So, Iâll assume we all love getting a nice whiff of scents that remind us of summer, right? Things that remind us of gardens, flowers, the lake or spending time in the sun with friends and family! Well, our beloved Bath & Body Works has done it again this summer, with a beautiful line of candles, soaps, sprays, and lotions inspired by the French countryside. Not only do the names sound amazing, these fragrances are true to their names and smell amazing! (Take it from a girl whoâs returned twice for more!)
These new scents include, but are not limited to:
All of which smell stunning and make you really feel like you are in some beautiful meadow in the French countryside sigh.
I am currently the proud owner of two of these candles, and if you would like a personal opinion hereâs what I have to tell you about the last two candles:
1)Springtime in Provence which smells fresh and sweet, with an undertone of a sweetness like honey and a bit of tangy citrus.Â
2) Lemon Verbena which smells basically like lemons, with minimal sweetness to it, and mostly a light fresh and citrus-y smellÂ
The rest of the candles all smell light and fresh, with their own additions of scents, of course, based on their names
Let us know if youâve tried any of the French inspired scents Iâve mentioned or if youâve tried any new Spring/Summer scents that youâve enjoyed and tell us what you think!
Many of you probably already saw this movie but if you haven't already, then I definitely recommend you to !Â
I saw this movie for the first time just last week (yes I'm a late bird) and boy I was completely hooked !Â
This isn't an all typical Disney movie where the gorgeous rich Prince saves the Princess from her misery and they get married and have a happy ending. In fact, this movie has completely changed that to the point that its become the object of intense controversy.Â
The movie teaches young girl many things : first, the idea that falling in love with strangers is dangerous ! This is maybe obvious but I think it has a deeper meaning to it, the feeling that girls shouldn't be fools and that we shouldn't think we are in love just like that.
Second, true love doesn't only come from boys but also from family (reference to the end of the movie). Certainly a lover is important but family is as well.Â
And finally, the movie gives a great female empowerment (I don't know about you but I felt it). The two sisters seriously kick ass the whole time and I deeply admired them.Â
All in all, its definitely a great movie with a good humour and an amazing message.Â
I don't know about you, but I love a good book to read. I love reading the first page and become immediately engaged, I love following the characters stories, feeling what they feeling and in most cases become emotionally attached to the characters.
Sometimes in the holidays or on weekends you can get a bit bored; no one's online, your friends are busy and there's just nothing to do. Why not read a book? Not sure what book to read? Well, I am here to recommend great books you'll be sure to love.
The Outsiders - S.E HintonÂ
"The Outsiders is about two weeks in the life of a 14-year-old boy. The novel tells the story of Ponyboy Curtis and his struggles with right and wrong in a society in which he believes that he is an outsider."
I read this book during my exam weeks when I was supposed to be revising and I honestly could not get my head out of this books, its exciting and after every chapter you just want to keep reading. You feel like you know the characters and ((spoiler alert: one kinda major character dies)) you feel everything the characters feel when things take a turn for a worst. It is so beautifully written yet so easy to understand and I strongly recommend this book to anyone - especially those with a love for hot greaser boys.
How They Met and Other Stories - David LevithanÂ
"Here are 18 stories, all about love, all kinds of love. From the aching for the one you pine for, to standing up and speaking up for the one you love, to pure joy and happiness, these love stories run the gamut of that emotion that at some point has turned every one of us inside out and upside down."
I've always wanted to read one of David Levithan's own books ever since I read Will Grayson, Will Grayson with John Green (another book I highly recommend) and this is the first one I did read. The book contains lots of short love stories - of a sort - that will have you laughing, crying with frustration or cooing at the cuteness. Unlike many other books, this contains both straight and gay relationships which is so unique and honest that I fell in love reading the first story! The originality of this book is perfect, the characters are perfectly portrayed even in such a small amount of pages and each story will make you wish it was a whole novel. This book is one I would recommend to everybody, teenagers and adults, because it is simply stunning. David Leviathan is definitely an author I recommend.
