Ok so. Last month of my second year of University. I’m gonna be calling a partial RP Hiatus until the end of May.
I don’t normally do stuff like this but I’m really behind and need to catch up. So basically I’m gonna fit in the occasional reply when I can but don’t expect much activity until the end of the month.))

Seems anyone that looked a little different was a cosplayer in people’s eyes. She’s fallen guilty with that mindset though, but now it was awkward when people asked which anime she was from; or if she was dressing up as an OC. A little awkward.
Elise nodded to hearing about a female demon and nodded slowly to the fact she can combust someone with ease. “…That doesn’t sound awesome.” Then her eyes laid on the beads and raised a brow. “How does this work exactly?”
“Well, she is one of the three Elder Demons of fire. If nothing else her powers are fitting.” Bao remarked with a shrug. “Each demonic realm has three Elder Demons who are essentially a... governing body of sorts. They make sure things run smoothly in the realm and that the lesser demons and imps are not getting out of line.” He gestured to himself. “I for example, am one of three Elder Earth Demons.” He explained simply, before pointing a clawed finger at the charm.
“This particular amulet was enchanted with a powerful fire-resistant ward. Essentially acting as a kind of shield against extremes of heat. While this enchantment will wear off in time, it will probably last you most of your life, if not the remainder of it.” The Demon informed her simply, nodding his head a little.

She nodded at the warning, “I’ve heard horror stories of shifting gone wrong but something about it calls to me….if that makes sense. Would 200 gold for both be okay?” She could go as high as 600 but that was her spending limit. It would probably help the coins where hefty and decently sized.
Bao frowned at that. “I would be cautious. I’ve heard tales of such callings actually being an attempt to have another turn into a more suitable form for possession or hypnosis. Shapeshifting is a dangerous art for more reasons than just malfunctions while shifting.” The Demon warned her. “As for the price, that is suitable.”
It was gold after all. Bao wasn’t going to complain about that. He rather liked gold if he was honest, currency or none.

Cards were more convenient, it made transactions that much easier. It was a daunting thought to think that, eventually, even they would become as tedious as handling pure cash had become. The idea of the future in general was daunting, frankly. “It would make transporting easier, but…I won’t need to leave this establishment to travel with it.” he said.
He had tugged out his own phone, seemed to be checking some account. Having apparently confirmed what he needed to confirm, he pulled a sleek credit card and went about with the transaction. “I can leave in the traditional manner if you’d prefer.” either way, he didn’t mind.
A shake of his head as he tapped in what he needed to, signed where he needed to. “Nervous is one way to put it. You’re too kind with your words.”
“A moment please.” He stated, dipping into the back to retrieve the sword’s case and returning moments later, setting the blade carefully into the plush lining and closing it delicately. If this man’s customer broke the damn thing after all of this, Bao himself would track them down and... well that’s best left to the imagination.
“Leave how you wish, as long as it doesn’t make a mess or break anything.” Bao said, gesturing the shelves and floor. “It’s a pain to have to clear up after guests. I had one utter idiot who used some fire spell and left scorch marks on my floor.” He muttered, his irises shifting into his equivalent of a frown as his brows let out a sharp crack with his change of expression.
Bao chuckled lowly at that last comment. “There are many who would disagree with that sentiment. It may just be today that I am in a less foul mood than usual.”

“A Charm would be good. Just something that wouldn’t cause any suspicion to others. No offence, but, as much as I like to look of these staffs, walking around with one isn’t exactly normal. Only if you’re Cosplaying…” She explained with a small shrug. Best way to describe it and say ‘No thank you.’
“I’d rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.” Elise hasn’t met anyone with fire abilities, but if she did and it caused a fight, then she’d rather be prepared with backup.
“Being discreet with your magic is key in this day and age. I understand perfectly.” He remarked, setting the staff aside and heading to the cabinet where he kept his charms and amulets, all neatly hung on little pegs behind the glass. “Ah yes. I myself have been mistake for one of these... cos-plays.” He muttered, sounding a little bitter.
“That... is a remarkably sensible outlook. I will commend you for that.” He admitted, with a nod. “There are some particularly potent fire wielders out there. One of my cohorts for example, Aug, one of the three Elder Demons of fire, is capable of making her enemies spontaneously combust.” He chuckled dryly, removing a charm that appear to be a fang with numerous etchings in its surface accompanied by several, polished black beads. “These one here should suffice...”

She was gentle with the book as she skimmed through it. “How much would this cost? And do you have anything on shape shifting?” The elf was excited and honestly thrilled at what the demon had.
“Seeing as you are clearly new to this, and I admittedly have something of a... ‘soft spot’ for those who are new to, and invested in learning the arcane arts, I will allow you to name a price in your gold coins, and we can haggle from there if necessary.” He gestured for her to follow him to another book shelf, moving carefully so as not to knock anything. “Shape shifting is over here. Be warned however, it is a more dangerous art than most people would assume.”

