Yan! Platonic! Batfam x Hyper! Hero! Reader x Yan! Platonic! Superfam [Fluff] [Part 1]
The into for the anime Vigilantes, the song Kekka Orai/Kocchi no Kento, has been stuck in my head and I can't stop thinking of a hyperactive reader who is also a hero.
Think of Reader as a mixture of Hermes, Pinkie Pie, Maddie Hatter, Sun Wukong (The Monkey King), Paprika, Deadpool, and Spider-Man all mashed into one colorful hero! I gave Reader a superhero name biased only on the vibes, so sorry if it's a bit cringe. Yes Reader has Toon force (it's the perfect power in my opinion.) Also Readers Hero outfit is very brightly colored.
I don't really have a plan for this one, I just wanted to dabble in some free ball writing tbh. Reader is very star themed, like really star themed. So star themed in fact they've actually got an entire star in their chest.
Onto the disclaimers/warnings: Violence, death, dimension crossing stuff, minor character death, magical bs, Possessive/obsessive tendencies and actions
The only sound that fills the air is the steady tempo of your skates pummeling against the face of a large man covered in head to toe with black tattoos. You can't help but giggle as you do a backflip, landing one more hit on his face- right in the nose, as you avoid the large black blur headed your way. The blur slams into the man as you spin away to try and calm yourself down from the adrenalin high you were getting.
It's not your fault it was so silly. Honestly you'd think this duo of Dark-and-Edgy™️working together with All-Brains-No-Cells, for almost two years mind you, would have gotten their act together by now. You reach into the pocket of your brightly colored suit and manage to pull out a rather impossibly long party streamer.
"You guys look like you should do more trust exercises!" You pull at the neon blue streamer and start skating circles around the two. "Don't worry, I'm sure you two will love this one! It's a classic" By the time they are aware of what you were doing it's already too late.
The two of them were tied up with a neat bow and were unable to break free despite their struggling. You do a little bow as you continue to skate around the floor and grab whatever document seemed important. You spin to a stop as you lean on a metal table, flipping through the folders in your hand with precise speed before you dig into your pocket and pull out a fancy looking zip-lock bag. You give the files a once over and drop them in the bag for safe keeping. Seems they were trying to build a portal of some kind?
You crack your knuckles and put the zip-lock away into your bag, then you turn your eyes on dumb and dumber. You raise a brow as you find the two of them arguing with each other. "Wow, do you guys need to go to couples therapy? I know of a good one, well obviously not because I need it but- well, you know your pal can get a bit curious and fall down the occasional rabbit hole... hm anyway- I could totally set you two up!"
The two share a look before both screaming that the two of them weren't a couple. You can't help but laugh as you easily pick them up and sling them over your shoulder. "Hah, you don't have to hide it from me. I'm, like, the last person who'd judge you for being gay. Live and let live and all that."
You make your way out the door, jumping over the fallen rubble with ease, but on the way out you grab the small looking portal in case it actually worked. You didn't want it falling into the wrong hands and all that!
Just before you could leave the building something almost slammed into you from behind. You turned just in time to kick the katana away from you without it cutting any of your flesh. Behind you stood a tall woman with skin as pale as the moon and hair as dark as tar. Her eyes were a striking ice blue and she wore nothing but a traditional Japanese wedding dress, her hands were covered in red paint that mimicked blood splatter and her face held little cracks that span across her face like a spiders web.
"Ah, how wonderful to see you once more Star Hero" Her voice was smooth and cold like a frozen pond that could withstand anything thrown at it. Her eyes narrowed as she held out her hand. The katana that you had kicked away dissolved into a cloud of ice shards and remade itself back into her hands.
You smiled, albeit a bit nervously. You always had trouble facing off with Onryo as she never pulled her punches and always seemed to be trying to either take your life or try and recruit you into becoming part of her family. It was never easy when she decided to try and tempt you into joining her side as she always seemed to find each and every flaw of yours to point out in hopes that you'd be entrapped with the idea of her helping you fix it.
Of course it never worked, I mean why would you try and spend time with her after she just pointed out an embarrassing flaw of yours? Sure you felt bad after you heard her tragic backstory- on the night of her wedding her husband ran away with her own mother, who was never kind to her and often called her a 'blemish on her perfect life', after slipping poison into her sake. Of course she did end up dying but there was a large chemical spill during the winter time that ended up leaking into the poor ditch that was her grave. She ended up coming back to life but totally different and with a thirst for blood.
"Onryo! Good to see you again, find any leads on your trashy ex? C'mon, I'll even put aside my goody-two-shoes act and help you out!" You made a peace sign as you jumped over the swing of her katana, the wings on your skates start to move to keep you air born for a few more seconds. You land on her katana and flash her a smile under your classic brightly colored domino mask before you punch her square in the face.
She growls and spits out a glob of blood before she leans forward and takes off. The white robes that decorated her body moved gracefully in the air as you flipped away from her onslaught of attacks. The two villains, that were still hanging over your shoulder, seemed upset at all the jostling and you couldn't help but feel a bit bad about it.
"Woah! Time out, time out! Let me drop these two off at the station and then we can- Oh shit!" You spun backwards, hair twirling in the wind as you dodged an oncoming car. When did you get to the streets? Fuck it, you couldn't endanger these two's lives like this.
You looked around before spotting an empty cop car and without a beat you shoved the two of them inside and dug in your pockets for a sticky note to explain. You crouched down just as Onryo decided to try and decapitating you. Thank goodness for your little internal alarm that rang every time you were about to get attacked!
Well it's not like an alarm clock but more so of a faint buzzing under your skin? It felt similar to getting zapped! You launched yourself in the air as you pulled out two giant ribbons. The two ribbons, both a pale purple, wrapped themselves around your arms and you used them to launch yourself deeper into the streets, landing on a moving train.
The neon lights of the city blew past you as you pulled out a bo staff that resembled the same one the Grate Sage Equal to Heaven had in his myths. You leaned forward and blocked a slash that was a bit too close for comfort. Without thinking too much about the device in your pocket you continued to fend off the attacks, even creating sparks as your staff clashed against her katana.
The two of you were face to face and you couldn't help but smile. This was what you were after, this adrenalin rush as you fought for your life! Sure saving people brought you a heavy warmth in your soul but this was the best part of it all!!
You discarded your staff and slammed your fists together, a red hue covered your hands and as it faded two boxing gloves took it's place. You crouched before jumping forward, your fists slamming into her pale face as the two of you traded blow for blow. Sure you got cut here and there but you had also managed to land hits on her as well.
You threw yourself upwards and felt your skates shift into a hoverboard, missing the way she smiled fondly at you, and gave her a wink. She looked forward once more, her eyes not registering the giant sign headed her way, before having to do a double take. She tsk'ed before throwing herself off the train and disappearing into a cloud of ice.
Guess you won't be seeing her around for a while. You looked upward into the night sky and marveled at the stars. The icon star design in the middle of your chest glowed faintly and you couldn't help but want to touch the stars, even if for a small moment. On nights like this you'd toy with the idea of becoming one with the constellations but a small voice would whisper that now wasn't a good time.
You hovered in the air for a moment before flying away into the clouds. You flew higher until the air is thin enough that it leaves you breathless and almost needy for a proper lung full of air. You drifted further and further into the endless night before powering your hoverboard down and closing your eyes. You tilted backwards and let yourself free fall backwards with the greedy pull of gravity. The feeling of free falling would always be your favorite feeling in the whole world.
As the wind leapt past your ears to the point of deafness you spread your arms out wide as you got closer to the bustling city that floated in the sky. The device beeped away soundlessly in your pocket and you were none the wiser to it. It gave a shrill beep, that escaped you due to the wind, and since your eyes were closed you couldn't see the bright blue portal opening up beneath you that lead to a whole new city.
You opened your eyes just before your body could hit any of the buildings and you felt two giant feathery white dove wings sprout from your back, right near your center point of gravity, and effortlessly break your fall. Thankfully you didn't crash into any budlings, you wouldn't want to get stuck with fixing it while you could be doing other things for your beloved city. Sure Crestfall City was a bit lacking in some areas but the neon lights always made you happy. It was yours to protect.
Except when you looked around you noticed that it wasn't your beloved city anymore. There was no neon lights or futuristic buildings that towered over everything, nor was there any floating buildings that really made you have to look upwards just to catch a glimpse of them. And the flying cars and trains were gone!
In fact this place was really...old? As in all the technology seemed to be decades behind yours and not to mention the fact that it was also a major different aesthetic. See your city was something straight out of a Sci-Fi vaporwave novel but this city? This city was close to a Victorian novel or a noir film, not even the landmarks were the same as yours!
So that raises the big question of where and when the hell were you? A faint burning feeling warmed your thigh before your pocket burst into flames. You let out a yelp and did the first thing that came to mind- panic.
You swatted at your pocket, you rolled on the floor, you did both at the same time, and you even had to pull out a fire extinguisher from out of nowhere and it was still on fire! You bit your lip as you risked fishing out the object that was burning your suit. This might hurt but you really didn't want to turn into some sort of flightless Icarus.
The smooth object, that was somehow on fire but unable to burn your hands, was easy to remove as it was no bigger than your palm. You blew on it to clear away the rest of the small flames and realized this was the portal from earlier.
In your confusion you didn't hear the sound of two grappling hooks deploy nor did you hear the sound of footsteps until someone placed a hand on your shoulder. "Got anything interesting in that palm of- Urk"
You would like for it to go on record that you did not squeal. You shouted like a totally normal person would as you punched the person next to you in the stomach. You blinked, putting the mini portal away in your other pocket as you looked downwards to see someone in bright blue spandex currently clutching his stomach.
Next to him was someone dressed in a bat themed costume with the only drop of color being his yellow belt. "Oh! Oh my stars! I'm so sorry- ah hold on I've got something to help!!" You ruffle through your pockets and pull out a can with a green label, with a woman wearing a yellow dress and standing next to a green suited man, and offered it to him. "Here try this, I'm pretty sure lemon-lime soda helps with stomach aches!"
"Who are you?" The gruff voice of the Bat guy asked, or rather demanded, his arms were crossed and he gave off the vibes of a very tired dad.
You foolishly pointed to yourself and tilted your head, "Me? Why, I'm your friendly cosmic hero! Star Punch!" You strike a pose, one hand on your hip as your other hand makes a peace sign with your thumb hangout. Right on cue a small shower of stars circled around you, showering you with glittery sparkles, before disappearing as if it was never there in the first place.
He raised a brow and remained silent. You lowered your arm with a confused look. "Really? Never heard of me? Not to toot my own horn but I'm pretty famous. Or well, you know wanted in the dead or alive kinda way? Vigilante and all that jazz?"
"Never heard of you. What's your business in Gotham?" Wow...was this guy for real?? You're pretty sure there's at least twenty wanted posters of your face on every street!
"Gotham? What? No, no, I thought I was still in Crestfall city? Or- well, somewhere near it?" Now you even more confused. The guy in blue looked at you and then back to the Bat guy before going over and whispering to him. Sadly you didn't get to hear it but at least the bat guy didn't look that mad anymore.
"I've never heard of a city called Crestfall. What year do you think it is?" This time it was the blue guy speaking, leaning on the Bat guy with his arms crossed. You couldn't help but be reminded of a mother duck and her baby. How sweet.
"Duh, isn't it the year thirty forty-five? Also, I've never heard of Gotham either. Is it new?" You shrug pulling out a whole ass calendar from your pocket and pointing to the date circled in a glittery blue pen. The art of the month was two women who were made up of nothing but stars holding hands as they faced each other with a fond look in their eyes.
Bat guy actually facepalmed as the blue guy let out a sigh. "No, uh, I'm pretty sure the years still two thousand and twenty five." He turned to the Bat guy, "B I think we've got another displaced time traveler or...something?"
⏔⏔⏔ ꒰ ᧔ෆ᧓ ꒱ ⏔⏔⏔ ꒰ ᧔ෆ᧓ ꒱ ⏔⏔⏔꒰ ᧔ෆ᧓ ꒱ ⏔⏔⏔꒰ ᧔ෆ᧓ ꒱ ⏔⏔⏔
So apparently they were called Batman and Nightwing? Which were cool names, but also the three of you were able to piece together that this wasn't a time travel thing but rather a dimension thing.
Once they brought you back to their hideout, which was a sick ass cave under a gothic mansion, you decided to talk about the burning device in your pocket. Well, what was left of it anyway. It was still in pretty good shape other than the fact that it was mostly burnt in the most important areas.
The two of them got to studying it and by that point you had already forgotten about the paperwork in your pockets. In fact you were so distracted by the giant penny that you hadn't noticed the arrival of two more people.
