Shaking her head, Sage swiftly swiped the clothes before his hand caught hold of them. “No, it’s alright. Thanks anyways, sir.” Her Canadian accent shone through her words despite her attempts at hiding it.
She flashed the stranger a smile, before scooping up the rest of her clothes and dumping them back on the pile. Might as well ask him if he knew where the laundry room was, eh?
Standing up, and heaving her pile of clothes up with her, she turned to the stranger, minding the basket. Huh. That’s the first time you’ve ever seen anyone in Japan with a sort of Eskimo-like jacket. How curious.
"By any chance, do you know where the laundry room is?"
Seeing that the girl was now rising from her position on the floor, Izaya straightened his posture and proceeded to trace his narrowed eyes over her features. He inwardly noted that her expression, although completely open, seemed to contain an underlying anxiety. Granted, because of the little mishap she had just experienced with her laundry, the informant decided that the girl’s blatant embarrassment wasn’t exactly a surprising or interesting observation.
However, it was then based on her following question and her own unintentionally rapid movements that had lead the dark haired man to conclude that she hadn’t been in the country for that long.
Ah.
“I don’t.” He answered smoothly, raising his eyebrows slightly over the girl’s accented words.
“I take it you’re a new tenant here?”
Sage sighed, blowing a lock of hair out of her face afterwards. "Ah, alright. Thanks anyways."
She blinked, nodding. "Yeah, moved in about a month ago." She responded. Sage assumed that Mr. Red Eyes could tell she was Canadian, just by her accent. He seemed like a smart person, and the kind of person she wouldn't want to mess with. She was always skeptical about people who wore out-of-season jackets.
They could never be trusted.
