I keep getting these waves of nostalgia, things I haven’t even been through or seen. But the feeling comes and hits me, all I can do is wonder.

BALANG ARAW.
Balang araw, Dahil kaya mo.

PASSION VS PROFESSION.
Just this morning, I was given a chance to sign a company contract for a job. It's actually a high paying job, but I'm having second thoughts. Okay, before I start, I just want to clarify that what I will say in this blog is my own opinion and I'm not saying that you should also do what I'm going to do. So, Passion vs profession.
The difference between passion and profession is that, Passion denotes emotion while Profession usually refers to a person's occupation. Well, the fact that I still haven't graduated from college and I stopped because of the pandemic, it still opened many opportunities for me. I started my own clothing business, I have my time without limits, and I also picked up hobbies that I currently love, like calisthenics and road cycling.
So, I was thinking if I would choose a job just because of a good salary but knowing that in time I'll burn out, and knowing that I should also need to give up the things that I love. I'd rather choose not to.
Because, when you're passionate about the work you're doing, you don't have to work a day in your life because you're truly enjoying it. Financial constraints force you to settle with jobs you don't truly like. But finding and turning your passion into a career only motivates you to do better.
Make your passion your profession.

DISCONNECT TO RECONNECT.
Have you ever stopped and think about how long you use your cellphone? Maybe you haven't noticed, but surely the first thing you do when you wake up and the last thing you do before going to sleep is check your notifications. Now, Imagine the rest of the day.
Sounds like a contradiction, but sometimes we have to disconnect to reconnect. Disconnect both physically and emotionally from all those devices and virtual worlds that constantly steal our attention. And reconnect with the real world, with nature, with the environment that surrounds us and with the people we are closest to.
Disconnect to reconnect. It doesn't seem such a bad idea once you start experiencing new things. Like, discovering new skills and hobbies you never thought you'd love. In my case, calisthenics and road cycling.

LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE.
It was noon, and I was swinging by the hammock looking at these beautiful coconut trees in one of the beaches in Bataan. One of the most raw and beautiful stretches of white sandy beach coves I have been to. Unfortunately, I was having a fever that time. But despite that, it was a perfect place to disconnect (there was no signal) and just relax.
Though it was back in 2019, I still remember every inch of memory I have that time. And quite frankly, those memories are the things I would say, worth keeping. So, why am I writing this blog? I'm writing this blog because just looking at these photos and the only photos that I have, I felt that it was a perfect time for self reflection.
Looking back on the things that happened. Life truly is an adventure. An adventure full of surprises. You won't know where it might take you, and you might just be surprised where you'll find yourself into.
And, It might be the opposite to what you believe in. But, I don't believe in the saying that we only live once, because for me, we live everyday. And everyday is a chance to enjoy every single moment we have. To the perfect places, with the right people.
So, I ask you, where’s your next adventure?

BE EAGER TO LEARN EVERYDAY.
I still remember seeing this big blue ocean right before my eyes back in 2017 in Batangas City. I still remember the ocean's breeze, it's waves and also the sun's heat. And now, I can't help but wonder, what if I didn't experience the things that I experienced that makes me who I am today? Would I be doing something less or something that makes me a better person?
One of the lessons I learned along the way is to be open to new opportunities. Especially, to the opportunities to learn new things. I tried to learn something new everyday, and actually I'm still trying. Like, Reading a book, learning a skill, training a sport, meeting new people or doing something different.
Because, every good thing starts with a desire to do something. The same goes for success stories. The more you keep pushing yourself to be knowledgeable and eager to learn, the clearer it is the way to success.

CELEBRATE YOUR SMALL WINS.
We all want to be successful in our goals in life. Also, having goals gives us something to strive for and help better ourselves. But, have you ever tried to reach a goal but over time felt that it’s just too hard to achieve and instead giving up in the end?
We tend to focus on the end goals rather than the small steps we take to get us to that goal. But, the key to success is realizing that our big goals aren’t going to happen overnight.
Don’t focus on the end goals for too long and make sure you create small, achievable goals that will allow you to see your progress more clearly. This is why it’s important to appreciate and celebrate small wins. Celebrating your small wins will help you stay motivated through your journey.
You must invest in the small things and understand that you only have that moment you are in. Although, these moments seems insignificant when determining whether you succeed or fail, it is the combination of moments over time that will achieve the big things.