First was a lanky, but well built, teen with pale skin and pale blue eyes. Second was a smaller teen, who looked like they had just turned thirteen in the recent months, who was no taller than your hip. The younger teen had darker skin and almost fern green eyes that had a small glow to them.
When you first laid your eyes on the older teen you had felt like he was awfully familiar, like someone you've passed on the streets and did a double take because something about them was drawing you in. So obviously you had to say hello to the new guy!
You kicked off from your spot near the ledge of the platform, one leg in the air as you folded your hands behind your back and circled the guy on your skates. You wanted to get a full 360 view of him before you made any sort of judgment.
From your quick lookover you had spotted the amount of scars that covered his body. From a slice that went from one side of his neck to the other all the way to a few claw marks on his back that his tank top did little to hide. You stopped circling him and finally held out a hand, a nod of approval as he hesitantly took it.
"Salutations! You can call me Star Punch, or Star, Oh! You could even call me [Name]. That's my real name by the way!" You shook his hand so violently his enter arm started to shake like it was made of rubber. "You see, I normally wouldn't give you my real name but since I'm totally not from your world it's A-Okay!"
"Father, explain this brightly colored fool immediately." The younger boy crossed his arms, almost looking like a spitting image of Batman, and he sent you a glare.
You stuck your tongue out in response as you took your hand away from the tired looking teen. "For your information I'm only a fool when it's a good time to be." Was all you said before you skated back towards the giant computer with your eyes closed. "B, I'm bored! You got anything cool to do?"
When Batman didn't respond, only handing a file of what you assumed to be notes he took about you to his child, you let out a huff. "Fine! Be that way, I'll just have to find entertainment by myself!" You pulled out a pale yellow tent from somewhere in your pockets and went inside, ignoring the raised brows of confusion from everyone else in the room.
"I'm going to go out on a limb and assume they're a very displaced hero from a very odd future?" The tall and tired teen said as he rubbed at his eyes. This earned a nod from the big Bat himself.
You, feeling bored and restless by yourself in the tent, stick your hand out and grab the nearest person. You pull them inside and come face to face with the half startled look of the younger teen. You smile at him and hand him a small kitten with a purple party hat gently stuck to it's head.
He marveled at the cat before looking around the tent. Inside the tent was much larger on the inside than it looked on the outside. It was fully decorated in a pastel circus theme with a lot of star motifs covering a lot of the decorations. Despite you claiming to be from the future the tent had a very old timey look to it that felt both nostalgic for a time that didn't exist and very whimsical.
Outside the tent a man in red and blue spandex showed up with three other people, one of which was in his arms. The other two were smaller and wore similar yet not the same hero suits as he did, one had more of a punk rock vibe and the other was just small.
You stick your head out, and the teen whose name you've learned was Robin, did the same to look at the new people. You roll out of the tent with a cup of peach tea in your hand as you skate circles around them. They seemed buff and really strong.
But what caught your eyes was the woman dusting off her fancy purple blouse. Was she a hero too? You titled your head as you studied her, unaware that the younger red and blue hero was doing the same motions as you. You blink before smiling as it finally clicked, she was a reporter!
"Is this the hero you were talking about? I can see what you were talking about, their heartbeat is abnormal...." The tall man said as he glanced over you before his eyes widened in shock. "Oh! They have a-"
You slap a large star shaped sticker over his mouth and waved your finger. "Nuh-uh! That's spoilers, and keep those X-ray eyes of yours away from me! Creepo" You cross your arms as you skate backwards and into a bean bag that wasn't there before. He blinks before smiling fondly and looking back to the dark and moody hero.
"Look at you! Sick wheels you've got there, can they do anything?" The punk themed teen asked as he floated around you, hovering just an inch off the ground with his hand on his chin in thought. "What does this do?" He tapped on the star in embedded in your chest like a perv would. Wow do these people not understand the basics of personal space [heh get it?] and spoilers??
The star glows a bright [f/c] color before fading from view to reveal you in your every day outfit. Gone was the skin tight suit and puffy space themed jacket with matching roller skates and in its place was a pair of black ripped jeans and a heavy metal shirt that was two sizes too large on you.
"Hey! Don't touch!" You smack him with your palm and a cartoonish red hand print shows up on his skin, much to the shock of everyone else. He cups his cheek and pouts similarly to a dog. You touch the star on your chest and watch their eyes widen as a [f/c] color light travels upwards and replaces your clothes with your hero suit. "You people are so rude"
"Anyway! I just remembered something very important!!" Your hand digs through your unreasonably large pockets until your hand touches the smooth plastic of the zip-lock bag. You pull it out and hand it over to the heroes in front of you. "I totally forgot about this, my bad!"
A collective sigh broke out as you rolled towards the reporter with a grin. You've always wanted to talk to one without them trying to twist your words!

Two days. You've been here two days and yet for some reason you've found that none of these people will leave you alone! Any time you try and do something there's always two people tagging along.
You walk across the city in your civilian clothes with Tim and Kon tagging along behind you. The two of them occasionally bicker with each other as you hold their hands. And why might you be holding their hands? Maybe because you've wandered off far too much without being held down.
It was totally not your fault everything seemed so cool! They might not have had the sci-fi charm that your city had but they had much cooler things. They had lots of people dressed up in fancy clothing, people selling such odd things you've never seen before, and even it's own type of personalized burger joint!
While you've never eaten at a Bat-Burger before you now have the chance to do so. And oh boy were you excited!! You had begged, literally, the big bad bats and the boy scout to go. And after an hour of straight begging they finally let you go.
However you couldn't go unless someone went with you, and these two jumped at the opportunity. So here you were, a few miles away from their homebase and a two minute walk away from the ever famed Bat-Burger. What could go wrong?
Well.
Nothing happened on the walk there but the moment you stepped inside someone tripped over air and you ended up catching them. Now that's not the problem, the problem is that the moment you caught them they immediately let out a squeak and ran away from you. Like hello???
And then after that every time you spoke someone was staring intensely at you while you did so. Did you look bad? Did you have something stuck in your teeth? The hell was wrong with these people?
But other than that the food was great! Unbeknownst to you- everyone was actually caught up in your beauty to fully act proper round you. But can you blame them? Your hair was perfect and a lovely shade of [h/c] color as well, with your body build you looked exactly like you crawled out of a movie. The scar placed right through your eyebrow making you have that slight edgy look to your casual aesthetic??
And you were helpful, kind, polite, strong, and you even saved someone without asking for anything in return? What portal did you crawl out of you kind freak of nature?!
Not to mention the fact that you had two handsome men hanging off your shoulders. One of which being THE son of well-known-party-boy Brucie Wayne and the other from Clark Kent THE reporter from Metropolis who was close friends with Bruce?? Just who in the world were you?? Some sort of undercover idol? An up and coming movie star?
Too bad you don't have access to the internet because you'd be having a field day laughing at all the posts about you. You hadn't even realized that you became a small online celebrity from that one interaction.
However your online fame can wait. Currently you were chowing down on this burger that tasted really good! You got yourself a classic Bat Burger with lettuce, tomato, cheese, and some sort of mystery sauce that oddly went well with the beef patty. To top it off you got a side of joker fries that came with some weird green powder that tasted slightly sweet and salty. And then you got something called a Red Robin Sprite?
That one made you cough, real bad, due to the acidity of it and the flavoring. You thought it was going to be like a cherry lemon-lime but it was more like boiled Gatorade mixed in with a WcDonalds Sprite. Tim and Kon both laughed at you when you started coughing.
"Wh-why the fuck would you recommend me that?? It tasted so mcfreaking bad!!" You threw a fry at each of them. Kon caught the fry while Tim let himself get hit in the face with it.
"Ahh that's cause it's a right of passage. You haven't really tried Bat-Burger unless you've tried their nasty drinks!" Tim stole a few more of your fries as he talked.
"Mhm, hey we should get more fries" Kon nodded along, also stealing your fries. Fake ass friends stealing your fries, you'll remember this for later.
But before anyone could actually get up and get some more fries someone dressed in a fugly ass light blue suit broke through the door. He held up what appeared to be a ketchup and mustard bottle, connected to a tube that lead to a container on his back, like guns and pointed them at everyone in the room.
"Nobody move! Put the money in the bag, or else you'll face the wrath of I! Condiment King!!"
Your face contorted into a very disgusted and confused look as you gave him a once over. Who the cosmos was this freak? Out of all the gimmicks he picked- he went with fucking condiments????
Without a word you stood up, much to the shock of Tim and Kon, and made your way towards the bathroom without anyone else in the crowd spotting you.
A moment of silence pass before they both sighed. "...they're going to power up aren't they?" Kon whispered to Tim as he leaned over, using his other hand to continue eating more of your fries.
"Of course they are. God damnit, why'd he have to show up here of all places? We finally got the chance to spend time with them and he just" The paper cup of soda in Tim's hand gets crushed in half. Some of the drink shoots out and lands on the ground near them.
A blank moment of time passes by as Condiment King starts making his demands to the worker. You fly in through the broken doors and tackle him to the floor, flying right past a star struck Tim and Kon. The two of them could swear 'more than a feeling' was playing in that moment.
You punched Condiment King in the face before digging into your pockets for an ugly green colored party ribbon to tie him up with. Sadly the fight was short lived as you were hungry and pissed, probably really hangry, at the fact that most of your food got hit with the debris of the broken door.
There was no silly one liner, funny jokes, or even any questions. You were just so pissed off about your food that you didn't want anything else to do with him.
You tied him up in the ugly ribbon and quite literally threw him out the door he broke down. In a flash you were sitting right beside them, back in your original clothes, arms crossed and a frown settled on your face.
Kon pats your shoulder with a solemn smile while Tim points at the menu behind you. "We'll get you more food..."
Is this probably going to be a two part series? Uhhh yeah! Anyway this has been in my drafts for an entire YEAR so I'm trying to clean it up and get it outta here so I can take my drafts out of the double digit area.
I have more planned but I do plan on keeping this MOSTLY a fluffy au. Also this is my first time writing for the Supers, so I plan on toying with their potential before making a part 2? Or maybe I'll make a part 2 before making a Yan! Supers centric fanfic with a neglected reader au.
See the joys about DC is that they have SO MUCH potential I can use!! I could even throw in my beloved son Billy Batson! But I've got too many ideas so I have to focus on clearing my drafts first.
Because we love to rank people now this is my tier list! (In NO particular order)
I also want to add that the original tier list post actually referenced fics instead of the blogs themselves, I've added the actual blogs because I find it silly to rank people based on one story they post. The ones that didn't get tagged in the OG are the one's I've put in italics.
Please show support to these writers - a lot of them aren't taking the criticism to heart, which is good, but it's still wildly unfair for someone to rank anyone like the original poster has.

Oh me gosh!!! Thank you SO much for mentioning me!! Sorry my response is like five days late, I was trying to figure out what the heck the other post was talking about and I ended up just forgetting about it entirely by accident. I feel so honored to be added to something like this!
I do agree that the other list was probably made in poor taste and it's a little shameful of them to trash talk the other writers like that!
Everyone should totally check out the other writers mentioned as they all have such good stories!!
Due to popular Demand I will be writing the extra endings that aren't Canon to the series! Since the secret 4th ending was so popular on the poll it will be the first one I write about!
So for this one something deviates from the original path I had planned out. Reader does not win the fight and something else entirely happens!
Quick Disclaimers/Warnings: Extreme Body Horror, Death, Reader has anger issues, Red Lantern Reader, NOT canon to the main timeline, Angst, Y/N is NOT Reader, Short as fuck tbh.
Her body stretched like rubber so you couldn't snap her in half. Anger bubbled up through your stomach and you spit burning hot magma upon her stomach and watched as it melted through.
"Ooo how warm! Are you trying to help me out? You're so sweet!" She cooed in your ear. A nasty and revolting sound. It ground your gears and you wanted her to stop talking.
Clearly the flames of your anger weren't going to help you. So what should you turn to? What could you do? Which of your abilities could actually kill this thing? With the other it was easy because they had not reached this level of power, always dying before or during transformation. Never after.
Fine. Then you'll just have to use your backup plan. You remove the red ring from you finger and throw it upwards to your mouth just as her spiked tail pierces through the soft flesh of your stomach.
The agony is short lived as the rest of her wraps around you- but your teeth clamp down on the red ring. Her false eyes widen as she tries to stop you but it is already too late, the band of the ring snaps in half and a blinding red light overtakes the empty skies of space.
The bright light soon faded and was replaced by the terrifying explosion of what could only be compared to an atomic bomb.
And though there is no sound in space, if you listened close enough you could hear the cries of a long forgotten soul, the angered sniffles of a lonely child, and the comforting shushes of someone who had too much hope for the both of them.

