Ryuzaki threw himself over the counter, "If yer not here to spend money then y’really outta get out," he replied, eyes narrowing at the tiny little blonde. "Buuut, since y’brought me somethin’ cool t’look at I’m gonna humor you, whadd’ya bring me?" Yes yes, very exciting. Hand it over, munchkin.

"Okay so, context first!" She tucked the mystery item back in her pocket and wrung her fingers together, "So basically, I went on this really small dig, details aren't important, but there wasn't really a lot going on. They sent half the crew home early but I stopped on to help with some admin and with clean up yadda yadda," Hand wave, "Basically, one of the newbies was still sort of working on one trench when she found this--" That's when she got out the little bundle of tissue, unfolding it to reveal is rather sizeable tooth. "It's a shark tooth! I asked and they let me have it since it wasn't really important... everything should be important, but here we are. I figured you'd want it."

"Hello to you, too. What else do you have here? Birds? Kittens…?” All very important questions. She adjusted her glasses and eyed the guy behind the counter, who obviously hadn’t been working very hard when she walked in. Typical.

Ryuzaki shook his head, "We don’ stock bigger animals, you’d hafta try somewhere else fer stuff like kittens ‘nd puppies," but he pointed to the far corner of the store where several large cages were sitting, six or seven brightly colored birds perched between them. "We got a couple’a parrots, depends what yer lookin’ fer." Which would be what exactly, Rebecca why are you here.

No, no that wasn't why she was here. Truthfully she wasn't interested in the animals at all, she just needed a way to rub some new-found information in the brunet's face. "Would you like to see what I found on my last dig? I think it's something that you'll appreciate." She pulled something from the pocket in her skirt wrapped in a cloth. So exciting, can you feel the excitment, Ryuu?

"Do you sell hamsters?" Rebecca asked, appearing in front of the cash register, seemingly from nowhere. Hello by the way, small animals are more important right now!

"REBECCA—!" Where the Hell did this girl keep popping up from? Welp, there goes another perfectly good cellphone. Splat against the ground. Sigh. "Yeah, we sell ‘em, d’you want a regular one or one of the real little ones… I dunno, they’re kinda grey." He had no idea, he didn’t hold much interest in the tiny balls of fluff and smiles. They were lacking scales or feather (definetely not lacking in SHARP FREAKIN’ TEETH.)

"Where’s the old man? I was gonna ask him somethin’, nothin’ important jus’ some questions ‘bout his job.." Ryuzaki was thinking about quitting his dead-end retail job, but he needed some advice. Story for another time. "Anyways, you gotta tell me ‘bout yer trip, ‘cause I’m itchin’ t’hear all there is t’bein’ a runner." The boy grinned, quickly snatching the can from the blonde’s hands and snapping it open.

"He's taking a nap, I'm sure he'll be happy to answer your questions later." Rebecca rolled her eyes and opened her own soda. She let out of a hollow laugh, "There's not a lot to tell, they weren't all that keen in letting me near the dig site," With a sigh she gesture for Ryuzaki to follow him into the living room. "I barely even got to input any of the data, I literally played runner in the most basic sense! The site director was a thirsty guy, I've never seen anyone drink so much coffee in my life!"

"Erk! Rebecca!" His hand jumped away from the door and he quickly recovered his composure by shoving both of them in his pants pockets. "Well yeah, y’said I hadta come over, so…" Waves the little purple piece of paper. He glanced a little over her shoulder, was the old man in? "Sure, a soda’ll be fine. Have y’been runnin’ or somethin’?"

"Running? Oh, no. I was just studying, been sat down all day so I guess I'm a little out of breath." She stretched her arms above her head, a satisfying pop sounding from somewhere in her back. After closing the door she lead her friend towards the kitchen, "Sorry I couldn't come visit your shop, I just don't think I can get away for long enough... and I'm going away again soon, you know, the usual." With a shrug she opened the fridge, grabbing two cans of the afore-mentioned soda.

Ryuzaki glanced down at the piece of paper, reading the neat handwriting that was written on it. Rebecca had given him her address and practically demanded that he call in, claiming that she didn’t have the time to leave and pay a visit to his store. He didn’t mind, but he was a little apprehensive going to the girl’s house when there was a chance her grandfather was there. Those were questions that he wasn’t prepared to answer. His fists balled awkwardly at his side as he willed himself to knock on the front door. Ryuzaki was dying to find out about her dig, she had been talking about it with so much excitment before. He was admitedly extremely jealous that he wasn’t so lucky with opportunies.

Knock…knock knock— She was expecting him, she had no reason to avoid answering the door… surely she wouldn’t make her grandfather answer in her place. She couldn’t have been that busy…? Where was she!

The knocking jarred the blonde's concentration. She had approximately two thousand words left to write for her paper and she was trying very hard to get everything in without running over the word limit. She flew from her seat at the coffee table and had the door open before Ryuzaki had even pulled his hand away. "You're here!" She stated, puffing her bangs from her eyes, "Come in, come in. Do you want a drink, Grandpa brought back soda from the store earlier." She stepped aside, gesturing for the brunet to come in.

"Oh… well there’s a cart in the shoppin’ district tha’ sells the best Udon noodles. We could head there, s’cheap ‘nd I ain’ gotta sit down t’eat it." Which was pretty much his excuse for everything. Sitting in restaurants only made him feel uncomfortable.
