“There’s nothing like hot coffee on a chilly day.”
Kaoru honestly hesitates to sit down; one hand’s on the back of the bench, gripping it tightly, while the other holds a styrofoam cup of latté, courtesy of Saotome’s Idolbucks Café. He’d just been on his way to collect his brother so they could go home for the weekend when he stopped for some coffee (staying up at night to finish projects due Monday so he wouldn’t have to do them today or tomorrow is, in fact, not a good idea when one has to wake up a little early to head out) and, in the process, a fellow coffee-lover.
(Well, he wouldn’t say he was a coffee-lover, but it certainly seemed an appropriate title for two guys happening to meet courtesy of it.)
“You look a little old to be going to Saotome… Are you one of the senpais I’ve been hearing about?”
Another appreciator of the beverage of gods. He liked you already, Kaoru, and patted the seat next to him.
“Yes, I am. Camus.” It’s only to polite to give your name, after all, when meeting someone who shares your deep connection with coffee, but there’s something that’s bugging Camus as he studies the newcomer. He looked familiar, but like who… One of the boys he’d seen on stage at the concert… Syo? Yes, Syo. He didn’t seem as bad as he thought he’d be, having heard Ai’s tales, so maybe it wasn’t him.
“I know you must get this a lot, but are you related to Kurusu Syo?”
“Yes, he’s my brother. I’m Kaoru.”
He takes a seat beside the older man, thankful for the opportunity.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Camus. Who are you in charge of?”
“The same to you. Currently, I’m employed to take care of teaching Aijima Cecil who has, I’ve heard, missed many of his classes.”
Out of all of them, his is really the teaching job. The rest just have to babysit and shape up their charges. Not that he doesn’t enjoy it, he’s always kind of liked the thought of passing on his knowledge to someone newer. As long as they were one, willing to work for it and two, weren’t a slacking jerk.
“I don’t suppose you attend this school with your brother, do you?”
“No. I wanted to, but I missed the entrance exam.”
Though, he has thoughts on how he missed it…
“I go to Saotome’s sister school. It’s nice, but doesn’t focus on idols as much as the academy.”
A pause to sip his coffee. Mmm~~~
“Cecil, huh? Is he a good student?”
Intrigued, because it isn’t a name he’s heard before.
It did have a sister school, didn't it. Strange that someone would miss the entrance exams, but... Back on track.
"He's something." Camus waved his hand dismissively, continuing with an impassive tone. "You could call him a mix of a good and bad student, because he's not pedigree in any way." Good thing he's good at hiding his amusement.