The last thing you recall is getting stabbed through the stomach while fighting a false god. You expected the burning agony of pain to strike a fire on all your nerves but the pain never came. The lack of pain only fuels your rage filled heart. Why wasn't this fight going as planned? Why was everything so...so peaceful? Where was the pain? The agony! The soul crushing wrath that had previously filled your heart and mind!!
Sunlight shines on your face and you find yourself laying on the flat floor of an empty glass greenhouse with plants all around you. From bluebells, to lily of the valley, to sunflowers, to pansies, and even the purple iris flower. A gentle breeze blows through your hair and finally find the courage to lift yourself up off the ground. Did you....did you die again??
What the fuck?! No, that's not what was supposed to happen. You were supposed to win! What was it all for? All this fighting? This pain? All those deaths. The fear? Was it all truly for nothing? Hot droplets of tears burn at the edges of your eyes before they come to fruition and roll down your face. Trails of marred and burnt flesh decorate your face in place of tears. Yet instead of anger all you can feel is unshaking emptiness.
In your rage you swiped your hands on the nearest table, knocking all of the potted purple hyacinth's to the floor. The ceramic pots shatter and dirt flies everywhere. Your dull eyes stare down at the broken pots with an uncanny emptiness.
What was this rage for if not to help you live? To survive? If it had no use for you then it was worthless to you. But before you could take off the ring a soft humming filled your ears and you turned to the newly opened doors of the greenhouse.
There stands your other half, looking as free as ever, with the only thing out of place being a small blue ring on their finger. You blinked and suddenly they were no longer wearing a deep blue turtleneck and pants but rather a skintight bodysuit with an almost all blue look to it.
The blue stopped at their hips and a black color descended downwards into a more flared pants kind of look with a white line running through the sides like a stripe. Their hands were covered in white gloves that stopped at the elbow and they had a classic black domino mask on their face that covered their eyes.
Damn. So they had a ring too? You would say you were proud of them but the fact that they had a blue ring made you a little annoyed. Did they lose their rage? Or did they never have the same amount of rage you did? How dare they have so much hope for the people who abandoned you. Abandoned them.
"Well? How do I look?" They did a spin and suddenly all the rage that was bubbling up inside you no longer seemed to matter. Just look at how happy they are. How could you ever be mad at them for that?
"You look...wonderful. Though I'm surprised you were able to get a ring considering our situation. But I guess your hope was too strong to be ignored..." You wrapped your arms around them as they clung to you. Tears fell from their eyes as the two of you let the wind and sky pass you by. "How peaceful"
"Don't you want to have a look around? I mean, I did decorate this place for you! Though I did have to make a few minor changes once someone new appeared" They removed themselves from your embrace and for a split second you felt yourself cling on tighter before you let them go.
'Someone new?' You wondered who that could be considering this place only ever had you and your other half. But someone small ran through the door with a pale yellow sundress and a white hat with a sunflower attached to it. They had short black hair and pale green eyes.
It was a child? How did a child end up here? Where even was here?
"Isn't she sweet?" Your other half nudged you in the side as the child offered you a freshly picked daffodil. You lean down and gently take the flower from her dirt covered hand. "She calls herself Vessel but that's not a name a child should have. So I named her Daisy"
Daisy perks up at the sound of her name and flashes you a smile that hurts your heart. And all at once it clicks inside your mind.
You've died once again. But this time you don't feel any tugging of your soul, nor do you feel anything other than acceptance. That was it. The final loop. There was no way for you to return now.
But that's fine. You could do the one thing you've always wanted. To stay with the one soul who could relate to your pain and agony.
Poor Daisy, she was so young when her life was taken from her. She had so much ahead of her. Does she even know what happened to her? Even if she did it wouldn't matter. It's fine. You could always accept one more person into your cold and bitter heart.
You look down at your red ring of rage. Did you even need this anymore? It's not like you'd die again if you removed it, you were already dead. You slide the ring off your finger and put it in your pocket. Despite no longer having a use for it- it was still one of the coolest things you've ever touched. Of course you were going to keep it! It picked you as it's owner, you'd never throw it away.
You intertwined your hands with your other half as they took Daisy's hand in their own. The three of you left the greenhouse and stepped out into the lights of a new day and the sudden urge to run through the green grass filled your soul.
You took off, pulling a laughing Daisy and your smiling other half with you. This was it. This was all you wanted. You were finally at peace.
For once a true and pleasant smile graced your face as the sun kissed your skin. A bird cooed in the distant just like you remembered from your childhood as the wind ran it's fingers through your hair. The scent of upcoming rain and flowers graced your nose as the grass softly embraced each step you took.
Silence filled the cave as they all started at the static filled screen. Did you just- did you actually fucking DIE?! Tim pulled at his hair as the tried typing away on the keypad to try and get another camera, but to no avail.
Jason looked defeated as he slumped into his chair. Another child of Wayne. Dead. And yet he had foolishly thought he could have prevented that.
Dick froze for a moment before turning around and punching the hard stone of the wall, creating a large dent in it, with an angered curse. Of course you died! The Wayne curse strikes again!! The one child of Wayne he had the most hope of dying of old age- died to some intergalactic wannabe god who had been toying with them like puppets.
Damian turned away from the screen with tears in his eyes and gently wept into his palms. How could you betray him like this? How dare you go and die in space! How was he supposed to retrieve your body if there was nothing left of it? Damn you!
Cassandrea patted the back of a teary eyed Duke. And even though Duke wasn't that close with you he still thought you were the breath of normalcy in his new life. But yet....yet here we are. You were thousands of miles in space and too far for them to help.
Bruce had left the room entirely. It felt just like he was losing Jason all over again but this time there would be no comeback. You were truly gone. There wasn't even a body left behind for him to mourn over. How could you do this to them? To him?? Did you not care what effect your death could have on him?
Or did he just not show his love enough for you to care? If only he had one more chance to rewind this, to have one last do over. He'd treat you right. He'd give you anything you ever wanted if only you'd just stay with them.
His heart hurt with all the ideas of things he could have done. All that time he could have spent with you if he wasn't off chasing the beauty of Justice in a corrupted city.
The rain within the city would go on for days as Lady Gotham weeps for her lost children once more. Another child from the city of Lady Gotham lost. And it wasn't even within her concreate walls! How dare that thing take you two away from her city. How dare it toy with her children! If it ever crawls it's way back to earth, back to her city, she'll make sure it never has a host to use.
Woo hidden ending!! Also yes this is kinda rushed, my bad chat. Unlike the good and bad end, you don't live! You totally die and enter the same purgatory you've been visiting in between loops! But it's probably one of the better endings of the trio, aside from the good ending. At least this time you get to have the peace you wanted? AND you get to spend it with the OG! Soul too, both your OG! and Y/N's OG! soul.
Wow can you believe it guys? My first time writing a part 4 without trying to wrap it up quickly to move onto other stuff. I think by this point this is my77th post? 78th? Depends on what time I post this one. Sorry it took so long!
This one is mostly inspired by songs! Mostly one of my favorite songs ever- Binomi
And before we start I would like to note that Y/N is heavily delusional and she believes that Reader would make a good host- despite her body's instinctive reaction to try and go away from such a clearly incompatible host.
Here's my warnings/disclaimers: Gore3, death, Extreme Body Horror, Reader has anger issues, Reader is a Red Lantern now, Parasites, First part of the story is from Y/N's pov, Y/N is NOT a good person nor is she to be pitied and trusted, Y/N knows exactly what she is doing, one sided romance [Reader DOES NOT want a relationship with Y/N], Genocide, Unreliable narrator for some parts, Hal is most likely VERY OOC, Does it count for cannibalism if one is an alien? LOTS of fighting!! Bugs, Emetophobia [Oh lord, I'm writing about my phobia here so please cut me some slack. Parasites and emetophobia is not a good combo]
If you could ask her how she ended up like this, chained up to a metal table and tested on like a lab rat, she would tell you that it's because she was such a tragic and pitiful person that it was fated to happen. But if you looked into her missing soul you would find a sea of apathy and narcissism that reflected what she really wanted.
She was this worlds rightful queen. She knew it from deep within her false soul. Despite the fact that she wasn't human it only furthered her idea of greatness. She who had no name, no natural body, no feelings other than pride. She was so sure it was everything she ever wanted.
With a deep echoing from her very ichor of blood calling for her to own this place, to free them from their humanity and let them all ascend into godhood like she would soon be stepping in to.
However she was no fool. She knew what she really wanted. For those around her to truly look at her like she was their queen without the help of her magical powers. She was envious of their natural ways.
Unlike her they had hair, flesh, and bones made so naturally it made her seethe. She wants what they have. She wants hair like theirs. She wants eyes to stare with, to take in all that there is to know about the human body. Hands that curled without being forced to, flesh that bleeds red, teeth to bite down. And even a heart to pump blood into her body.
She want's it all. Everything that made up a human, she wants it. It was only right that she got to experience humanity before she washed it all away for something greater.
But you, oh...you...how wonderful you were. You saw her for what she truly was. How exciting, to finally be seen. I mean, she was seen all the time but that was thanks to her hosts body and not really her. But You? You could actually see her.
She knows you can see the wiggling black tendrils stuffed into this meat puppet of a body. How romantic! To be exposed all the way down to the barest of your body by another. Oh, and the way you scowl at her with such hateful eyes! She's never been more enamored with someone who she couldn't control.
She wants you. She wants you to look at her and finally, finally, fall for her! She'll get out of this cell and when she does, she's going to have you.
Only look at her. Don't look at anyone else anymore, she can't bare the thought of you slipping away from her. They don't deserve you, only she does. Only she can handle that cold personality of yours. Even though you run so incredibly hot, so lovely and warm!! You're just what she wants!
You're the perfect host!
Even if you don't want her. She'll make sure that she will be the only person you could ever hope to rely on. She will embrace you, wipe away your tears, dig deep into your heart and curl up in the comfort of your body until the two of you decay as one.
Her next step of life is soon. She can feel the wiggling under her flesh as her hosts body finally collapses in on itself. She's done it! She can finally do what she was meant to do.
Y/N curls up into a ball in the middle of her cell. Her long blond hair curls around her body and forms a hard shiny chrysalis that can't be broken by natural means. Blue tendrils shoot out from the bottom of the shell and digs inside the earth, keeping it rooted in place.
How long have you been out here in space? Far too long it feels like. You want to think that time passes differently here than back on earth. But it all feels the same to you. Numb and distant like a dream.
You've been doing nothing but murder, and kill, and murder some more. Why? Because everywhere you look there's a planet suffering from the same parasite that drove you mad. It's like a mold that you can't get rid of until you tear down the entire house.
It seeps into anything and everything it can. Spreading sickness and hysteria into every living creature it comes across. Black ichor stains your hands and no matter how many times you try to wash it away, it still clings to your gloves. Just looking at it disgusts you.
How many lives have been taken by this thing? How many people were pushed around like you were? Toyed with? Murdered? Forgotten? You can't seem to bring yourself to step away from this maddening spiral of thoughts.
Your ears are already deaf to the screams of agony from the half melted butterfly man trying to force his way out of the core. You stare at him with apathetic eyes. This was all so...annoying.
You flex your hands and fly away from the crumbling planets core. Though you did try to spare as many non-infected you could find, there was no way to fix the planet itself. It had already crumbled under the parasites will and had started collapsing to feed it's delusions. So you did the planet a favor.
As you fly past another planet something green shoots out and follows after you. You speed up to see if it was trying to pass you or simply follow along. They speed up as well so you stop, holding an arm out to signal them to stop.
This is clearly a Green Lantern. What they were doing here was of no concern to you. You had more planets to destroy.
"Your name is...[Name]? Yes? From Earth?" Now that you can look at them, you finally notice that this is none other than the very hero that your original version liked so much. Hal Jordan.
Very well. If not as a show of kindness to the original then you shall listen to whatever he has to blabber about for your own curiosity. You don't speak, instead you tilt your head with a look of questioning settled across your features.
"Woah, okay. Have you been taking care of the Falsus Omnibus? I thought Atrocitus said to leave them alone because they were more trouble than they were worth." When he sees the glare starting to form he quickly backs up with his hands raised in defense.
"Do I look like I care about whatever this Atrocitus said?" You raise a brow.
"...alrighty then. You look like you're getting a bit homesick. Any plans on going back to Earth with me?"
"Why? Why should I return to those who have abandoned me? Replaced me with such a thing, I feel insulted just thinking about it." You cross your legs and move into a sitting position despite there being no chair in space. You form a red ball underneath you to support your weight as you mindlessly float about.