FORGIVENESS IS ESSENTIAL TO GROWTH.
Have you ever experienced being wronged? Have you done things that wronged others? Whether it's a family member, a friend, or someone who hurt you, realize that forgiving is not something you do for them. It is something you do for you. So, the question is, how do we forgive even when it feels hard or impossible?
Forgive yourself first. Face what happened. Show yourself compassion and take responsibility to the things you've done. Eventually, you'll realize that, other people or the person who hurt you is also a flawed human and capable of making mistakes, and that you'll be able to forgive them.
I know it's a long process and it takes time and effort. But, one day it will open up a path where you can continue to move forward despite what happened. Because, true forgiveness is when you can say, thank you for that experience. Though, you'll still remember what happened, you will no longer be bound by it.

BEWARE THE EASY PATH, KNOWLEDGE GROWS ONLY THROUGH CHALLENGE.
One of my favorite lines from the assassin's creed franchise. Kind of odd isn't it? Lessons through games. But it's true though. When you realize that we don’t really grow when things are easy and that we grow only when we face challenges, the harder you will try to overcome those challenges.
It’s fascinating how people approach problems. Others see it as a barrier, while others embrace challenges and as obstacles to overcome. And one of those challenges is fear. Fear is nothing but a choice, it's either you give in or you fight back.
Therefore, make the effort to accept your challenges and evolve in life. Because, there is no challenge more challenging than the challenge to improve yourself.

PEACE COMES FROM WITHIN.
Everything about our society feels like an obstacle to experiencing peace. But there are ways to find and maintain peace. Peace is a choice, and your habits will determine how much of it you experience. Because It's not only a thing that you achieve by telling yourself but it should become your lifestyle.
It’s most important to take care of yourself mentally and physically. Mind what you eat, exercise, and be true to yourself. There’s no need to please other people. Be confident and take control of your own life.
Avoid chasing after those things that society has deemed to be important and make your own decisions about what’s most important to you.

LOOK BEYOND THE HORIZON.
Look beyond what you can see. Look within for value, but must look beyond for perspective. Look beyond yourself. Look beyond your imperfections. Look beyond what’s in front of you. Look beyond your hardships. Look beyond the difficulties. Look beyond the excuses.
Look beyond what you think is real to get to were you want to be. Always remind yourself to look beyond on the outside to know more on the inside. It will challenge us to broaden our perspective and alter our approach to life.

APPRECIATE EVERY MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE.
We tend to forget that happiness doesn’t come as a result of getting something we don’t have. But rather an appreciation of what we have and who we have.
Learn to appreciate the things that surround you. Look at what you have with wider eyes with more compassion and more gratitude. I promise you, amazing happiness will come into your life.

LET YOUR BAD DAYS CREATE BETTER TOMORROWS.
We all have goals and dreams in life. But we also face different struggles and challenges. Sometimes, we just can't help but think if we are making any progress. The truth is, not everything will go according to plan and not everything will be easy.
But, we have the choice of how we will respond to those problems. We must learn how we should push through and we should always keep in mind that one main goal and remember why we started in the first place.
No matter how hard the problems we are facing, no matter what life throws at us and knocks us down, we must get back on our feet and always keep moving.

THERE IS A BIG BLUE SKY WAITING JUST BEHIND THE CLOUDS.
It's okay to have bad days, you're not a human if you don't have a bad day, we all have bad days. I know it’s difficult sometimes and things can easily go wrong. But let’s think about what can go right.
Looking back, you’ll see that, you’ve survived hardships before and I believe in you. You just got to persevere, even telling yourself everyday, again and again that everything's gonna be okay.
It’s alright if you aren’t positive and happy sometimes. Feel your emotions and let it pass naturally. Just have faith, believe in yourself, and you'll get through it.
