Just wanted to give my 2 cents about something. In the music video for CITC we have Camila, first being in a transparent box, and then bursting out of the same transparent box. ( The transparent box in both senses is also associated with being in a glass closet. )
CITC’s box symbolizes more towards breaking free from the past, leaving behind the tears, and the pain. Which is why the box shatters.
“You may think that you’ll die without them
But you know, that’s a lie that you told yourself.”
( I’m using them because she uses she/he to relate more towards the audience)
But, in the NBTS music video she once again finds herself inside a transparent box that doesn’t shatter this time. Meaning there’s no liberation from that transparent box, and no liberation from a love that taunts her.
NBTS compares love to a drug. A love that’s so strong that drives her back to it over and over again. This explains why the box doesn’t shatter.
“ And I could try to run, but it would be useless.”
Moving onto uncharted territories. -
There’s a lot that I wanted to talk about All Night. All Night in it’s own way was always perpetuated towards Camren. First I wanted to talk about this camera pan. I have watched this video more than 10 times. This camera specifically panned over to this Camila look a like for more than just a brief second. It was 7 seconds in total, as if it was intentionally done to show you something.
“My heart beats a little faster, when our eyes meet in the middle of a crowded room.”
She’s in a crowded room, with the person she loves, there’s people all around them, but that doesn’t matter because her heart beats faster when they’re near her.
But then all of a sudden they get separated, and lost and try to find each other.
But ended up being separated by the people surrounding them.
This next part in self explanatory and maybe they don’t have correlation even though they’re both crawling towards the camera, but maybe they do. There’s way to much emotion put into this part for Lauren to only be acting out a part.
But maybe I should wait
