My guess for the S2 version of the âWheelchair Manâ
When Kirsten first started stitching, she saw fragments of memories in some stitches that werenât actually part of the situation. We found out in the S1 Finale that they were her own memories that sheâd forgotten - painting her momâs nails and putting the teddy bear on the hospital bed (see here).Â
Jeff tweeted the following before the second episode:
In 2x02, we briefly see a little boy wearing a red hat walk by the stitch subject.Â
In 2x03, Kirsten spots the boy, and we get a closer look at him. She goes, âWait, thatâs weird. Thereâs a boy here. It seems like heâs listening to Mulaneyâs conversation.â
In the 2x04 promo, we see the boy again standing in front of diapers at a store.
Spoilers: this boy is...
Little Cameron! Same hat, same plaid shirt. Iâm guessing heâs the âwheelchair manâ for the 2nd season in that heâs probably present in each episode (during the stitch).
Iâm not sure what heâs doing in her brain, but it looks similar to the kind of memory integration thing mentioned above with the nail polish and bear. However, this time it isnât just flashes intermixed with the stitch - the boy is actually inside the stitching situation.Â
Are these Cameronâs old memories bleeding into her stitches? Maybe a potential side effect of stitching into a live consciousness? In S1, it led up to something very important (Camsten meeting as kids), so if fetus Cameron keeps showing up in her stitches, what will the big reveal be this time? (Also, why diapers??)
ALSO LOL INSTEAD OF RESIDUAL EMOTIONS FROM HER STITCHES SHE NOW HAS RESIDUAL CAMERONS
The three numbers that make up Kirstenâs birthday (6/13) keep popping up together, starting with Ed Clarkâs safe deposit box in 1x10. Anyone have any theories??
do you know when they'll announce if there will be a third season or not?
Oh man, I wish I knew!
Based on when we found out we were getting a 2nd season, my totally non-scientific (and probably inaccurate) guess would be that if we got renewed for a 3rd season, weâd find out around the beginning of May.
Weâve made a pretty big voice for ourselves - thereâs been a lot of people contacting Freeform directly, lots of great social media posts, and stitchedatbirthâs awesome petition - so thatâs going to have a positive impact on their decision and potentially change their timing too!
Iâve put together some info about Freeformâs renew/cancelling timeframe for some of their other programming as a reference. Didnât include PLL since that showâs ratings set records, but I think the closest show to us would be The Lying Game - a summer show airing at 9/8c that became a spring show for its second season. (TLG did have PLL as a lead-in for all of its second season, though, and after Shadowhunters finishes S1 next week, we wonât have a good lead-in anymore)
Stitchers: - renewed for 2nd season after the 6th episode out of 11- third season guess: if ratings rise, renewed around beginning of May- If ratings are low, cancelled at the beginning of June- average ratings: S1-0.33, S2 current-0.18***see under cut for explanation of ratings used
Chasing Life: renew middle, cancel afterwards- renewed for 2nd season after the 10th episode out of 21- cancelled after S2 finale- average ratings: S1-0.40, S2-0.25
The Fosters:Â middle of season- renewed for 2nd season after the 10th episode out of 21- renewed for 3rd season after the 11th episode out of 21- renewed for 4th season after the 10th episode out of 20- average ratings: S1-0.64, S2-0.55, S3-0.40
The Lying Game:Â afterwards- renewed for 2nd season after S1 finale- cancelled after S2 finale- average ratings: S1-0.50, S2-0.60
Ravenswood: afterwards- cancelled after S1 finale âdue to low ratingsâ- average ratings: S1-0.52
Switched at Birth: mostly towards the end of the season- renewed for 2nd season after the 10th episode out of 30- renewed for 3rd season after the 18th episode out of 21- renewed for 4th season after the 20th episode out of 22- renewed for its final season (so technically cancelled) after the 19th episode out of 20- average ratings: S1-0.80, S2-1.30, S3-0.60, S4-0.43
Also, this may or may not be relevant, but Freeform currently has at least 10 shows in pre-production (and/or actual production) that have yet to be released or scheduled - I put together a list of them plus some brief descriptions below! Theyâre trying to find the next PLL-like cash cow (PLLâs director created one of the following shows too, I donât remember which one though) Some of these have some pretty big names cast as leads already.
Beyond: man wakes up after 12-year coma, new supernatural abilities, caught in conspiracy
Guilt: London, murder, law, scandal, royal family, sex clubs, soap/drama
Famous In Love: college girl suddenly becomes a star, focused on her chemistry with 2 hot male co-leads, hidden truths, kidnappings
Dead of Summer: 1980s, idyllic Midwestern summer camp, murder/horror
The Letter: âIf you could, without identifying yourself, what would you tell your best friend that he or she really needed to hear?â
Made in LA: fashion, friendship, comedy
Nicki: childhood of Nicki Minaj
New People: transgender family drama
After: based on Sleeping BeautyÂ
Anastasia: based on disappearance of Grand Duchess Anastasia Romanova, set in Paris during the roaring 20s
***The ratings Iâve used are the final live ratings, not the +3s or +7s, which are the ones networks look at. Iâve gotten some questions about this, so just to clear things up: +3s and +7s are going to be a lot higher than live ratings for all TV shows out there.Â
However, the relative changes are almost always the same. For example, a show with a live rating of 0.4 will likely have a +7 of between 0.7 and 1.2. A show with a live rating of 0.1 will likely have a +7 of between 0.16 and 0.28. The baselines donât change, and upward adjustments are mostly going to be relative.Â
So something at the very bottom of the ratings table will remain at the bottom no matter how many days worth of views are added in afterwards. Something at the top will remain at the top. Most shows will have +7s that are at least double their live ratings.
So ratings for yesterdayâs Season 2 premiere are out, and it looks like weâre at the very bottom in terms of Tuesday cable. The numbers in the âTotalâ column are the number of viewers, so we only had about 430,000 people watch the premiere :(
For reference, the Season 1 premiere had a Demo of 0.53 and about 1,280,000 viewers, so weâre down by quite a lot. ABC Family/Freeform has a history of cancelling anything with a season average under 0.4 (with the exception of Ravenswood which was cancelled at 0.52 and Young and Hungry which was renewed at 0.27). @stitching-in suggested that with a later time slot, younger viewers wouldnât be able to watch it live, leading to lower ratings, and I completely agree.
GUYS I DONâT WANT STITCHERS TO GET CANCELLED!!Â
WE NEED A SEASON 3! đ
