to hear from wherever she was. It was his favorite way of informing her he was home.

Xander didn’t even open his eyes when he heard footsteps, pointedly sighing with irritation. “If you’re a visitor, wrong room. If you’re a healer or nurse, no you can’t have more blood, get lost.”

Phoebe leaned on the door, unable to come into the room yet. “What if it’s just a friend?” It had been almost a week but she still couldn’t get the image of his body lying on the floor out of her mind. He was moving, she told herself. He’s moving, it’s ok.

“Well, it is newsworthy enough that you came to disrupt my yoga to tell me that,” Marcie chuckled and grabbed her water bottle. “So, what’s next for Miss Perez?” she asked. 

“Now, that is yet to be decided.”She sighed. “Ive got enough saved to float for a while but it makes me anxious. So, really I guess I disrupted your yoga for career help.” She winced, “Which is even worse. Sorry.”

“Shut up!” Marcie gasped as she looked at the other. “You can’t just tell me things like that when I’m trying to concentrate!” she added as she threw her towel at them.

“I guess it all depends on what you consider concentrating.” Lina laughed, “Besides I didn’t think me changing careers was that newsworthy.”

“If that guy tries to hit on me one more time, you’re going to have to be my metaphorical getaway car after I hex him,” she looked at the other. “I’m completely serious.”

Lina smiled softly, “Sure. I would love to, honestly.” She knew she had a babysitter and a baby to get home too but the idea of taking just an hour to herself was all too pleasing. “Where should we go? Somewhere nice and open. It’s such a nice evening.”

“Oh trust me, there’s nothing accidental there,” Marcie said with a laugh and took a sip of her soda. “He knows what he’s doing – he changes himself into some weird shit whenever he wants attention,” she added. “Anyway, how’s the birthday party planning going?”

“Oh, I love that for you.” Lina laughed. “At least you’re getting a hard stomach. Nothing is going to scare you now.” Lina rolled her eyes when she asked, “Don’t get me started. I’m not excited. I’ve got no time and no ideas. I even went so far as to track Gabe down to help me.”

“I’ve been doing it so long it’s basically just a habit these days.” YJ said with a shrug, he shook his head. “My mom actually tried to keep me away from it as long as she could, plus my dad’s side of the family is all muggle so it was always soccer when the family gathered but once I was at Hogwarts it was basically all I did.”

“Ahh, soccer. I tried that with this little babe, and she hated it. Threw the ball at me, actually.” Lina laughed. “Her magic hasn’t come in yet so I’ve been trying a whole bunch of activities to see what she likes. It’s cool that you found your ‘thing’ though. That makes you keep waking up in the morning.”

That was the whole reason my mother-in-law moved into our guest house.” He let out a breath and looked at her, realizing for the first time that all three of their daughters’ birthdays were back-to-back the next few months. “But yeah, fine. What were you thinking?”

“It still stands.” Lina said with a sigh. “I know you aren’t expecting me to do this all on my own, so let’s go. What are you thinking? Marisol has been very into animals lately, so i was thinking magizoology themed? Maybe even at like a center and do like a feeding/petting thing, with the safe ones, obviously.”

He opened the door to his office, letting out a breath when he saw the other already waiting for him inside. “I feel like whatever this is, it’s going to be a no or something I don’t want to deal with before ten in the morning.”

“Sucks. It can’t be a no. I babysit for you too much. Plus, we only a few months left and I’m not letting my daughter’s first birthday go un-noticed, so,” She snapped her fingers, “Come in, sit down, get some coffee. We’re party planning.”