He doesn't say anything, he was most certainly not understanding what you were saying. Like a loser. You'll never understand why the original liked him in the first place. He looks and sounds dumb. Weren't there other, more cooler, green lanterns? Why did they have to pick this guy?
"Just...return home." He says with a sigh, head in his hand like you were giving him a headache. "I'll even go with you so you don't encounter trouble on the way."
You gave him a look. And then you were flying off in the other direction of where earth actually was.
Hal let out a sigh before flying after you in a race against time.
For as long as you could remember your life, your real one, was so utterly disappointing. There was no magic, no heroes, no over the top villains. Just...regular humans doing regular human things.
Some were kind, some were not. Just like it's always been. You liked to think you were normal, that you had no random quirks or little tidbits that deterred people from you. But you weren't blind to the truth.
You saw the way some of them looked at you. Like you were stupid. You weren't. Sure you struggled with some things but it wasn't like you were born perfect, nobody was. Yet they still looked at you like you were a failure.
Like you were weird.
You weren't weird. You were as normal as normal can be. You had your likes and dislikes, you had a favorite color, hobbies, a favorite animal. You hated school like everyone else did, and you liked video games like everyone else.
So why...why did they look at you like that?
Why did they frown and turn away when you tried to be friendly?
Was it something you said? Something about your outfit?
Your...personality?
You tried to make a friend once. At first it was great! You finally had someone to understand you! Someone you could share things with, do tasks with.
And then a new kid moved to school, someone you had never seen before in your entire life. And they started to talk with your friend. And then your friend said they no longer wanted to be your friend for your "rude actions" against the new kid.
You had never once even talked to this person. So how could you have been rude to them? But your friend did not spare a moment to listen to you.
So you withdrew yourself from them. Instead you turned to music. But you were not a musician nor where you a singer. Your hands too clunky for the tiny strings of any guitar, your fingers too stiff for any piano or flute. Your voice was too high pitched for tender songs, too deep for high energy ones.
No matter what you did, it wasn't enough. It wasn't perfect. You tried video games but your timing was too slow, your eyes too poor to see the darkened areas of the map. You could not code so you could not create.
You tried writing once, and after reading your own work you nearly burned the house down out of rage. Such clunky writing methods you used, terrible plot lines that seemed to tangle into each other like a ball of yarn. And by then you had no effort to try and improve.
So you withdrew yourself from the world around you and turned to the comfort of art. Of course even then you were judged for it. Your artwork was deemed....horrifying by those around you. Those who chose not to look deeper into the meaning and only saw what they wanted.
So you pulled away from showing your art and your solitary house was filled with paintings upon paintings of nightmarish creatures. Of paintings that showed death in both rude and unwelcome ways but at the same time in a gentle and peacefully manor.
Looking at comics was what you used to pass the time. You couldn't help but take interest in the world of DC. Such wonderful stories, lovely characters too. Though you had to admit that you quite liked the animated movies and that one cartoon taking place in the 'future' of Gotham.
And then you died.
But it seemed like death wasn't the end for you. You had discovered a labyrinth of doors. You opened each and every door until you found one that lead somewhere. Why were all but one empty? You would never know.
And there you found yourself. A mirror image of you. But they were small. Weak. They did not stand up for themselves. They did not speak their grievances. But you saw them for what they really were.
They were so kind to those around them. They tended to the plants when they had the time, they spoke to animals like they were the ones who put them on the earth. They avoided stepping on the daisies when standing in the grass, they trapped spiders to release them instead of squashing them. A spare dollar or two to those asking for funds. Community work just for the love of it.
They were perfect. Like an angel given human form.
And yet...they let themselves be pushed around and saddled to the sideline like they were someone forgettable.
It made you froth with rage. These people, how blind could they be? How could they shove this other version of you, who was much kinder than you ever had the chance to be, to the side like that?
So when their death drew near it was no wonder why you broke the mirror so you wouldn't have to see them perish.
But then you found yourself inside them. You were them. Your mind was now theirs, your thoughts became one and if you closed your ears you could hear them whisper to you.
Such lovely words of encouragement.
They weren't even mad. They enjoyed having someone else in this body with them, they liked that you could puppet this sack of flesh and they could simply watch without the burden of life.
They cheered you on, telling you the right answers for subjects they knew but you didn't. You could even hold a conversation with them if you focused on their voice alone. But the longer this time loop went on....the less you could hear them.
And what would you do? Without your other half? Your other you?
Your feet touch the smooth ground of planet earth, just two seconds away from the door of what you no longer had to call home. Your arms were crossed and your eyebrow twitched with annoyance. Why the hell were you back here?!
You tried to fly away from that stupid fucken Green Lantern but nooo! He trapped you in a ball, and then when you broke out the ball he trapped you in a freaking cube! A cube!! If it were not for the promise of not killing any Green Lanterns you'd have torn his heart out with your own hands.
You slam the door open, much to the shock of Alfred and Dick. You paid them no mind and made your way downstairs into the cave. Freaky ass rich people. Who even needs a cave decked out in fancy tech? You kicked open the metal door of the cell and stomped inside.
"Are you sure that's a good idea? We don't know what she'll do." Tim pointed his stylus, that he was using to take notes, at the golden and blue shiny shell.
You could hear the heartbeat of the thing inside the cocoon as it shook the ground. Apathy filled your heart the longer you looked at it. If you were any less you, you might have felt a twinge of fear in your soul.
A cracking sound sliced through the room and everyone stilled. With a wave of your hand you shoved everyone out of the room and through the door with a beam of red energy from your ring. The cocoon shuddered once, twice, and then it crumbled around the body of a beautiful woman with white hair and goldish-blue tips.
She had skin as white as paper with purple fingertips, but no mouth. She had eyes of course, just two empty sockets that bled a strange white goo that you'd rather not touch. The room around you wiggled and warped into a forest with purple leaves and blue bark.
However the forest didn't last long and the room turned back into empty stone of the underground. You laid your eyes back on her and even though she had no mouth you could tell she was smiling.
"It's you...you came back! Oh how wonderful! I knew you couldn't leave me, I'm simply too charming for you to resist" She clasped her hands together and floated around you like a snake.
Her hands ghosted your arms but you pulled away with a disgusted look on your face. She did not deserve to touch you. A chorus of 'how filthy' ran through your mind on loop. Her touch was vile and made you sick to your stomach. Everything about her screamed wrong.
So, without putting much thought behind it, you brought your hand up and punched her across the face. Her head snapped back too far and the flesh ripped at the base as a consequence. She let out an airy laugh as she used her hands to place her head back in place.
"How feisty! Oh I just love that spark of yours" Ew. You couldn't stop your face from contorting into a look of disgust. You don't question how she can speak without a mouth because this is a weird universe.
You grab her by the neck and throw her into the wall. Uncaring of the fact that if you broke any load bearing wall the entire mansion would crumble. Because why should you care? They did not care when you died countless times. They did not care when you got your nerves severed in your hand. They did not care for all the misery and misfortune they brought you.
But a quiet echo reminds you that this was something the other you cared about. It would be cruel of you to destroy such a place if it did not bring them joy.
So, out of the kindness of your cold dead heart, you will take the fight outside. Your hand stretches out and makes contact with the creatures scalp and you pull until the weight of this things body follows where you lead it. It doesn't take longer than half a second to find the two of you in space.
She goes for another swing but her reaction time is slower than molasses and you easily dodge it. She smiles and turns the swing into a hug, trapping you in her embrace as she rubs her flesh against your cheek.
You use your free hand to twist her head, hearing her neck snap a bit, and then punch her the head. Her grip loosens and you roundhouse her where your punch previously landed. She clutches her nose with an angry and shrill scream.
The red of your ring lights up and you trap her in a jar. You smile a wicked smile and shake the jar in all sorts of way to leave her disorientated. She flattens like a bug against the lid of the jar and reforms herself, only to flatten against the bottom of the jar.
She shrieks and claws at her hair in rage. Her body wobbles a bit like jell-o before it snaps straight up and her arms grow into large mantis claws. She turns her head to the side and looks at you with a cold glare.
"Enough! Do you think you can toy with me like this?" Her voice is burning with anger and for a moment you think she was finally going to stop acting like a love sick fool. And then her voice takes the tone of a whining baby. "You're so mean to me!! My dear, why can't you let me touch you?!"
"I don't touch trash" Was all you said before you conjured up a red truck and rammed her with it. The truck flings her further into space but she stops herself with her newly made butterfly wings.
She calls your name and sends a wave of pink towards you with her her mantis claws. Clearly this is some type of energy beam so you quickly dodge it by flying below it. However before you could fly back up something grabs you by the ankle and drags you towards her.
A sickly white lizard tail is the culprit and you find yourself struggling against the pressure of being dragged to focus on cutting it. So you bite into the scaled tail and clamp down. A wiggling sensation fills your mouth and you immediately spit it out to find a handful of black worms wiggling about in the flesh of where you bit off.
You gag and force yourself to not throw up, thankful that you got every bit of worm out in one spit. Y/N squeals happily for some odd fucken reason and her tail thrashes about like a dog's would.
"I felt it! The feeling inside you, oh so cold but so warm!" She cups her face with normal hands now, a joyous smile displayed as she spins around in glee. "Lets become one"
You conjure up a missile launcher and shoot her in the face. You'd rather saw your body in half the long ways, going from toes to head, than become one with her. An empty feeling settles inside your mind as the whispers get louder. Each whisper was trying to get you to trust her, to embrace her, to love her. But a louder voice chimes in with venom laced on every word.
"Why trust this two faced snake?"
"She has been the downfall of everything you ever cared about."
"She's the reason why you're here in the first place"
"Don't you know how much the original suffered because of her?"
"Think of how many times you suffered because of her"
"Kill her"
"Rip her limb from limb until there is nothing left for her to regrow from"
"Destroy her"
You growl and use a bear trap to catch her around the leg. It digs into soft flesh and her body begins to bleed black worms. And idea forms in your mind. 'Perhaps if this body bleeds out all the worms, then all that's left is the shell' The idea seemed good enough to you, so you yanked her towards you with a chain.
It was clear with how she giggled that she had a different idea of how this was going to go. You grabbed her by the hair with one hand and the legs with the other. You pulled with all your might and she clawed at your hands but to no avail.
All you hand the chance to do was look up before you locked eyes with her. Her body was flying at you with a speed she hadn't shown before and in your moment of thought you did not notice the spiked tail behind you.
A hot flash of pain shoots through your stomach and you grit your teeth. You won't die like this. You won't!
To start over...after all this pain? This suffering?! No! You're going to make this thing choke on your emotions. It'll be the last thing you do!
A warm hand brushes the hair from your face. You know these hands. A soft voice urges you to wake up and you open your eyes to find the face of the original soul staring back at you.
"Why do you falter? You are mighty, I have seen the carnage you've done to other worlds." They tilt their head at their own question. The ray of sun beats down on your body and you note that there is no wind today. "Listen to your heart."
"But..I don't know how to go about killing them. Nothing seems to work." You whisper back.
"Then...listen to your heart. I know you know what I mean. You've heard it echo before." Your eyes glance past them and you swore that you could have seen the glittering light of something blue flash in the sky. "I believe in you. I always have. You were the only one there for me. The only one who...cared when I was suffering"
You bring your own hand to cradle theirs, pressing it against your face as you close your eyes. They were the only thing grounding you. Everything you did- it was for the betterment of the both of you.
Your stomach grumbles and they smile. "You should wake up. I have a feeling you already know what to do"
Your eyes snap open as black tendrils cover you from chest to feet. The ring burns around your finger and you are thankful that they were too stupid to remove it. You glance around the open space as blood drips from your open wound.
There in the middle is the floating body of Y/N. However the more you stare the more you note that something is off. The flesh around her stomach and chest have started to...crack?
A hand breaks through the stomach. And then another. And something forces it's way out of the body. The arms wrap around this mass of wiggling ink and the hollow body crumples into dust in the air of space. Two hands turn to four, and then six, and then eight. The four arms near it's back shutter and morph together into a massive wing as a slit appears on its face.
All that forms is a toothy smile of a mouth. Sharp teeth line the mouth in rows of three. The mass of ink molds itself into a half humanoid that almost resembles...you. But the arms are too long, too many, and the legs are too crooked. It hair wasn't even the same, just a flowing mass that had too many eyes in it.
What an ugly looking thing.
"See? I'm just like you now! Oh rejoice as you gaze upon my beauty. Truly I am the most perfect being in all the worlds. Aren't you happy for me?" Their voice sounds like it has more of an echo behind it but other than that nothing changed.
You glance at the tendrils around you and narrow your eyes. You focus on creating a red energy field around your body until it grew in size and forced the tendrils to let go of your body.
