Issues - Cami x Blake
The engagement had been weighing heavily on Camila’s mind. While it could have been worse and Blake was the sweetest human being she’d ever has the pleasure to know, she also knew things were going to be difficult between the pair. Now, it wasn’t that they didn’t love each other. They did but the way friends love each other. She’d never imagined one day she would walk down the isle with him in a long white dress while pretty harp music played behind it. It was hard to comprehend and even worse when she realised that they’d both been struggling mentally. While she never explicitly told him that her eating disorder had come back, Camila was aware that Blake knew more than she was letting on and vice versa. She’d seen him at his lowest point and she could see that he was quickly going back there. She didn’t know if it was because of her or if other factors were coming into play but she hated that he was going through such a tough time. If she could magically fix him then she would but for now, she would just try and occupy his thought with as much positivity as she could. Since they were now engaged, they’d been spending time together, going on ‘dates’ of sorts and today was no exception. Only thing that was different was instead of a planned actively, Cami had taken it upon herself to arrange this date. Of sorts.
If they didn’t pause to look around then everything was going to get on top of them very quickly. The world seemed to be spinning so fast. It felt like going on a rollercoaster and mot being able to get off it. Since they travelled to Italy, everything had changed which had been full speed ahead which was daunting. Camila just wanted to do something nice for him. Would she still be doing this if they weren’t now engaged? Yes. He meant a great deal to her and she could see he wasn’t doing too great and honestly, neither was she. This way they would both have a distraction for a while, maybe they could forget about their upcoming marriage and later on and just enjoy each other company like they used to before. Camila was always so nervous that because of this, he’d grow to hate her. Despite her optimistic front, Camila always thought the worst when it came to herself and she could have Blake hating her when he meant so much to her.
The sun was in the sky, it was a beautiful day as a soft breeze brushed against her skin while she waited outside a huge building for the arrival of a certain prince. Usually they would have just arrived together but Cami had been setting things up so she’d came a little earlier to make sure everything was in place and she was pretty happy with the way things had turned out and so she was excited to see his face. Blake wasn’t a guy who often had big gestures thrown his way but if she was going to be his wife then Camila would definitely be changing that. It wasn’t a marriage they wanted but she was determined to make it as pleasant as she could for the prince. They were both in this together and she’d be damned if she just made the whole situation worse for him. Cami stood outside, waiting for the car to pull up. Her blonde hair falling just above her shoulders as she stood in an black overall dress with a long sleeved, white shirt underneath. She’d heard it was going to get colder later on and she didn’t want to be stuck with just a dress on. As the seconds passed, it didn’t take long until suddenly a black car was pulling up and a familiar face stepped out. A nervous smile was displayed on the young princesses face as she walked across the street to give him a hug like she had done so many times through the years. “Hi, thanks for coming.” She smiled.
“I know the wedding and everything is stressing you out... me too if I’m honest.” Camila pushed a lock of blonde hair back from her eyes and looked over at the man she’d known since childhood with a fond smile. “It’s not what either of us want and the downside is, we have to take care of each other, not just worry about ourselves.” Not that she minded looking after him. She’d look after him even if they weren’t set to be wed, she just knew given her own issues it would be hard. Neither of them was exactly the in the perfect state with their mental health and so this would be difficult to get past but she wanted to make it as easy as she could. Camila’s smile brighter so she didn’t look so up happy any longer. “The upside is at least I have my best friend beside me.” She gently bumped her shoulder against his as she let out a soft laugh. “I suppose as far as arranged marriages go, I hit the jackpot. My dad hates me so I’m surprised he didn’t just marry me off the second he met his new wife.” Honestly, Camila has you expected much from her father at all. He was a completely different person since her mom had died. They had a complicated relationship before but it had just gotten so much worse after. Shaking away the bad thoughts, the Italian woman hooked her arm through his and started to walk away from the car. “You and I are just going to forget about everything. I’ve set up an entire day for us. I’ve had the Sea Life centre close for the public today so it’s just you and me and then we’re going to watch one of those dorky movies you like and you can eat all the popcorn you can stomach.” Her gaze fell to the floor as insecurity ate away at her. “I know things have been tense but I just want us to have one normal day where we can forget about wedding dresses, tuxs and who will be best man... I miss my best friend.”
