Willoughby Tucker Forever
Leviticus Headcanons:
Ryan is THE white guy who really fucks with keeping the fire going. He's finding a big ass stick and he's poking those coals like it's his job.
Naim once threw a pillow at Ryan so hard it knocked him out of his chair and he busted his head on a table. He needed five stitches and sitting in the ED, after Naim's 80th apology, Ryan just shrugged and said "At least it was really you this time". Naim did not find this funny.
Naim's daily screen time clocks in at around 10 hours.
Ryan's phone screen is so shattered it sometimes leaves glass bits in your finger.
On the morning of his first real job interview, Ryan woke up with the biggest hickey either of them had ever seen. He found this much funnier than Naim did.
Chronic insomniac Ryan which sucks ASS because he can't leave the room for obvious reasons. So it's just a lot of him lying in bed staring at a shitty motel ceiling listening to Naim snore. He can't complain.
Naim gave himself a stick and poke of a bird. It looks like shit.
Their debit card once declined when all they were buying was lube and milk.
Ryan buzzed all his hair off. Naim wouldn't speak to him for two days. He was trying to ignore him all week but he could only manage the two days.

Leviticus Headcanons pt.2
Naim is a huge movie guy his ass is on Letterboxd and he writes lengthy reviews for every movie he sees. Which is hilarious considering Ryan has slept through half of every movie he's watched since he was nine. Naim has had to learn to make peace with this.
Ryan is terrible at rolling his own cigs, but he always tries, and he always fails, and Naim always laughs, and Ryan storms away in a huff saying "Well then you just fuckin do it then"
Contrary to popular belief they actually both suck at making friends. Naim hates meeting new people, Ryan grew up in a small town where he's had the same friends since primary school, they're both way out of their wheelhouse in a new city. Plus, they're both jealous cunts. My boyfriend can't think about other men if we don't meet other men.
Neither of them have read a full book since year eight.
Ryan would never tell him this but Naim is a nightmare to sleep next to. He snores, he thrashes around, he sleep talks. Sometimes it is endearing enough to make up for the amount of times he wakes Ryan up. Sometimes.
Ryan started got into so many fights in primary school it is a miracle he didn't realize he was gay sooner. Something something intricate rituals. He's gotten his nose broken twice.
Naim gets his first paycheck and both boys immediately walk to Maccas and order nine burgers. It's the best meal either of them have ever had.
Ryan's workmates all think he's lying when he brings up his boyfriend because his name is Naim. They're like "Mate you don't have to prove you're gay or anything, we get it" and he's like "No, no guys I swear I have a boyfriend he's real and he's super fuckin hot let me find a picture"
Naim never gets his license but both him and Ryan can't drive for shit.
Ryan gets this crazy chest pain and he starts hyperventilating and he's so sure he's having a heart attack and Naim's like I think this is just a panic attack and Ryan goes nah that shit doesn't happen to me I must be dying. Nope. Panic attack. This happens every single time he gets one by the way.
They celebrate Ryan's 18th birthday at a teeny bar downtown. They spend far too much money getting far too drunk and they get kicked out at 1 AM because they were fucking in the bathroom and being really loud about it. Ryan still calls it the best birthday he's ever had.
Quick sketch, they make my heart hurt @tankhall
In 2018, I wrote down a passing thought in my cheap little leather-bound journal I was writing a collection of songs in that would go on to become Preacher’s Daughter. “If I finish this album the way it needs to be finished, it will change my life, and it will leave a hole in my heart for years that I won’t know how to fill.” I’ve always had a knack for eerily accurate self-premonition. Preacher’s Daughter certainly left a hole, and it certainly changed my life, but only on the outside. All the songs I wrote for it were about characters, a girl in a “faraway” place living her “faraway” life, albeit still parallel to mine, but wholly detached from me. Willoughby was doomed to be closer to home. I wrote Nettles and Waco the same week, the first week I spent in the Alabama house where I would finish Preacher’s Daughter after so many years of trying. The difference was I wrote them about me. There were no characters at first; it was just me. In fact, I wrote them in an attempt to hide from Ethel Cain for a moment. She eventually devoured those little ditties too, of course, as she always does. In hindsight, I’m glad I had to share them with her. I couldn’t have carried the full weight of them myself, I know that now. My premonitions were out in full force; over the course of the next few years, I’d script out my own life in the same morbid fashion I always have. Maybe it was a lesson in not training my eye downward as I’ve spent the majority of my life doing.
I had 3 weeks for the holidays between mixing and submitting Perverts and jumping back into the maw of taming an unfinished Willoughby Tucker. I spent the first three months of 2025 on probation, unable to go much of anywhere, awake only when the sun was down. I’d never mixed a record of that magnitude, which was daunting with deadlines immovable. I remember 9am on my 27th birthday rolling around after being awake for hours whittling away at mixes, announcing the album and entire tour before going back to mix an album that still wasn’t done. I’ve never cried so much finishing a record, and that was before it was even out. Combining your Saturn return, your first shot at true love, and the longest tour of your life is something I would never recommend to anyone. It was the death of both ego and everything around it. I couldn’t be more grateful. Never in my life have I been so turned inside out, so uprooted and unraveled. Looking back, I needed it more than anything.
Thank you to everyone who listened. Ethel Cain and Willoughby Tucker will always be my children, my burnt offerings, what I leave in the storm. Sometimes I wish it didn’t have to be this way, but I also fear it’s the only way. Ethel Cain, Willoughby Tucker, I really will always love you. I feel as though in this moment here, saying goodbye, you and I are closer than ever. I hope you can forgive me.
leviticus au where Jess and Marnie are swapped with Ryan and Naim, so Naim would be the one to die at the start and Ryan would be in the hospital. Marnie would out Jess and Jess just can't bring herself to hate Marnie especially after both their rituals, if this makes sense.

Hunter..
I have to talk about this, but the way some people, mainly on Twitter, demonize Hunter too much. Yes, he's a jerk and doesn't justify the shitty behavior with that poor girl in the school scene (and naim. If in the scene that was removed from the movie does it still count as canon?) but many treat him like he's the worst character ever. The point of Hunter's character is his tragedy that homophobia kills people. He never accepted himself and that isolation he felt after being outed. Put yourself in his shoes for a moment: his father was a pastor of the Church and his entire life he was under pressure from his parents to be that model of a good "Christian." Logically, being gay always had that internal battle between being himself and what his parents expected of him. This is demonstrated in his internalized homophobia, as he chooses to deny everything and be in a constant state of denial of who he really is. and the only way I can be with another man is through violence as a form of punishment. When the movie came out and I saw the spoilers and the way people talked about Hunter they made me think he was the worst person possible. Imagine my surprise when I saw the movie and the boy has like 5 minutes on the screen. I just felt bad about his death. As a gay man, I myself relate a lot to his internalized homophobia, I can't understand how people make fun of his death, even Naim had more empathy for him than some people. I don't understand how people hate him so much, his whole life until the end was a tragedy. and people make fun of a death caused by homophobia. Hunter deserved better, but that's the point of his character that homophobia kills. Luckily Naim and Ryan have each other. If they hadn't, I would end up as a hunter. What horrified me most was seeing people from my own community mocking his death. He died thinking that no one loved him, he really died thinking that the real Ryan killed him.
also furthering the whole "the entity is a metaphor for homophobia" take on leviticus, I interpreted his death as suicide, especially because he had so much internalised homophobia and religious guilt.
the real reason the one ring took so long to destroy