Now, maybe the demon could sense it, who knows other than himself, but Elise had a darker side to herself. Whilst she came off as caring and hyper-active, which she was, she was extremely power-hungry. Greed and Pride were her sins and she never wanted to be beaten by anyone.
Okay, that was an exaggeration but the idea was clear. Being a victim of bullying and with the strong belief that they should never have a second chance or change, Elise wanted to use her powers for good. That being said her quest for being able to take down nearly anyone that can be a threat to her ideology, was a toxic one. Any way she can get more powerful and she’ll take it.
“So, fire is clearly my weakness, being an Ice and Water user, so is there anything that can help me with that?”
While Bao could get a general sense for if someone was good or bad, or at the very least had ill will towards him, he was unfortunately not a demon who’s powers pertained towards such things as greed and pride. His powers were strictly those of earth.
“A fire repelling charm of some kind, like an amulet.” Bao mused, scratching his chin slowly. “Barrier spells such as wards... something that allows more direction of your control over water, allowing you to quench flames before they come close.” He gestured to the staff. “Staffs or wands can help with that. The latter allows for greater precision but generally buying one second hand is not advised. At least not for regular use.” He admitted, the low sound of cracking bone ringing out again as his brows furrowed in thought.
“For a more temporary solution, potions of fire resistance. I do have a draught of fire-walking around here. Supposedly it is supposed to be powerful enough that the drinker could wade through lava without harm.” He cleared his throat. “I digress, simply put, you have options.”

“Well I try not to summon demons since they all probably have their own thing going on and it is probably rude. I mostly summon animals but I keep getting the wrong ones. Or rather bigger versions. Like I go for a newt and I get a alligator…” maybe she should buy the book he spoke of just in case.
“Ah. You’re probably not being specific enough with your methods. “ Bao stated simply, snapping his clawed fingers and heading for one of the book shelves. He skimmed over the spines before hooking an old looking book out, and leafing through for a moment. “This is a guide to summoning animals specifically, the do’s and dont’s, and how to get specific types of animals, even down to sub species.” Bao informed her, holding the book out to her. “Here. Have a look. Be gentle with the pages. You pay for it if you tear them.”

“Of coarse. I don’t want to cause any trouble.” She was in awe though. The demon had a pretty good collection. “Any suggestions for a mage dabblin in summoning?” More like magic kidnappings of strange animals and people.
“To be very careful about what you summon.” The Demon responded. “If you aren’t, you may summon a lesser demon.” He remarked, running his fingers through his black furred mane. “Thankfully, for you at least, you are unlikely to summon an Elder Demon such as myself by accident. I would recommend buying a guide on the basics of summoning if you don’t have one already, and a guide on summoning dangerous beings. That way if you seek to avoid loss of limb and life, you know what not to do.”

And with that, Elise’s eyes widened and she slowly put the daggers back. “Right, I think I’ll stick to charms and my own ice magic then,” she chuckled. Yes, she knew she wasn’t suppose to touch but it was as if the daggers were luring her in. Her eyes then rested on a staff that was too high for her to reach, but her twitching ears showed her curiosity.
“So, what about the staff? Are they cursed, or just relics that belonged to a powerful Mage once?”
“A few of these once belonged to mages. That one in particular is cursed to reflect whatever spell it is used to cast back on the owner.” He explained, reaching up and taking it off the shelf, he checked over his shoulder for a moment. “For example, a simple and relatively harmless incantation, that acts as an invisible snare to trip a target.” He stated, muttering the incantation under his breath and pointing the staff at her. The crystal held in the tip seemed to glow, with the appearance of swirling smoke within the gem. After a moment he attempted to step forward, only to seemingly get tugged backwards with some force, causing him to nearly stumble and fall.
“As you can see. With a small spell like this it is relatively harmless. But say you were trying to use your ice magic to snap freeze an opponent in self defence?” He suggested, tutting quietly and setting it back on the shelf. “As you can imagine, dangerous in the wrong hands. However, I certainly have staffs that would amplify ice magic, if you’d be interested?” Bao offered, a brow quirking with a low crack.
“I will crush your skull, like gravel under boot.”

“Yeah…thanks…” The room might be small, but the vast amount of weapons, trinkets, books and charms were seemingly endless. Elise’s eyes lit up as she gazed around the room; always catching something new when she turned back in the opposite direction. Hard to tell where to start.
The knives caught Elise’s eyes easily enough, reaching over and picking one up. She was surprised by how hefty they felt. “Can I ask what makes these knives so special to ones humans make?”
The Demon chuckled. “Most of them are of human make. The main difference is that most of these are cursed or enchanted or are used for specific magical rituals.” He took a particularly cruel looking blade down from the wall. “This for example, was used by an arcane interrogator. The blade is so hot, it cauterises any wound it makes instantly.” He visibly shuddered at that and put it back. “Nasty little thing.”
“I do have a few of Elven make somewhere however... and one or two demonic. One of my fellows no longer needed them.” He admitted nonchalantly. He frowned as she immediately ignored the warning not to touch, but if she grabbed something dangerous it was her funeral. “That one you hold is an old sacrificial dagger. It was said it grows sharper each time blood touches it. In actuality it’s actually sharpened instantly upon contact with any liquid. An odd, but very practical spell.”

“Well this is official, unless I find someway to remove it. The wolf-side is…I dunno.” Elise herself didn’t know why the spirit just vanish back into her body. “Just there. I’m unsure why I’m like this myself, but it has its uses.”
Now, whilst this entrance didn’t exactly give off a homey feeling, Elise wasn’t worried and happily stepped inside; having taken in the demon’s warning. “Okay, thanks.”
The Demon nodded.”Apologies for the poor lighting. It’s necessary to avoid sun damage to some of the... older artefacts.” He explained. The back of the store certainly seemed to betray something about the establishment, it seemed two big to have fit behind such a seemingly small building. Not enormous by any means, but enough that it would have been intruding on the shops on either side.
The shelves were lined with all kinds of odd trinkets. From ancient looking books to carved skulls, some weathered looking scrolls, and all sorts of odd looking weapons ranging from daggers and knives to staffs and swords. Another cabinet was filled with bottles of strange liquids, some glowing and even pulsing, others darker than even vantablack. Bao stepped in with her, and gestured about. “Feel free to browse. I will be present if you have any queries.”