You flex your hands and red glowing claws pop out. It takes you half a second to jump in front of her and cut her in half. You slice at her again and shred her into seven different parts- only for her to morph back together like dough.
Your stomach growls but you brush it off. Now isn't the time to be hungry. Not when you were in a fight. Your hand, not the one with the red ring, gets caught in her mouth.
Flesh shreds from bone and you stab her in the stomach in retaliation. When you finally get your hand back it's no surprise when you find that you are missing two fingers. You look back at her to find that she was chewing on your fingers! Hello?? Those were yours!
You breathe a bit heavily through your nose as you burn the wound on your hand to cauterize it. You flex your hand, ignoring the pain, and look back to her. Well what's one more injurie to the list?
The two of you continue to fight as the two of you trade punches and jabs. The more you look at her the more you just see her as nothing more than a plate of squid ink spaghetti or a rope of licorice. Something to eat. The feeling of hunger presses down heavily in your gut and crawls its way up your stomach with slimy acid burning away at the linning of your stomach.
The nearby planet the two of you were fighting next to ends up casting a shadow over your face. You stop where you float, hands clenched as your teeth dig into your lips. You can't stand this feeling anymore. Y/N stops and looks at you with confusion in her many eyes. "Why'd you stop? Don't tell me-"
"I...am so hungry." Your teeth hurt with an aching need and your body is starting to shake like you were suffering from low blood sugar. You close the gap and your teeth latch onto her skull. Your teeth crunch through the bone like it was a chocolate bar and you devour.
You tune out her screams as you continue to feast. Brain, hair, skull, neck, lungs. You force it all down to satisfy your hunger. Your teeth gnaw on the bones as you greedily rip flesh from it like this was a 5 star meal. Like this was the last meal you were ever going to eat.
The taste was unlike anything you've ever had. It was sweet savory, a little salty in some places, but oh so good. You could see why people liked her, she tasted wonderfully on your tongue. The false blood danced on your taste buds like a thick sauce. Your hands dig deep into it's body like a starved animal. You can't stop the wicked smile blooming on your face with gleaming eyes.
The more she tried to regrow herself the more you ate. That's all you could do. A burning feeling curled through your stomach with a terrible emptiness that seemed to never be satisfied. With every bite a tiny bit of that feeling chipped away just ever so slightly.
Blood drips from your mouth and you lick your lips to clean it up. You eat until there is nothing left but bones. And you eat that too. When you are finally done with your meal you feel satisfied. The burning in your stomach settles and you can finally relax.
Is that really all it took? Hunger? No doubt if anyone were to see you now they wouldn't even be able to recognize you from a week ago. Had everything really happened in a week? It feels much longer than that.
A week ago you were losing your mind believing you were stuck in some magical death loop and that there would be no way out. Yet here you stand, or well float if you want to be exact, with missing fingers, a red ring of hate, blood coating almost every inch of you, and a stomach finally full.
You lick the blood from your hands as you lower yourself into the earths stratosphere and back into the troposphere. Your feet lands on the pavement right outside the manor. For some reason you feel like this would be a turning point in your life.
Do you stay? Help them with the knowledge you've learned and cure them of their....illness?
Or do you take this chance to fly away? Far, far away, into the depths of the skies- until there is nothing left to remind you of earth. You could be free. Free as a bird, free as a cloud, never tied down to anything and able to do as you wish.
'Won't you...help these poor souls?' A voice reminiscent of yours echoes inside your head and you, reluctantly, open the door.
Instantly a blur of motion shoots out and tackles you into a hug. Both you and whatever it was that tackled you land on the cold concrete with a dull thud. You look down to whatever this thing might be and find the worried face of your younger brother looking back up at you with tears in his eyes.
The sight would have tugged at anyone else's heart strings, but it did not work on yours. But you sigh and pet his hair anyway because you aren't that cruel. Well, you are, but you aren't going to raise a hand to the original good's family like this. He hasn't really given you enough reason to.
Yet.
Next comes Bruce and Dick. The two of them nearly squish you with how tightly they hug you. Your eye twitches. Why the hell are they so handsy with you now. You're STILL covered in blood of a false god! What the fuck!!
"Never do anything like that ever again! Don't you know how worried I- I mean we were?" Dick blabbers into your ear like a worried mother. You spot Tim hiding in the doorway. He blinks and you blink back. Then he gives you a thumbs up and turns away.
Thank god one of them is somewhat normal. Jason walks over from who knows where and pulls you out of the hug, and you ignore the way Damian was fighting with Dick because there wasn't enough space for both of them. You think he would have set you down after that, but no. No he hugs you with a tight grip.
"That was the coolest thing I've ever seen someone do." He sets you down and you nearly collapse. Sweet mother of mercy, someone save you from these freaks.
You wobble due to lack of strength and lean on the nearest person, who just so happened to be Bruce. "Just....let me sleep." Is all you say before you pass out.
Which is to be expected considering you did fight, and win, against a near immortal being who had toed the line of godhood. So it's only natural that they clean you up and put you to bed.
After being told, by Tim, that they had all been "poisoned" by Y/N and that you were the only one that could help- you ended up staying at the Manor for another year. Finally you had reached 19 years of age and didn't die at 17! Sadly you missed your 18th birthday being in space but you didn't really care that much for it.
You actually managed to work out a deal with the rest of your soon to be distant-family. The deal basically goes like this:
You'd stay with them until the dangers of the withdrawals passed and in return you'd get the one thing you've always dreamed of. That's right! A secluded home next to both a big flower field and a large ass lake! And also cash money. And I don't mean the chump change kind of money, I'm talking that cold hard millionaire type.
Of course you didn't make it easy for them, and they did everything in their path to try and get you to stay longer. But in the end you managed to get your way.
So here you are, flying through the sunny skies with your boxes all held in a red box. Sure Bruce tried to get you to use his spare private plane. But you told him that you needed to feel the wind on your face and he let it go.
When you finally land you'll plant a tree, a giant willow tree like the ones in your dreams, and you'll make a grave. You'll take the green lantern tin and burry it deep into the soil before carving a small stone headstone with the time and date of the original's death. Bellow that will be one single line reading "The best of all of us" and a [f/c] ribbon tied around it.
You'll wear your best outfit and pair them with the famous [Last Name]'s aquamarines as you grieve for the only person who had ever had faith in you when it counts. Your dearly beloved other half. The original owner of this body you inhabit. The other you.
With your new found freedom you'll take up many hobbies and learn many more things. With time you will regain some bits of your sanity and mourn your old life too. But you will be happy.
Despite being so full of rage, you will still be happy. Happy because you are finally free from it all. Sure they will occasionally visit you and try to convince you to come back, but you've grown to find it funny rather than annoying now.
For once in your life you think this is a fair and fitting ending. You wouldn't have it any other way.
And that's it! Boo for the fighting scenes I know, but I have no clue on how to right a proper fight scene. It just feels like "They both punched each other. Bam, pow, and all that" whenever I try lmao
But anyway this is the Good end! Yipee!! At some point in the future I'll probably writing for both the bad end and the hidden ending.
Soo everyone knows how I'm writing part 4 yeah? But part 4 will most likely be the ending to my Crazy!Reader series and I have three endings I'm thinking of.
Reader gets what they want and gets to run away BUT it's after they stick around until the poisoning of the Batfam is gone
Reader leaves and the Batfam have to suffer until one of them eventually finds a cure WITHOUT Reader.
The bad end where Reader doesn't get to leave and is stuck with them for good.
The people have spoken, happy ending it is!! Due to my chaotic schedule for this next week I may or may not be able to drop the chapter this next two weeks.
But who knows what I'll do with the other endings, perhaps I'll write a little snippet on the more popular endings d==o(≧▽≦)o

I thought y/ns kind aren’t able to feel love so what are y/ns feelings towards reader? Is it considered love or just general obsession over something you know you could never have
If y/n could go back in time and have reader eventually love them woild y/n do it?
You are correct! What Y/N feels isn't love, just obsession! She doesn't want a relationship, she's only acting this way because to her that's what makes people fall in love with her. She thinks it's a great idea to try and charm the uncharmable because then it would mean that she's better than others.
Y/N would loose interest in Reader if Reader ever did fall in love with her, but only a while after she's gotten her fill of 'romance'. She thinks the chasing is the only part that matters because once someone is under her charm she can freely feast on their love without having to put in effort.
At first Y/N would be overjoyed about having "feelings" like humans do, but then as time passes she'd realize the only thing she can feel is her own hunger for attention and nothing else. Like how a spoiled child would beg for an item only to hold it just once and then throw it to the floor after getting it, that's how Y/N would treat Reader.
Sorry if this all sounds confusing, I'm currently writing while I'm sick haha
Can I ask why y/n was obsessed with us and if she still is after we basically burned her alive
Also I’m sure the batfam are gonna find a way to dissect and kill y/n
I just see y/n becoming the family’s test subject and depriving her of the food she needs which is love. I can see them bascsially isolating her until she starves to death or experiments on her
Basically there's two explanations for this!
The first is that Y/N knows that Reader can see them for who they really are. Y/N is well aware that Reader is immune to her charms, and she thinks its so charming!
The second is: Ever have an allergy to something you want to try so, so, badly? Like any time you see it you want to risk it all just to have a bite of that thing even though you know it will harm you, and possibly kill you? Yeah, that's how Y/N feels looking at Reader.
I was just thinking y/n is like a thousand years old correct or what is their actual age since we know reader is 17
Y/N is roughly 112! However she's only been a human for 10 years, not counting the time loop, but for 100 years she was flying through space as a tiny little worm just too far away for a planet to bring her into orbit. And for the other two years she was searching for the perfect host!
If she had her own body, and was human, she'd actually be 20! Just three years older than Reader. But because she's not human, her age is a little wonky compared to Reader.
I have two songs that remind me of crazy reader cell block tango and rhinestone eyes for some reason those two are so fitting for them
Also how old is reader? Are they an adult or a teen?
Oooo those songs are quite fitting for Reader! Chicago and Gorillaz have some good music. Personally I think "In Aisles" from Neros day at Disneyland the first half of "Your Obedient Servant" from Hamilton [you know the part that goes "How does Hamilton. An arrogant, immigrant, orphan, bastard, whore's son. Somehow endorse Thomas Jefferson, his enemy, a man he's despised since the beginning, just to keep me from winning."] fit Reader as well! Well, I think it describes their rage a bit.
As for Readers age they are still a teen! Their 18th birthday is actually right around the corner and their original plan was to leave the manor once their birthday passed.
Sadly, things took a very sharp turn and here we are! In fact this is the fastest timeline they've been in, as all other lives took forever for them to die. Usually at this point in time Y/N would be at the Manor and Reader would be hidden away until a few months later where something would cause their death.
Sooo, I'm sure some of you already dying to know how the falsus omnibus reproduce- and how Y/N came to be! So here I am, also I noticed I forgot to describe another detail as to why they are hunted to near extinction. This is kinda short....but oh well! I must further your understanding of this world for the betterment of Part 4!
This WILL contain some minor spoilers for Part 4!
Here's some basic warnings before I get into even more detail about my most dearly beloathed creation: Talks of Parasites, the end of a world, death, body horror
My goodness, it just dawned on me that I never explained how they reproduce! Well, you remember why I said they don't care for each other because they consider each other threats? Well- it's mainly because they have to fight each other to survive!
When two or more Falsus Omnibus are on the same planet it soon becomes a race to godhood! Who can devour the most love? Take the most powerful for themselves? Become ruler of this world before the other has a chance to steal it away? And thus the two beings will tear each other apart limb from limb until nothing remains but their "shells" heart, and on that same note their real selves.
First will be their low level "servants" whoever those poor souls may be, then will be their high level devotees, and then from there it will soon only be just the two of them left on a destroyed world. Whoever lives gets the "right" to reproduce, though if the planet only has one Falsus Omnibus then they will already begin their plan for takeover and also their plans to reproduce.
See, the Falsus Omnibus are akin to worms but not really! [Well aside from looks and all] Like worms, they are very cold blooded, but unlike worms they do not need a partner to reproduce! But I guess you could say they are more alike to different species of invertebrate family than they are to just the worm!
The Falsus Omnibus seek warmth! But not just any type of heat, no they want all the heat they could ever desire. Sure lava and fire could satisfy them but it's only for a moment until they are...so very cold. But what's this lovely thing that all planets have?
A core! The Falsus Omnibus will dig down through the earth in search of it's core to lay it's clutch at the very center. However this poses many problems to the planet and it's habitants as it will drain the planets core until nothing is left aside from a wriggling mass of newly born Falsus Omnibus- thus the core collapses inside itself and the planet explodes!!