So if you ever get bored or simply are in need of a good book, these are two of my favourites that everyone should have a read of. If you do read: enjoy! :)
With so many countries across the world, there are many different spring traditions among us, but the one i just experienced is known as Songkran. Songkran is the Thai new year, which takes place on 13-15 of april. But this new year has a bit of a twist: the main way to celebrate is by throwing water with different buckets and water guns, sometimes even colored powders are thrown amongst the crowds. Thais and even other expats (like me!) join together running through the streets to celebrate the new year with ice cold water on the hottest days of the year! As with most holidays, there is a religious aspect to it too. Sometimes Buddhists go to wats (which are buddhist temples) and give offerings of food and prayer to the monks there. Songkran is also a great time of meeting up with family and paying respects to elders, all while enjoying a nice soaking in cold water to celebrate a new year and avoid the dreaded heat! Wanna join us next year?
1. Wash everything so they're all sparkly clean! Do this before you begin, of course.
2. Fill the saucepan with an inch of water and get it slightly boiling. The heat should be about medium hot.
3. Now, mix 4 teaspoons of beeswax, 2 teaspoons of shea butter, and 3 teaspoons of sweet almond oil in the glass jar. Then place that jar in the saucepan until all the ingredients are melted.
4. Turn off the heat, then add 1/4 teaspoon of your flavor oil. When you're done, put the lid on the jar and shake!
5. Pour the melted lip balms into the lip balm pots. Wait 20 minutes for it to cool, then use it! You can decorate it however you want to.
Well, that's about it! I hope you enjoyed this article, I think it's an amazing way to save money on lip balm. :-) (Source credit: http://www.brit.co/)
This festival is known for it's celebrity splendour and fabulous fashion trends. It presents some of the best indie bands and other sorts, ranging from The 1975 to Calvin Harris with Lana del Rey in between.Â
Whats best is that the Coachella festival is like Celebrity Central. Stars such as Evan Peters and Emma Roberts (currently dating yes!), Vannesa Hudgens and Austin Butler and even The Kardashians can be seen at the festival. Just imagine walking around and seeing all these people... I know I would faint in every corner !Â
The Coachella festival doesn't only offer amazing music; theres all sorts of other activities as well! A beauty bar, yoga, boutiques, pie eating contests, a ferris wheel, farmers market...anything you can think of !Â
Plus, the fashion over there is over the top ! Hippe/indie mixed with vintage, rings, flower crowns, long skirts and sandals : thats what you mostly find walking around the festival.Â
Just thinking about it makes me green with envy. But no worries ! The Coachella Festival comes back every year with all its fab features, hope to see you there in 2015 !Â

It's time for everyone's favorite thing: Spring Cleaning!
Don't worry not the boring kind though with windex and brooms... the fun kind where I teach you how to declutter your makeup stash and get it down to the bare necessities!
Step 1:Â Decide what you really need to keep and put it aside. The best way to do this is to gather all your makeup into three piles: keep, maybe, and throw away. Important questions to ask yourself would be "Do i really need this?" "When is the last time I used this?"
Step 2: Â Take your keep and maybe piles and start organizing! Put all your face makeup in one section, then all your mascaras and liners in another, etc. I suggest putting your most used product towards the front of you drawer/countertop that way they are easy to locate and easier to organize!
Step 3: Expand your collection! here are my absolute favorite must-have spring products:
Benefit's Dandelion Blush
NYX Born to Glow Highlighter (Under $10!!)
Almay Smart Shade Makeup
Nars Lipstick in Honolulu Honey or Barbarella
Maybelline Ultra Plush Gel Mousse Mascara (Under $10!!)
Whether you celebrate the Easter Holiday for religious reasons or not, you are probably always going to celebrate it for the fun activities the holiday brings. Dying eggs, egg hunts, basket hunts, and many more. I am here to give you some Easter ideas to help make your Easter holiday the best it can be!
