So this is Mr. Orange, my first 3D Sculpture created in #nomadsculpt iPad app. A view from a few different angles. I have always been in awe of people who created 3D art and animators, but I have a renewed respect for people who do this for a living. Here is my first attempt using a 3D sculpting app on my iPad called #NomadSculpt and let me tell you, this stuff is much harder than it looks when you are a complete newbie to using 3D Sculpting applications. But the tutorials that I watched said it’s a fantastic app for people who already know how to do this kind of artwork and they assured me it was a great one to use for people like me. Well, it was tougher than the tutorials made it look, but I fumbled through and managed to finish this little guy. The hardest thing for me was figuring out all the new terminology used in the interface and learning how to use the tools. That gizmo is so difficult to get used to using. LOL! And I wish that the app came with more texture files, environment, and background options. I’m not convinced 3D Art is my thing, but I will do a little more exploring and see if I can turn out something better than this first attempt. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cl94a7sP5KC/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

ANIMATION IS FILM FESTIVAL returns for its fifth event in Los Angeles, October 21-23 and October 29.

Event includes individual ticketed events for screenings and Q&As for more than a dozen feature films from around the world, with free screenings of animated shorts on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Animation is Film brings world animation to the U.S. with this year’s films from Japan, Ireland, France, China, Spain, Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, Brazil, Luxembourg, Armenia, Germany and Lithuania.

The festival also boasts sneak previews of Dreamwork’s “Puss in Boots The Last Wish” and Disney’s “Strange World.” Additionally, streaming-based films have limited runs at the festival, including Netflix’s “Wendell & Wild” and “My Father’s Dragon,” Apple’s “Luck” and Disney/Pixar’s “Turning Red.”

This year comes with an extra day, with a special “surprise screening” on the festival’s closing night, Oct. 29, instead of just one weekend of animation celebrations. While the special screening will be announced later, the first weekend’s lineup is available now at animationisfilm.com