But what about the new Falsus Omnibus offspring? Well, because of the exploding planet it flies throughout all of space until it get's sucked into a planets orbit and falls! And then they continue the cycle once more.
However the only way for these creatures to reproduce is by ascending to 'godhood' and managing to break free from their hosts newly hallow shell! These creatures can get up to around half the size of Earths Core, which is 2,165 for reference [meaning they largest they can go is 1,034!!]. Though there are some cases where they only get as tall as a human, but that's mostly because they choose to breakout of their shell prematurely or their ascension gets interrupted!
They are quite the nasty things? No? But you might be thinking, "How can we get rid of them?"
And the answer to that would be, freeze it! Such fickle creatures are weak to the cold. But it doesn't have to be real ice or cold winds. No...these things only go for kind creatures to take the form of. Mostly because it's easier to recreate that kindness and to also trick them into getting closer. But it's also because they have such warm hearts. However if your heart is as cold as ice, full of hatred or an icy anger, it will be detoured from trying to take over your body!
But there is a way to force them to you and devour them. "Beat them at their own game" as the saying goes. But such cases rarely happen, just like the ascension of a Falsus Omnibus, and only happen in a blue moon.
By forcing the Falsus Omnibus into an incompatible host it will try and find a way out by any means necessary. And if it doesn't? Then it will wither away and die without ever finding its way into your icy heart. But it's very hard to try and get to the things real body, unless you are willing to eat a heart.
And if it has ascended then finding it's true body will be even harder! Instead of being in the heart, it will lie in lungs.
Haha and that's all! I hope this was a bit educational as I don't think there's any other topic to cover for the Falsus Omnibus.
And yes I'm using the taglist again as this is very important to chapter 4: @iloveescara @nobuswife @place-holders-things @fauna-the-bizzy-bee143 @meosksnekd @starseekingaheart @mydarlingelena @rad4bean @cheshire-kitsune @somebodyrandom-613 @soley02 @shanabtsarmy @friskalicousbiscuits @holderoflostmemories @famouspartymugnerd @the-midnight-king-of-poets @cecil-the-crybaby @red-hood132 @diorsvnz @ememgl @serapinaxx @mymmyrym @starberryzinnia @sleepy9sstuff @d4rkf10w3r @cryptidkai @bath1lda @alishii @077-vikkus @yuurisfavblog @ghost-of-the-firefly993 @nirvanaxx1942 @yukihanaki @idkwhattosaynowsorry @mitsukichiis @chairoart @igaku-kun
Wow can you believe it guys? My first time writing a part 4 without trying to wrap it up quickly to move onto other stuff. I think by this point this is my 69th or 70th post, depending on if I posted that fluff one shot already...
As you can see in the title this is a wip, so it's NOT finished. Also I'm thinking about renaming the series to Red Lantern! Reader
Not many warnings for this one as it's a dream sequence and still a WIP: Death, body horror, Paranormal stuff, Red Lantern Reader, Check the date
We're no strangers to love
You know the rules and so do I
A full commitment's what I'm thinking of
You wouldn't get this from any other guy
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
We've known each other for so long
Your heart's been aching, but you're too shy to say it
Inside, we both know what's been going on
We know the game, and we're gonna play it
And if you ask me how I'm feeling
Don't tell me you're too blind to see
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Ooh (Give you up)
Ooh-ooh (Give you up)
Ooh (Never gonna give, never gonna give)
Give you up
Ooh-ooh (Never gonna give, never gonna give)
Give you up
We've known each other for so long
Your heart's been aching, but you're too shy to say it
Inside, we both know what's been going on
We know the game, and we're gonna play it
I just wanna tell you how I'm feeling
Gotta make you understand
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Yan! Batfam x Neglected! Dimension Traveler! Male! Reader [Fluff/Angst]
This is mostly inspired by this quote I saw that goes;
"The Fool opens every door. Never knowing what is behind it, and yet, he walks forward ever more. That is the role of The Fool" Ooor something like that. I just remembered that one bit lol.
For a bit of context for this one; Reader is the bio child of Bruce, like Damian, but aren't apart of the superhero night light, unlike Damian, and is often left out of things because of this. However because of them being left out a lot they turned to reading as a form of escapism and in doing so they end up discovering an artifact stashed away in a book that lets them travel through the books world.
Am I projecting my escapism habits onto Reader? Yes, yes I am. But can you blame me? Reading was everything for me, and it still is!
Like always, here's the Warnings/Disclaimers: Child neglect, child abuse [NOT for the batfam], Reader is a bit self deprecating, Bullying, Violence, Death, Magic bs, Dimension Traveling, Time Traveling, I throw in a bit of lighthearted whimsy and joy for once, Everyone rejoice for I bring you FLUFF [Buuut not with the Batfam...for the first bit at least], Crossovers include irl books/comics/movies and games, references to my other works
You set down the book in front of you, your fingers tracing the edges of the pale blue hardcover as you do so. Once again you had been left all alone inside the empty walls of the Wayne Manor. With your family nowhere to be found you had, once again, stuck your nose between the pages of a well loved book.
This time you were planning on reading something new, something you hadn't yet read from cover to cover. Your hand moves from the pale blue cover to the jade green cover instead. This was a book you had bought from an old thrift store one rainy day. The thrift store was named something silly like "Rootin', Tootin', and Lootin'" or something like that, you have a feeling it was named after something in a video game but it's not your place to judge, and it was filled to the brim with fancy and shiny trinkets ripe for collecting.
However you were not there to take a look at the trinkets, though a silver compact mirror did seem to call out for you but you turned away. You had two goals in mind and that was to buy some new books and get a sweet treat at the end of it.
Sadly the trinkets will just have to wait. That being said your eyes land on a stack of books balanced neatly on the only plastic chair in the store. You scane over the titles and find that you have actually read most of these, all except for two books.
One was called "Midnight Travels" and the other had no name. Only a jade green hardcover and an engraving of a fancy archway made from two willow trees. If you had looked closer you would have noticed all the little details littered on the cover, but you had already decided to buy the books.
Midnight Travels was a good read. The plot was cohesive and the characters were all loveable in their own right. It was about an adventurer trying to find the meaning of his own life. But along the way he meets a sarcastic dragonkin, a scarred blacksmith, a sickly magician, and a hungry satyr. Together they travel all over the world, meeting new people, doing fun and adventurous tasks, and growing close enough to be labeled family.
The ending is very sweet and it made you yearn to be apart of such friendship. To have someone by your side the way the protagonist had his friends. For a small moment your heart hurt with the thought of your family but you brushed the thought away. You had your books and...they had each other. But you also had Alfred, and Alfred the cat, so you weren't exactly alone.
Though you knew it was out of obligation of Alfred being the butler of the manor. You wouldn't call yourself unique enough for Alfred to personally take note, not with the way you saw him interact with the rest of the manor. That would be silly. You pet Alfred the cat, who was loafed next to you, with a sad smile.
The second book turned out to not be a book at all. It was all hallowed out on the inside despite the fact that you know you had flipped through the pages in the store. Instead of words on a page there was a small green pendant tied to a black string. The necklace called out to you, a deep echoing in both your heart and mind to put it on.
You stared at it for a moment, pondering if you should wear it, before you slipped it over your head and around your neck. Once it was fully on, resting on the smooth skin of your chest, it started to glow. You attempted to pull it off but to no avail. In a fit of panic you stumbled backward.
You attempted to brace your self for the harsh impact of the wooden bookcase but you phased right through it. You continue falling downwards and you end up falling right through the floor and into a long spiraling hole.
"Oh! Goodbye Alfred, goodbye" Your words echo throughout the tunnel and all the cat does in response is yawn before setting his head back on the table for another nap. At least you got to say goodbye to someone?
Damn. You have a feeling nobody is going to notice you missing...not for a while at least.
Darker yet darker you fell through the winding passage of earth as many objects floated past you. If you didn't know any better you'd say you ended up filling Alice's shoes and had stumbled down the rabbit hole. Your eyes spotted a wooden wardrobe, a golden throne, many tea cup sets that looked far too fancy for the modern day, a purple cat with a large grin, diamond accessories, and even a large bat.
It seemed like the fall was going to last forever and the objects seemed to dwindle the longer you fell. You turn every which way until you find yourself landing on a soft flowerbed of wild flowers.
'Wow that was a long fall.' You think to yourself as the soft petals of what looks to be a purple coneflower brushes against your face. You don't find it in your heart to swat it away so you just push it aside.
You groan in slight agony and let yourself lie on the flowers for a moment. Just to catch your breath you say, but you know it's because you don't want to face whatever it was you stumbled upon. Moments pass and you finally get the courage to stand.
Around you is a long towering library that towers both above and below. Plants bloom in every direction and blends into the structural design, giving the room more of an elvish art nouveau look. You have to admit that it's quite pleasing on the eyes.
You can't help but look around the seemingly abandoned library with a childish curiosity. Everywhere you looked were different sections of literature ranging from comics to even religious scriptures to even books about video games! There was even a section for minecraft and minecraft related things. Your hand brushes against an old book that you used to read and reread in your darkest moments for a bit of comfort.
A jolt of electricity pricks the hand that brushed the cover and a light green glow covers both your vision and your body.
The green glow that just encased your entire body fades and you blink your eyes to find yourself standing four other children outside a bakery. The cold chill of the night makes you shiver and you pull your newly acquired green cardigan closer to yourself as the children look at the various products on display.
"The cake is good, Jessie," The youngest of the four of them said, and you raised a brow. Don't you know this line? I mean it sounds very familiar to you.
"Yes, Benny," The tallest girl said as she crossed her arms, "But bread is better for you. Isn't it, Henry?" Could this be...the boxcar children? But how could you be standing here with them? You were just in the library!
You stare at the basic cookie neatly laid in front of you and you feel a small pang of hunger pass through your stomach. Of course you brush it off as you were no stranger to missing a handful of meals on the account that you simply forgot to eat.
You tune back into the conversation as the three turn to you with a questioning look on their face. "Don't you agree, [Name]? Bread is better than cookies and cake." Jessie is the one who speaks, and you simply blink in shock.
"Well...yes?" You answer after a slight pause, wondering what your relationship with them were. Did you somehow hit your head and conjure up this fantasy? Or was this a fear toxin thing? You did hear about Scarecrow breaking out earlier today.
Benny tugs on Henry's shirt and loudly whispers to him, "I think big brother is forgetting things again." You pull a face of confusion at the accusation of forgetting but there's nothing you can do about it. Even if you didn't forget anything, you still didn't know who you were to them. Well, aside from being their 'big brother'.
Violet purses her lips and grabs your hand, gently squeezing it. "Don't worry [Name], we will help you remember." She says so confidently that you can't help but smile. This was too real to be a hallucination, I mean can a hallucination hold your hand? Well yes, but the physical weight wouldn't be as real as this.
"Thank you Violet." She smiles widely with stars in her eyes. She turns to the others with a proud look on her face, "He remembers my name! And I didn't even have to tell him!" Jessie and Henry share a look before smiling and pointing to themselves.
"Do you remember our names as well?" The two of them crowd around you with shock. Damn, did this other version of you not remember anything? How shocked were they that you remembered their name when they literally just said it a few seconds ago??
"Yes? You two are Jessie and Henry...my...my brother and sister" You hate the way your face burns in embarrassment at calling them your siblings when you didn't even know them that well. Hell you wouldn't even call you or Damian siblings and the two of you shared blood.
Actually the two of you were more like roommates who didn't really cross paths unless strictly necessary. The two share another look before smiling as well and crushing you in a tight hug. Violet and Benny join in and you struggle to breathe. Who would have thought four starved children had tight hugs?
"Wonderful! I knew you were going to get better soon!" They finally let go of you and you have to wheeze to get some air back in to your lungs. "Well, lets go get some bread. Maybe they will let us stay here for the night."
All of you enter the small bakery and the woman at the counter, who you easily recognize as the bakers wife from the first half of the book, stares at the five of you. The same woman who wanted to keep Jessie, Henry, and Violet as unpaid workers while sending Benny to an orphanage. Which...in this currently timeline was not the brightest idea. The 1920's was such a weird time.
Jessie stood at the counter and smiled politely, "I would like three loaves of bread, please." The woman did not smile back. She waited until Henry handed over the money before giving him the three loaves of bread.
"Will you let us stay here for the night?" Jessie asked, clearly referring to the plush red benches that lined the walls. Though you'd really rather not stay here due to the fact that this woman was actually kind mean for no reason. Like who tries to separate a family ? You understand that this was the 1920's and that people were incredibly rude and dumb when it came to stuff like that, but damn.
She just hades children. Speaking of, how old were you? Were you still your original age? You look down at your hands with a pondering look. You wonder if you were a middle child once more, or if you were the oldest of them all.