BASKET HUNTING
One very fun Easter activity is Basket Hunting! This activity can be done anytime of the day, although morning/early afternoon is best so that you can enjoy your personalized basket throughout the day! Create Easter Baskets for your loved ones and hide them in different places in the house. Have your loved one search for the basket themselves. Especially fun activity for children. If hiding baskets for more than one individual the hiding and searching of baskets is best done separately.Â
1) Whisk Egg Holder:
Dying Easter eggs is a lot of fun, but those DIY dying kits can be a real pain, don't you think? More specifically, those wire "egg holders" don't do a very good job of holding the egg as you're trying to dye it. This year, try using a kitchen whisk to hold your egg instead! Most helpful when looking to dye an egg different colors!Â
2) Ditch The Dying Kit:
Dye your Easter eggs with shaving cream and food coloring! Don't you hate how dull and light or patchy the colors from traditional dying kits can end up? Now you can dye your eggs just as easily and just as fun, with better results. Use a glass pan and put the shaving cream in it about 1 inch deep. Add the food coloring in droplets, using a toothpick to create different designs. More colors will create more of a swirl/tie dye effect, and more loops will add more of a layering effect. Roll the egg from one end of the pan to the other, and then place on a sheet of cardboard, plastic plate, anything flat, to keep the egg from rolling. Leave the egg there (which is now covered in shaving cream and food coloring) until the shaving cream begins to dry. Next? Just wipe off the shaving cream and look at your beautiful eggs!Â
DIY BASKET STUFFERS
1) Easter Carrots:Â
Stuff piping bags with Cheetos, Cheddar Goldfish crackers, or any other orange snack! Use green twist ties to seal.Â
2) Bunny Tails:
Fill plastic bag with jumbo marshmallows! Create a cute sign/label to add to the bag. Paper rabbit cut outs can be a very cute addition!Â
3) Candy Eggs:
Go to your local dollar tree or dollar general and buy a bag of multi-colored plastic eggs (the kind you can pull apart). Once you get a hold of those, go and buy your candy! Skittles, Jelly Beans, M&Ms or any other small bulk candy will work best for fitting in the eggs. The eggs should be tightly sealed themselves once you snap it back together. Make these the night before to ensure maximum freshness. This is a great money saver instead of buying them pre-filled at the store. Fill each egg with a different candy to create a variety.Â
FESTIVE EASTER DISHES & APPETIZERS
1) Easter Bunny Rolls:
Do you include dinner rolls on your Easter menu? Well, if you don't, you should now! (Oh, and if you do, use this technique to make them a bit more festive!) Take a pair of scissors, and with the blades facing away from you, gently cut two slits into the top of the dough balls. If done correctly, your end result should look like you have easter bunny rolls, as you have used the scissors to create bunny ears. Slits should look like bunny ears both after baking as well as before baking.Â
2) Perfect Easter Eggs:
What would you classify as "the perfect Easter egg?" A colorful Easter egg without a shell? No need to peel the hard boiled egg making it hassle free, as well as festive? If that's the perfect Easter egg for you, you're in luck! The egg I have just described, is indeed real. It is simple to prepare and has the potential to forever change how you serve Easter eggs for years to come!
Before beginning these fantastic eggs, however, you will need to make your own natural food coloring, or go out and buy some. ((The more colors you have available to you the better the end result will be. I suggest making, (or buying), two or more different colors for you to use, if possible!)) Two brands of natural food coloring that I am aware of are India Tree and Nature's Flavors. Accessibility of these two brands will vary depending on your location. I suggest calling your area grocery stores to ask if they carry either India Tree or Nature's Flavors rather than driving all over town. This method will save you a lot of time and a lot of gas. If a store does not carry these brands, first ask them if they carry any other brands of natural food coloring. If they do not carry any natural food coloring, ask if they may know of a store in your area might carry these brands (or any natural brands).Â
Once you have the dye, go ahead and cook, cool and peel all of the eggs you want to use. Number of batches you should make will depend on the number of guests you are expecting, as well as whether you plan on using the eggs as an appetizer, dish at dinner, or both. You may use the whole egg, or cut the egg in half and remove the yolk. Removing the yolk seems to be the more popular choice but this is up to you. Once the eggs are set to dye, prepare the dye as you would a normal egg dye. Feel free to use your own recipe for the mix based on your past experiences. Otherwise, use 1/2 cup white vinegar, 1/4 cup water and your own discretion on how many drops of color to use. Remember that the longer you leave an egg in the mix the more vibrant the color will be.Â
