[ TEXT — Sunshine ♡ ✔ sent 03:25 PM ] ↳ You know you can always talk to me.
Younghee threw her phone to the side of her new and soft bed. She wasn’t sure if she was overreacting but Soohyun had been MIA for the past few days. And being the honestly true friend and sister figure she was, she was naturally bothered. There wasn’t a doubt in her mind that the younger could handle herself well enough. She remembered how she proved Younghee that she was independent and womanly enough. Sometimes, the older had to be careful of her actions. She knew it was easy to fall for someone who took good care of you.
While she waited for a reply, she decided to log onto her social media, sighing at the amount of unread Facebook messages. They were from numerous girls both strangers and acquaintances. One was from her aunt who was trying to find out her whereabouts. Apparently, her cousin was in the area after studying in Barcelona. She knew that her cousin only wanted to introduce her to her friends as a huge spectacle because of her sexual preference. Straight girls who wanted to try a new adventure. She was all about having sex with girls but not for anyone’s personal enjoyment but her own.
In the end, she threw her phone away and used one of the two pillows to hug, turning sideways as she closed her eyes and waited.
(.......)
She shook her head and reached out to ruffle the girl’s hair (again? She wasn’t sure. It was a habit she had grown used to.) and laughed. “You need to chill out. You’ve been stuck inside that hole for days. No wonder you’re left with no inspiration.” Younghee took a nacho chip and dipped it in salsa sauce, opening her mouth wide for the chip. She liked how it was the kind of spicy that made her want to run to the nearest sink to wash her tongue with water, soap and everything else. She felt sweat beads run down her forehead as she continued to eat. “And no, you’re going to let me torture you with lecture for a bit before I let you off.”
With a mischievous grin, she raised her hand and ordered another set of nachos. She looked at her burrito with shining eyes and peeled the foil wrapper away from it. She added more salsa and a bit of garlic ranch to top it off and ate away. Waiting for today of all days to indulge in her cravings was definitely the best decision. She felt like the waiting was worth it. Or maybe she was just a masochist. “Anyways, back to you. You should go out more and experience things rather than just sit there and write it out. Imagination is good but you’re not just a fiction writer.” Who knew that she actually made sense every once in a while?
She was half finished with her burrito now and it’s only been a few minutes. Her face was red and she didn’t even wear make-up when she went out. With a plead from her to the watress, she was given a large pitcher of water. She poured some for the both of them and drank hers all in one go, making an ‘ahh’ sound after. Her tongue still felt like it was burning but at least she knew what burning hell would feel like from the inside. She downed another glass of water and asked for some sugar as well. “As for me, it’s still the same. Nothing new. Just moved into this place. Candy? That’s what it’s called.” She pondered on the change she had to go through moving in with those like her (or at least on their way to) and she couldn’t help but smile. “You should come over sometime. It’s great.”

( .......... )
Younghee helped herself to the cereal in front of her, making sure to put in a lot of jam on top. She had been craving for some since last week but only got the opportunity to eat it today. While she washed her hands, she faintly heard the twist of the knob and the echoing of steps inside the house. Someone was home, it seemed. She was curious but maintained calmness. The steps were getting closer which meant that its destination was the kitchen. She made sure to take another boal of cereal with milk before she turned and sat back down.
It seemed that the girl was out of sorts that she didn’t even receive a greeting from her. She was close to the fridge which made it impossible for the other to notice her. She smiled slightly, turning to look at her as she opened the fridge. Her eyes trailed themselves on every slope and curve of her volumptuos body. She was granted the pleasure of gazing at her face and was struck with a buzz. She was gorgeous. Exotic in a way that she could not fully describe since she was not one who knew their way with words. Attraction was another word for it. That much she knew. She couldn’t help but let her smile grow as she looked at her then finally hopped off of the chair. She slipped her hand inside her pocket. Her handkerchief was dirty, she was sure, because she used it mostly to wipe her hands off of ink. It would seem she needed it, however, seeing the state of her make-up.
“Good morning, yes. You look like you could use a good night’s sleep.” Younghee walked towards the sink, washing her handkerchief diligently with cold water. Once it was clean enough she walked towards the other again, stopping in front of her. “I’m Younghee, not a god. But still pretty alright.” She gave the other a small smile and handed her the handkerchief before turning back to her food. This time she ate standing up, leaning against the counter. She munched her food quietly and when she was content with what she was eating, she opened the fridge again. Something sweet would be nice. She also wanted to smoke but ran out of her last packet. There was a convenient store nearby but she didn’t want to leave the girl.
“Are you hungry?” She asked suddenly, turning to face her again.

“Just do it.”
“No, Seunghee. Not today,” she answered with a wave of her hand.
A groan slipped past the female sitting beside her. Younghee raised a brow. She was the one who had every right to do that, not her. She’s been here since earlier, insisting that she should go on a date with her. Dates weren’t Younghee’s thing. Fucking was. All of these dramatic and romantic gestures simply made her uncomfortable. This girl wasn’t the one to make her change so easily.
“Please? I just...I really want to know you. I think I lo--”
Younghee held up a hand and finished the sketch she was doing for a customer who was going to arrive in the afternoon. She turned and walked towards where Seunghee was sitting, running her finger against her cheek down to the curve of her jaw then to her chin, lifting it up so their eyes met. “I don’t do dates. I don’t date people. I fuck them. It’s just how it is.” As an act of pity, she kissed the girl’s head, knowing she was only eighteen who probably had the best orgasm of her life that night. She then pulled away, only for her hand to be grabbed by her.
“I’m not using that as an excuse! You...you have to show me there’s someone who can make you happier than me. I know you’ve been seeing someone. I’ve heard from your co-workers,” she said desperately, gripping her hand even tighter.
For the love of God. Not her again. I knew it.
Another sigh slipped past her lips and she ran her fingers through her hair, messing it up even further. “Alright. She’s busy now but I’ll try calling her.” She paused briefly, fishing her phone from her pocket. “You’re going to leave me alone after this, right?” The girl nodded and waited anxiously for her to call the said girlfriend. Younghee could already predict what the one person she was calling right now would say.