"We could sleep on those benches, and tomorrow we would help you wash the dishes and do things for you." She continued, and you wanted to frown. There was one thing you hated more than starving and that was physical labor. Well aside from cooking. God damn could you whip it up in the kitchen.
You silently thank Alfred for the cooking lessons as you let the conversation pass you by. Well right until Benny says that they have a grandfather who was alive, and also lived in Greenfield, but didn't like them. My lord, this kid had no filter.
"Why don't you like your grandfather?" The woman, whose name you never even remember learning, asks.
"He is our father's father, and he didn't like our mother," Henry says with a slight shake of his head, "So we don't think he would like us. We are afraid he would be mean to us."
Benny wiggles out of Jessie's grasp and blurts out, "And [Name] keeps forgetting things so we have to remind him of lots of stuff." Jessie gasps and covers his mouth again. Ah, now you remember why you didn't like Benny all too much.
His childish nature was simply too naïve and foolish for you. You were aware he was a child, and that children should be children, but you can't help but feel a spike of anxiety every time he opened his mouth. Mostly because you were worried he'd end up getting smacked around like you did at his age.
Ah, not to say that the people in the Manor hit you or anything. They didn't really see you, so how could they hit you? The answer is very simple. Your poor mother, whose passing you're still not over, had very poor taste in partners.
They were honestly the worst. Do you know how annoying it is to get smacked around for asking an honest question about why you had to clean the house while he did nothing all day? You remember that one time he grounded you for an entire three months because you were being loud. Dude wouldn't even let you out of the house.
All you did those three months were go to school, clean, read, and repeat until you asked your mom if you could use the computer for a school project. Turns out she didn't even know you were grounded, and then that started a fight with you and him for 'going behind his back.' Grown ass man by the way.
And that one time he threw you across the room for giving him a 'look'. Or that one time you had to stand in the corner all year and you couldn't sit or go to the bathroom without asking. Or-
Okay you need to stop thinking about that. The past is the past. You can not change it no matter how often you wish to. The conversation has long since passed and everyone else was starting to settle down for bed. A slice of bread is presented to you by Violet.
"You should eat too." She nudges the bread closer to you and you take it from her. The bread, which was actually a baguette, tasted crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. Huh. So that's what the bread tasted like.
When you first read the book, at a really young age, you had thought it was basic sliced white bread from the store. This is much better than a single slice of bread. Though if you had some jam or honey, or perhaps even a slice of meat, this would taste much better. It's kinda...dry.
"Thank you Violet." You ruffle her hair and she looks pleased with herself. It hurt to see her try and act mature at her age. Ten year old children should not be acting like grownup. Children should remain children for as long as possible while getting a proper education so they don't grow up to be dumb adults.
You pick her up like you would a cat and set her down on one of the red benches. She looks a bit puzzled but you ruffle her hair again, messing up the yellow headband she wore. She lets out an offended "Hey!" but you just smile and try not to laugh at her.
Jessie and Henry lean closer to the door, hearing the baker talk to his wife about what to do with all of you. "I'll keep the three older children. They can help me. But that little boy must go the the Children's Home. And that other one, the dumb one, should be sent to a Mental Institution."
The baker agrees and Jessie and Henry let out a silent gasp of both rage and shock. The two of them wait until the both of them have gone to bed and turn to you, who was sitting in the corner with everything already packed up.
"Oh, Henry!" Whispered Jessie, "Lets run away from here!" You forgot how strangely they spoke, though I guess you'd be the one strange since everyone in the book speaks like that.
"Yes, indeed," Henry crosses his arms with an angry huff. "We will never let Benny go to a Children's Home, nor will we let [Name] go to a Mental Institution! Never, never!" Oh lord. These people are kinda dramatic...but you can't do anything about it. That's just how the story was written, and that's how this one will play out. "We must be far away by morning. But we must not leave any of our things here."
You raise the laundry bag, with everything inside, and point to Violets little workbag sitting next to you. "It's alright, I've packed everything up already. Shall I carry Violet?"
"How did you...never mind, this must have been one of your gut feelings." Henry shakes his head and picks up Benny. You gently lift Violet into your arms while you hand the laundry bag to Jessie. She goes to pick up the workbag but you wave her off, picking it up yourself.
The five of you quietly leave the bakery and walk into the night.
"Are you sure you haven't seen him around? We were supposed to meet up at the freaking coffee shop near the school. Did you check the library?" An angry voice nearly shouts over the phone. The voice belonged to your friend, Percy, who you had promised to meet up with for something book related.
"I'm very sorry, but there is no sign of [Name] anywhere in the manor" The soft but slightly annoyed voice of Alfred responds. Of course he was more upset at the fact that you were missing, and not the fact that your friend was angry with him. It's good to see you have friends who care about you, rather than those old ones who kept trying to pester you for both money and other stuff.
At least you were learning to make new friends who didn't swear at him. He knows how much you regret bringing home your first ever friend, who turned out to be a major asshole. You still apologize for it to this day.
"Ugh! Okay, well, if you find him let him know I'm worried about him. It's not like him to just...disappear"
"Very well. I will let you know when I find him." When, not if. Alfred would not let you go so easily. Your quiet nature reminded him so much of Bruce when he was still recovering from his parents death. But unlike with how he let Bruce run off to the Tibetan mountains to learn from monks, he would keep you here.
Let you grow up normal, well as normal you can be with a tragic dead mother and vigilantes for family. He hangs up the phone and rubs his eyes. Did you really have to fallow in your fathers footsteps and disappear? He can only hope you won't come back with crime fighting skills and try to throw yourself into danger at every turn.
"Whose missing Alf?" Says headache number two, or Dick Grayson to be exact. Of course you go missing on the day Dick comes to visit. How perfectly timed.
Alfred sighs before speaking, "Young master [Name] has been missing for apparently four hours."
"[Name]? Oh, don't they normally stay in their room and the library? Wonder where he could have gone." Yeah, well so does Alfred. He looks at the time and notes that it's close to dinner time. A lightbulb goes off in Alfred's mind.
Perhaps he can get Dick and the others to look for you? Maybe then they'll take notice of how sad you were by yourself.
"Do you mind looking for them? I have to start dinner now if we want it done at a reasonable time."
Dick says nothing for a moment, probably weighing it against his original plans of patrolling with the others. He sighs and then turns to leave, "Okay, I'll find him for you. Only if you make cookies!"
You walk alongside Henry as the two of you enter the town. You clung close to him, your hand holding on to his sleeve as the two of you walked down the nearly crowded street. You didn't know how this would play out, unlike what you knew would be happening with the other three, this part wasn't talked about in the story.
"Do you think we should buy some more bread?" Henry asks you, not minding the way you clung to him. It was nice to see you walking around again, he got so worried whenever you'd stare off into the distance and forget things that you were just told or had witnessed.
After that fall down the stairs you couldn't recall things like you used to. And that made everyone worry, including him. Despite you being the older one out of all of them by at least a year and few months, he took it upon himself to care for you like you were the younger brother.
"Bread would be nice...though we should get the milk last, as we don't want it to warm up while we walked around." You respond. You really didn't like the taste of milk, so you'd probably be handing your share to someone else.
"That's smart, then we shall get the milk last." Henry nodded like you just gave him wisdom from a wise old man. It really wasn't that smart, though you still smiled a bit at the praise.
The two of you wandered from shop to shop and you took the time to note how cheap the prices seemed compared to the modern age. I mean, 25 cents for an entire pound of roasted ham sounded cheap as hell. Though you knew it was still regarded as expensive.
You caught yourself looking at the books, and Henry did too. Your eyes skimmed the titles for anything you knew. Sadly it was too early for any of the Lord of the Rings but there was a book full of Edgar Allen Poe's work.
Oh how you longed to read some of his poems again. But now wasn't the time. There wasn't enough money to spend, and you really didn't want to make the others have less food so you can read a book you've already read ten times over.
You pulled Henry along, missing the way his eyes lingered on the book. You carefully added up the price for more bread in your head and then turned to Henry to ask him for the money. You wanted to pay, because lets be real when's the chance to pay for something super cheep ever going to show up again? Nah you wanted to save the feeling of getting groceries with chump change.
With the bread in hand the two of you pay for some milk and head back to the boxcar.
No matter how hard Dick looked he couldn't find you anywhere in the manor. It was like you had simply vanished. So he turned to the rest of the family to try and find you, though none of them knew where you were either.
At this point it was starting to stress him out. So he doubled back to the library to see if they had somehow hidden themselves away like they used to do when they were younger.
When he found the table you were at, all he found was Alfred the cat pawing at a blank green book. The rest of the books on the table were stacked in two piles and it looked like you hadn't gotten very far in reading all of them.
He picked up the green book, running his finger along the spines décor. What a strange book. It had no title, no words, only a single carved space between the pages to fit...something. Dick narrowed his eyes and closed the book. Clearly whatever happened to you had something to do with the empty space in this book.
As much as he doesn't want to admit he knows he needs to tell the rest of the family, and call for a magic user. Dick sighs and heads down to the hidden cave.
You stand idly as you watch Henry run the race. You can't believe how fast the story had progressed. Well actually you can considering it was a short book with only 154 pages of writing. But still, seeing the book nearing it's ending made you want to tear up a bit. You don't know what will happen once the story ends.
Would you go back to the library or back to the empty manor you called home? Could you even go home? Tears prick your eyes and a taller man hands you a simple blue handkerchief. You look up to find the worried eyes of a man old enough to be your grandfather looking down at you.
"What is the matter? Did you get some dust in your eye?" He asks you and you want to cry even more at just how similar he sounded to Alfred.
You, not risking a chance you might break out into tears, nod and wipe your eyes. Once the moment has passed and you've stopped getting teary eyed you looked back to the man. He looked a bit like an older version of your father, Bruce, but with more grey in his hair and more wrinkles.
"...um, thank you. I didn't mean to start tearing up like that." You run your hand over the edges of the book Henry had secretly gotten you. Though you had nearly cried when you saw him holding it out to you, you had graciously accepted the book. "I think I just got a bit...homesick."
"Far from home are we?" He asks while patting your shoulder with just enough force to feel comforting.
"Yeah, you could say that." It's a little off putting to be asked so many questions by someone who looked like an older version of your father. His eyes landed on the book in your hand and smiled.
"I see you like reading. I admit I'm quite fond of reading as well."
"I love reading! I think it's a great hobby to have." Your eyes land on Henry just as he crosses the finish line. "Oh!" You point at him, waving back once you spot Henry waving at you, "That's my brother. I have to go, sorry for taking up your time."
You rush off to go an celebrate with your new-ish family. Despite only staying with them for a few days it felt like you were really apart of their family. The man watches you leave, a wave of nostalgia washing over him as he does so. Why do you look so familiar?
Dick sets the book down on the giant desk next to the monitor. "I'm telling you this has something to do with their disappearance!"
"What the hell does a book have to do with them disappearing?! Are we sure they just didn't run away?" Jason yells back, his hand pushing the book away.
Tim frowns as he rechecks the security cameras recording. He just couldn't understand what caused the flash of green light which was followed by you disappearing. He turns back to the two and clears his throat. "Ahem. If you haven't noticed the giant fucken screen that shows them opening the book and quite literally vanishing!! The book definitely has something to do with them going missing. However I can't seem to zoom in on whatever was inside it, as it keeps glitching."
Tim spins around in the swivel chair and intertwines his hands together with an annoyed look on his face. "We'll have to call Zatanna or, if we're desperate enough, Constantine."
Damian doesn't say anything. Only studying the book in front of him. He flips from empty page to empty page, ignoring the carved out rectangle in the middle of it all. One of the pages near the very end of the book actually contains writing, so he begins to read silently to himself.
For those alone without any hope,
Longing for an escape from reality,
Do not mope
Bear witness to this abnormality,
Enter the Labyrinth of the Minds Heart
What a weird poem. To Damian it seemed like utter nonsense but he knew that it was probably very important to where ever you ended up. How dare you go missing. He had finally worked up the courage to talk to you without allowing his pride to get the best of him. He was going to ask you about all the books you've read.
Damian doesn't say anything, other than tracing the outline of a faint dent in the pages. It looked like the object that was in here held a bit of weight to it.
The story had ended after you had reunited with your grandfather. He of course was the same man who had helped you dry your eyes. And now you stood back in the library.
You were holding The Boxcar Children in your hand as you blinked once again. You set the book back in its spot on the shelf and looked at the other rows. Does touching the books cause you to be transported there? Or does it only happen when you have a deep connection to the story?
Deciding to head towards the game section, which was full of what you could only assume was physical copies of the games rather than a compute that had them downloaded, you subconsciously ran your hand along the case titled "Red Dead Redemption 2" and a green light filled your vison.
