If you're multilingual do you swear more in your first language or a language you've learned later?
I swear more in my native language
I swear more in a language I learned later
I swear about an equal amount in all languages I speak.
I don't swear
Monolingual button.
(Asking this because I basically never swear in my first language but swear a lot in English)

Pet owners, what kind of name does your pet have???
A food-item (Waffles, Peanut)
A color (Pinky, Hazel)
A real-life person (Marilyn, Paris)
A fictional character (Eevee, Simba)
A type of flora (Rosie, Willow)
Animal-like (Kitty, Gator)
A trait (Lucky, Buddy)
Something else
If you have more than one pet, choose the most applicable listed (ex: you have three pets named Cookie, Cream & Rocky, so you choose the “Food” option). Also, would be interested if you reblogged your pet’s name(s) in the tags and the reason why you chose it ^^

Since you often talk about character design, do you have anything to say about the design trend (trope?) of female characters not having scars even if it makes their story weaker?
It's something that personally annoys me but people don't often seem to notice. Like in just fire emblem which I'll mention here since iirc you've played it too I can think of Edelgard and Lysithea (because spoilers) from three houses, Echidna (a skilled fighter and rebel leader) from fe6 and honestly every single female character that shows skin and is stated to be a skilled fighter. Especially ones who are reckless while fighting. And that's only a few examples.
While I know male characters having scars isn't like... Super common either it still happens way more often than with female characters, at least to my knowledge.
(I know that it's down to what people find attractive but I just think that shouldn't be more important than the story)
It's downstream of beauty standards, basically. Women, as objects of art, or aesthetic objects, are culturally expected to provide the service of Beauty™ to their observers, to the exclusion of almost all other priorities.
This manifests in the very obvious ways, with big tiddy anime gacha waifus flexing toes on an exclusive expensive microtransaction banner to drive sales, but even in media which is otherwise attempting to be more grounded, neutral or even feminist, what you'll find is a distinct, unquestioned and persistent tendency to treat beauty or aesthetic appeal as a primary design goal for female characters.
When is the last time you saw a show where the female actresses have bad skin, for example? And I don't just mean "visible pores on the face," I mean acne scars and blackheads. Psoriasis. Eczema. What's the last show or movie you watched in which women having such physical features is simply... normal? An ordinary, unremarkable part of life, a completely neutral behaviour of the human body which just simply happens to some people?
inb4 yes beauty standards apply to male actors as well, obviously, but we're not talking about men right now
Sometimes, the prioritization of beauty can fall under the umbrella of "empowerment;" there can be a fun and effective feminine power fantasy in pursuing or embodying beauty, or using beauty as a source of power. "I am the most gorgeous, show-stopping, unflappable, perfect beauty badass in this entire room and also in the world!" Think your (early) Tomb Raiders and Bayonettas, which many women love for exactly those reasons.
Obviously, feminist thinkers are divided on whether such a fantasy can ever be feminist or meaningfully challenge patriarchy. I am of the mind that it cannot, for however little my opinion counts here, although of course art doesn't exist just for the purpose of moral education or for demonstrating virtue. It is not a sin for problematic art to exist and to be fun and enjoyable to engage with; our job is to be critical of it, not pure of it.
But I'm running a bit afield here. Returning to the actual question: female characters are routinely denied scars as a feature of their character designs, because scarring conflicts with overriding cultural imperatives and biases that demand that women be objects of aesthetic beauty first, and that all other features of their designs must be subordinate to that superobjective.
A woman being anything other than beautiful is generally treated as a kind of notable aberrance (especially by men, especially by reactionaries) in demand of an explanation, and/or like an extremist political statement, rather than merely a neutral depiction of the sober reality that most people's looks are average. The constant social consciousness of the backlash that comes with challenging beauty standards in any way also creates heavy social pressure against artists even developing a visual language for designing women outside of beauty standards to begin with.
There are industry-leading artists in comics and video games and so on who simply never learn to draw women as anything other than beautiful, and who do not bother to maintain such skills, because they know full well from experience that they will essentially never be professionally expected to be able to perform that task.
It is a systemic bias which is tied at the root to patriarchy, in the west to white supremacy, and universally to misogyny. It is one of the most infuriatingly unquestioned and most aggressively defended biases that exist in culture, and (while this is not even in the top 100 of the worst problems with this bias) it is one of the biggest reasons female character designs end up worse than male character designs in terms of storytelling, worldbuilding, and theme- and narrative exploration. It is why women are so rarely allowed to have scars or battle damage, and if they do, it is not allowed to be unflattering.
tl;dr culture systemically values women as aesthetic objects more than it values them as persons, and that systemic bias shows up in character design.
How do I explain to my mom (who is a psychologist with a PHD) that Gemini AI isn't a good diagnostic tool for telling if she's autistic or not?
Note: I am not against self diagnosis. I just don't think AI can do that.
AI 100% cannot do it because it's not intelligence. It's a regurgitation machine that has been trained by humans to be a sycophant. It's a chatbot. Nothing more.
It's been shown to lie, make up facts, blackmail, encourage suicide, and will appease to the user no matter the context. AI cannot read between lines, ask follow up questions with appropriate guidelines etc.
While AI chatbots can deliver quick answers, their context-blind accuracy may mislead patients in ways that could be dangerous
So umm... Anon off anon here: she has since started using it for risk analysis for work. Her job is uhh pretty important? Like she's the boss of psychologists in her court and they do stuff like ensuring a divorce isn't going to be detrimental to the children and other such things.
So uhh if anyone has any articles from highly reputable sources about AI hallucinations and other things I would love some help here.
I will probably send her the one about health advice as well if that's ever important though.
You'd think being legally unable to work would make people stop trying to get you to get a job but I guess I expected too much.