The air was colder today than yesterday, Younghee noticed. She froze more than normal whenever she went outside of the shelter. The kids were playing and entertaining themselves indoors because there was ice outside. It was too risky. The adults forbade it. They would not have another injured child crying at night. The medicine was costly and they were poor enough. Younghee came the day before and she was already regretting.
She was there on the steps, her bum cold but she was also bored. She used a stick to trace words and figures on the thin layer of snow. She was just passing time as usual. Reflecting mostly. On what she should do with her life. Her only family probably loathed her for running away. But even more so for kissing that girl in her room. She felt a rush of heat course through her body because of the kiss and she didn’t know what would’ve happened had they been left undisturned. With a sigh, she threw the stick on the backyard. “I fucking hate this place,” she said loud enough.
With a swift rise from the steps, she walked down each step, slipping almost but not quite yet. She braved the ice that was masked by the illusion of soft white snow. It was cold. Her feet were numb already. She was only given slippers to wear, after all. She kicked each snow pile and raged, expressing her anger, sadness and frustration. All of those trapped in her little body.

↳ Fuck okay, give me half an hour i have to finish something up.
She threw her phone in bed, a frustrating sigh escaping from her lips as she stared at her laptop. She haven’t really written anything at all, all she had pure utter garbage that she chose to delete after realizing what she wrote wasn’t making any sense at all. It was already a week since she received this assignment and yet she haven’t really written anything nice, she was trying but eventually she fails. Maybe she should get out after all, maybe going out and seeing the outside world would give her ideas for her essay.
And within a few minutes, she closed her laptop, her hand rummaging through her desk to grab her keys, wallet and everything she needed, completely leaving her room and the house.

↳ You better not be finished eating when i arrive there. I’m almost there.
With a few turns of the steering wheel, there she saw the restaurant she and younghee loves to eat. As soon as she saw where Younghee was sitting, she approached her, sitting opposite to her, a sigh of frustration coming out of her lips. “Hey…”
Younghee sat back on her chair, waiting for her order. There were more people than usual at the restaurant, probably because of their new promo. She was alone at the Candy House and had decided to eat out just because she missed having a good burrito. The Mexican food in the restaurant was good and usually her tastebuds rejected anything spicy. It only took her a few minutes before receiving a reply from her friend. She snickered, pressing the buttons on her screen eagerly.

↳ Why do you have to take so long????
By the time she had sent the last text, she was already being served her food. She ordered two burritos, one that was her best friend’s favorite and one hers. She had ordered nachos and beer for the both of them as well. It was Friday, she could use a stress reliever. Maybe after they ate here she would take them to the nice frozen yoghurt place. Depends whether she had enough money for it, really.
Her phone vibrated beside her and she lazily tapped the screen to enter her password. She laughed at the other’s text, tempted to actually start eating just to piss her off. But she stopped herself and waited, flirting with a customer who sat behind her. Though she was with her family having dinner and she sure as hell can’t come with Younghee. They were about talk about when to meet next time when she saw a familiar head of messy black hair. “Excuse me,” she said to the girl, smiling at her.
“Hey,” she replied. “What happened to you? You look as if someone made you run across town.” She turned to face their table, gesturing to the amount of food she so generously got them. Younghee rarely had money to feed herself. And even if it was cheap Mexican food, it was still money she could have used for other things. “I made the liberty of ordering food for us already. Those nachos have been asking me to eat them out but I told them to wait.” After she said that, she nudged her friend, hoping that she’ll relax a bit. “Relax and indulge in the feast in front of you.”

“You’re going already? The sun is barely out...”
Her smile was easy, aloof nevertheless genuine. She found her question amusing, to say the least. They all said the same thing after all. She busied herself with putting on her belt and slid her hoodie over her head and down her torso. The girl whined in a voice that she used earlier and she draped herself on Younghee’s back, asking her not to leave. But she must. It was a one night thing and they both knew it. Expecting her to stay over as she cooks breakfast pretending they’re lovers wasn’t her thing.
“I have to get home. I have unpacking to do,” she said to her, granting her a kiss that seemed to ignite the fire in her. But she pulled away before she was forcefully pulled back to the bed and closed the door behind her.
Minutes later, she was putting on her helmet, hopping on her motorbike. She drove off without as much as a goodbye to the girl, knowing that with the size of the city they lived in they would never meet again. Or perhaps they will. Nothing will really change then aside from the fact that she will bed her again and leave her the next morning. The cycle repeats. The Candy House will be a place for her to get to know others like her. And perhaps have a fling or two. Relationships that mattered to her were friendships. She won’t be involved with anyone romantically anytime soon.
When she arrived, she parked her bike in the garage, making sure to lock the handles so that no one tries to steal it. She used most of her money to get her hands on it. She used the keys distributed to them to let herself in and navigated herself to the kitchen. She was surprised they were well stocked with food and grabbed some cornflakes, milk and jam. With a smile, she set them on the table and went to her room to get clothes. She needed a shower badly. And once she was done, she sat on the high rise chairs in the kitchen and ate her food silently in her boxers and muscle tee.
