I photographed Danai Gurira for Cole Haan’s Holiday Campaign in 2013. Her play “Eclipse” opens tomorrow night at Off Broadway’s Public Theater starring Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o.

HOW WHY
Initially, I assumed that talk radio and the role that it plays in race relations in Trinidad and Tobago was a broad topic.
As we have now completed our Assignment; I must make comments on our Research process and its strengths and weaknesses.
Strengths
I must admit that the strengths of our paper laid with sources/ interviewees used.
Also we were given a lot of guidance on our paper through our feedback sessions.
The research methods used were successfully applied to generate accurate and valid data.
Weaknesses
Both researchers involved in the process were inexperienced in academic writing and it showed predominately because the paper lacked confidence and conviction at times.
Once again the issue of grammatical errors and sentence structure also affected the paper.
Other cultural aspects such as ethnicity, religion, poverty and politics all play a role in promoting racist discussions on talk radio. Because we were limited to only using one aspect were unable to delve deeper into the other aspects and draw useful information from them.
In conclusion, our findings resulting in reinforcing what most of our survey participants stated that; with race discourse seemingly heightened at election time, it can be argued that Trinidad and Tobago has a political problem and not a race problem.

HOW WHY
After assignment 1 was completed. I considered other topics and recommend that the following could be considered as future topics and/ areas of study
Miss World/Miss Universe (Trinidad and Tobago) Beauty contests
Do they serve any purpose in society?
Single Sex Schools vs Mixed Schools
Do children learn better in boys-only and girls-only schools?
Do is the competition between girls and boys prepare them for the real world.
Divorce in the 21st Century
Should we reform laws to make it harder to get a divorce?
Physical Discipline
Should it be outlawed?
Media/Journalism
Should newspaper reporters be required to reveal their sources?
Working Mothers
What differences, if any, are there in children who are raised by stay-at-home moms and working moms?
Does society today still discriminate against working mothers who wish to have flexible work schedules?