Zatanna sat at the batcave with a sour look on her face. "Do you actually understand why them having that artifact is bad? Or do you just believe they can do no wrong?"
"Zatanna. I trust your judgment but there's no way my child, the only civilian in the entire family, has plans for world domination. They like to read. That's it." Bruce crosses his arms in anger. Sure he doesn't know much about his son, but have you seen them? They look like a sad wet cat who can't even stand without shaking. And she thinks he will use his new found knowledge to overthrow the world?
The two have a stare off and if this was an anime there would be lightning striking between the two of them. "I'm not saying he's going to take over the world, I'm saying you should at least make plans if they one day have a change of heart! You don't know what infinite knowledge can do to a person."
Bruce goes silent for a moment. "Fine." He lies right through his teeth. His son would never do something so stupid, he was a good kid. At least that's what he wanted to believe with all his heart.
"...Fine." Zatanna was going to continue arguing with him but after seeing that look in his eyes, she relents and changes the subject. "Anyway. From what you described it sounds like he ended up in possession of the Dragons Heart."
Damian spoke next, arms crossed, "And what does the Dragons Heart have to do with the poem in the book?"
Zatanna frowned, "I'm guessing whoever made the book had found the original tale of the necklace. Which, before any of you ask, is an old myth about a Dragon from the east who had witnessed a terrible act that had scarred the dragon mentally. Though none of the myths or retellings can agree on what the dragon saw, most have concluded that it was a death so tragic that it couldn't move past."
Zatanna points to an old scroll on the screen behind her, having used the remote to flip through a slideshow she had prepared after hearing about the details of the case. "Basically the dragon got so emotionally upset that his mood started to have an affect on the weather. Which of course caused many storms much to the dismay of the local farmers. So the farmers got together to pray both to Chuángmǔ and her husband Chuánggōng, the Chinese gods who apparently hold power of the bed. Including dreams and recovery"
"Let me guess, the two of them made an object that allowed the dragon to go somewhere else to process his emotions." Dick leans onto the table, his head rested in his hand.
"Yes. Well, kinda. The story goes that upon first arrival the Dragon had nothing to do, so the dragon started to build a library containing every piece of literature the world had to offer."
"Ah. So how do we get to him?"
"The dragon? Not possible. After the dragon used the necklace he never showed his face again, though I'm betting money that he changed his form to continue collecting stories."
"Of course." Jason huffed as he leaned back in his seat. Of course the all powerful dragon just dips. "Anyway we can get inside the necklace?"
Zatanna pondered for a moment and then nodded. "Of course. But it's not going to be easy."
You lied on the floor of the library, tears clinging to your eyes as you pressed into what used to be a gunshot wound. One moment you were ridding on your horse to find Arthur after he just up and disappeared on you, and the next you were shot in the neck by someone hiding in the bushes.
Thankfully the wound had not transferred over to your body in the library. Your hands shake and you can't stop crying. Is that what death feels like? It was so sudden and so very painful.
You place the book back on the shelf and stumble away from it. You needed a moment. And in the lonesome library there is no one to judge you for your tears.
Perhaps something more light hearted would cheer you up? You glance at the shelves to try and find something more light hearted but instead all you can find is more video games. You don't think you can handle another risk with death so soon, so you turn to the movies.
Maybe Barbie? You can't really go wrong with a Barbie movie considering they always end on a happy note. You touch the case of Barbie and the Diamond Castle.
Bruce stood at the edge of a glowing green portal in his regular clothes. He didn't want to show up dressed as Batman. This was something he had to do dressed as himself.
"Are you sure you don't want us tagging along?" Dick stood behind Bruce.
"Yes. I can't risk the rest of you getting stuck in here too."
"Well...try not to get lost. We want both of you to come back in one piece." Bruce didn't say anything in response, only nodding as Dick walked away.
Okay so it wasn't the worst but it was really weird to have a guy hit on you so blatantly. I mean, you knew that the protagonists had love interests but you thought you were going to end up as a side character. How were you supposed to know you were going to be the younger brother of the two protagonists?
You shiver at the memory of the guy kissing your hand as you were whisked away by the rainbow. It's not that you weren't interested in men but rather the fact that the guy looked exactly the same as his brothers and was not apart of the original story. Which is really, really, weird to look at considering they were just a copy and paste of each other. Literally.
However what was tugging at your mind was that one of the ladies looked eerily similar to Cass. Though you didn't have the chance to talk to her as you were pulled away to leave the tavern.
Something inside you urges you to grab another book. Another adventure. So you comply and grab another movie. This time it's an anime called Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. The same green glow lights up your eyes and then you're off.
Bruce wonders the halls of the library, looking up and down to try and pinpoint where you are. He stumbles upon a horror book he used to read. Foolishly he reaches a hand out and touches it.
Only to find himself stuck inside the book with a younger version of you standing beside him.
You're back in the hallway once again. Having cried your eyes out the whole time you were celebrating the end of the fight. You had witnessed the sacrifice of man, the greed of another, the death of many, and yet you couldn't help but smile.
You had endured so much just to finally make it to the end with a heart full of hope. You feel proud yet sad. Sad because you had to leave them behind.
This time there was someone who looked like Dick. You wonder why they keep showing up.
You end up going through many stories, all from ranging from various genres. You had ended up a pirate aboard the Black Pearl, a Crystal Gem fighting for Beach City, even a rebel in a war on a minecraft server, in fact you had even ended up fighting zombies in L4D2 with the rest of the gang. From the most mundane of tasks to fighting world ending threats you had done it all.
You had ended up becoming way too fascinated with these stories. Any time you were sent back to the library you picked up another book, another case, another movie. Anything to fill the void in your heart.
And it worked! You enjoyed all the friends you made, all the sights you saw, the people you've supported. You got to experience everything life had to offer you and then some.
And through every story there was at least one person who had looked like your family. You missed them, but you aren't too sure they missed you. Had they even noticed you were gone? You doubt it.
Your eyes land on a row of comics titled "Marvel" and right next to them was something called "DC". Of course you went through the ones titled Marvel as that was what caught your eye first.
It was a wild rid. Many things kept happening and then at one point you had ended up in the movie versions? You didn't even know there was a movie version.
You ended up becoming friends with some spider guy and the two of you kept meeting each other while you were traveling through the other stories of that world. He was really sweet! Though he had like three different movie versions of him, each with a slightly different personality, but all still wanted to be your friend.
Isn't that amazing? You had managed to befriend this person not once, not twice, but three times across the multiverse!
Bruce stood next to the pile of books that he had pulled out, and all traveled through. Why do you keep dying? Why is it that every time he enters these worlds a version of you shows up, and then dies. Every. Single. Time.
From old age, assassination, an accident, even sickness. Every story he ended up in, no matter how cruel or how kind it was, you kept dying. What could he do to change it? Was this labyrinth trying to warn him that you were fated to die?
At one point in time he had even began looking for you and disregarding the plotline entirely. Each version of you had, on some level, distrust in him. Why did you think he was going to leave you behind?
What made you so afraid to trust him that you'd run off to other people? When he gets you back, in the real world, you won't ever have the option to leave. Why? Because every time you leave, you die.
What a terrible maddening cycle. A father having to watch his son die again and again.
He has to find you, the real you. Something tugs in his heart and he knows that once he gets out of here you will never be left alone again. He'll do whatever it takes to keep you from dying.
As you wiped your eyes you stared down at the comics. So that's what it was. They were all heroes and you weren't. Was that why you were left out all the time? Because you didn't pick up a mask and join them?
Even if you did, you have a feeling that you wouldn't even be a successful hero. They all had years of training, and all you had was the experience from these different worlds that you weren't even sure could go with you into the real world.
For some reason...in these comics you didn't exist. When you traveled through them you didn't take the place as any sibling related to them, nor anyone around them. You were just....an extra who stumbled upon a few fights here and there.
You didn't really go out of your way to dawn a mask and fight crime. Why would you? They seemed much too happier without you. Sure they did fight more often but they seemed to have a stronger bond without you in the picture.
Was this a sign for you to leave them? Was this the world telling you that leaving was the best choice? You wipe away your tears again, feeling like a big crybaby for how often you started crying.
But it wasn't your fault! A lot of emotional things just kept happening.
Unbeknownst to you Bruce was running through the halls to try and find you. As you struggled to grapple with all this information of the world, and the heroes within it, you didn't notice his approching footsteps.
He stumbled upon you sitting in the comic section. A tower of comics with the blue label "DC" were piled next to you and he could see an image of him dressed as Batman on the cover. Putting two and two together he could tell that this library had somehow gotten information of him and the rest of the heroes, and had turned it into a comic.
And with the strange magic in this place you had no doubt seen everything. His parents death, his darkest moments, how he had met your siblings. So no doubt you knew all about them too.
So you knew. It doesn't matter to him. He pulls you into a hug, a silent tpromise passed through his head that he would never let you suffer again.
"Lets go home, Bruce. I'm tired" You whispered into the hug. Your emotions had long since boiled over about missing your family. You don't care if they wouldn't accept you as one of their own. You just wanted to go back to your bed.
The adventures were nice, but you've grown tired of them for today.
He hates how you don't refer to him as Father, not even Dad, just Bruce. Do you not see him as a father figure anymore? You used to call out to him so happily. Was it because he had forgotten to pay attention to you?
He swears he will be a better father if you just stay by his side. So just...stay with him. Stay with the rest of the family. They all seem so eager to make up for lost time anyway with how they searched for you.
Can't you see how much they adore you? You belong to this family. You can't even escape in death.
When the two of you finally get home you are immediately hounded by the rest of your family. You really didn't think you going missing for a total of seven hours would cause this much panic. Thinking about it just seemed to ease a certain ache in your heart.
You had to be examined by Zatanna after your many travels but was ultimately given the okay and you were left to your own devices. She didn't even ask for the necklace back, only asked that you didn't try and take over the world.
Of course you said yes, having gone through a handful of revolutions that were caused by someone trying to do a total take over. And then with that you moved on with your day like this was the most normal thing in the world.
However it seemed like your family weren't so willing to let you run off. Someone was stationed by your side like a hallway buddy. It kinda pissed you off because you weren't a child anymore. They didn't need to watch you like a hawk.
Though you guess its a bit nice that they want to spend time with you. Damian even asked what type of books you'd recommend him, and then the two of you entered a discussion before Jason joined in and it became a three way argument on what trope was the worst.
You said enemies to lover because you hated how they always made the protagonist date the very same person who was laying belt to ass. Damian said that one sided love was atrocious and that if the person didn't share the same feelings then it was best to move on, as apposed to acting foolish and chase after them. Jason of course said that forgiving the bad guy was the lamest trope ever.
The entire argument of "If we kill them, then we are no better than them!" was what pissed him off the most. Like of course that makes you better than them?? They killed, hurt, and have done so much to harm to other people that killing them would be the better option.
Then Dick stole you away to go out for dinner. Apparently he had promised you fast food a while ago and you didn't hear him? You have a feeling that he was talking about that time you asked him for Bat Burger once three years ago. Which. Wow.
At least he was trying to make up for it? But you asked for that three years ago, did it take him that long to notice? Good lord.
Tim and Cass didn't really say anything other than squishing you between them like a sandwich when you tried to watch something on the Tv. When you tried to get up for popcorn Cassandra had actually thrown her legs over you so you couldn't move.
Tim ended up getting popcorn and soda for the three of you. But instead of sitting back down and leaning on the armrest like before, he had leaned into your side and refused to move. Which wasn't that weird, just a little odd.
But what was even weirder was that Bruce wouldn't respond whenever you called out for him with anything other than Father, Dad, or B. Like??? He used to respond to just Bruce when you called out to him before, which granted wasn't a lot, but now he doesn't?
Your family has become quite confusing while you were away. Would it be rude of you to say that you kinda whish they didn't change? You miss your personal space.
Is this rushed?? Oh my goodness gracious, YES! I wanted to write so much about the other worlds that I almost forgot about the Batfam entirely.
And also you might be going? Why the Boxcar Children? And well it was the only book I saw next to me at the time, and I thought having Reader [who doesn't feel worthy of love] spend time with a very close knit family would do them some good. Also Reader, in the Boxcar universe, suffers from retrograde amnesia after falling down the stairs one day. Basically retrograde amnesia is when you lose past memories rather than struggling to make new memories- which is anterograde amnesia.
Ahhhh this took me so long to write and I'm not even happy with the ending. I really gotta figure out how to amplify the yandere feelings in my works. I'm totally cheating you guys, I'll do better (;´д`)ゞ
Anyway, anyway, here's that taglist and I am done for the day!!