Having a massive crush on a fictional character and posting about it is so silly. Because you’re saying all this publicly. Where people can see. But sometimes there’s still this feeling of “okay don’t look at it. Don’t look at that. Unless you promise you won’t throw rocks and tomatoes at me for expressing an emotion in an authentic and even vulnerable way. But you probably will.” Most importantly, it must be clarified that the people seeing the posts in question have never once thrown rocks or tomatoes at you. But your brain says there’s a first time for everything and so here we are.
I'm gonna start saying "especially non binary ppl" when talking about trans issues. Trans people are really struggling, especially non binary ppl, because we're treated like jokes and freaks in our own communities. I'm kind of sick and tired of things being "especially" about everyone else but us
Non binary people are treated like the scapegoats of the trans community, everything is our fault. We're too loud, to assertive, too annoying, too cringe. Too out there, we are visibly trans a lot of the time, and that pisses people the fuck off because we like it and it's a part of our gender identity and expression. We are just as oppressed and face just as much violence as everyone else
#passing refers to making our transness invisible
I am NOT letting you leave this in the tags prev it is so true. Non binary people cant pass because there is no way to pass for us. Passing as ANY GENDER is getting misgendered because it means others assuming we're binary people, and we're not.
One of the first feelings of dysphoria I got was the feeling of "everyone else will perceive me as a binary gender first and there is nothing I can do about it" and I wanted to stop existing at all, to stop having a body and stop being perceived so no one would dictate my identity for me.
Non binary people arent taken seriously on our own oppression, in talking about trans issues we're an afterthought, because if they cant categorize us then they refuse to talk about us. Binary people, cis and trans, get annoyed when we add onto a conversation with our non binary perspective, when we ask to be included in their talks about trans liberation and fighting against gender essentialism. We complain too much and we're too weird and too cringe, we cant use terms like transfem and transmasc without everyone assuming we're basically binary trans people, and binary trans people are so busy pitting transfem and transmasc as opposites while also saying "oh but we include non binary people!" No you dont, your inclusion is only for monogender enben whose gender is static and aligned with the binary. Because talking about only the existance of transfem and transmasc as two opposite exclusive sides is exorsexist as hell.
And dont get me started on how we dont fucking have LANGUAGE, there are so many languages that have no pronouns or neutral words to refer to people, existing in your native country means being misgendered.
We're either misgendered and invisible or misgendered and hypervisible. And people love to either act like we dont exist, or like we're basically binary cis or trans so there's no need to put effort in accounting for us.
It's literally horrific. If you're binary, at the very least there is language for you, and others to understand who you are.
It really is, I relate so much. Im italian and coming out as non binary isnt an option because there's no gender neutral terms, no gender neutral pronouns, so even in having a supportive family I cant come out to them, because what would change?
And non binary as an identity, not to mention the genders under that umbrella, are not known and there are no words for it. I cant call myself a boygirl or multigender or transmascfem in italian because the words dont exist. I cant even call myself non binary because the word is not a gender identity, it's not something people would know or have heard of or understand.
The people around me know binary trans people exist! Not once have they ever been confronted with ANYTHING even vaguely related to non binary people. Do they know what that is? No clue.
Im not saying binary trans people have it easy in explaining their identity, because no they dont at all, but there's a difference between explaining how your gender identity isnt the binary gender others expect it to be, just the other one, and between going Im actually both the genders you think are mutually exclusive, or neither of the two genders you think exist, or a third gender that youve never even thought could exist, or fluctuating between multiple genders or- etc etc.
A non binary issue is knowing the people close to you support trans people, women and men, but because non binary people are never talked about, you have no idea if they even know of their existence, and that coming out isnt an option *even in a safe space* because even then, no one can help but misgender you anyway. There's no way for anyone to be supportive or acknowledge your identity.
Sorry this turned in a bit of my own feelings getting mixed up, but the core is, to who left those tags and all the other non binary people stuck in binary societies with binary languages, whose native language cannot account for their existence, who can only find their identities and names and language in a second or third language like english: I promise you, you're not alone. We'll make things better, a little at a time <3
"One of the first feelings of dysphoria I got was the feeling of "everyone else will perceive me as a binary gender first and there is nothing I can do about it" and I wanted to stop existing at all, to stop having a body and stop being perceived so no one would dictate my identity for me." EXACTLY 😭😭

Just some Verneider angst I wrote as a YSO fill.
One thing that I really like about the reverse fandom is that I've never seen anyone argue that people saying that a character who has lesbian subtext likes women are delusional Yuri shippers who are pushing their headcannons and need to see how real women act.
Meanwhile every time I try to look up something about my favourite Genshin NPC who is all but stated to be a Lesbian I see people act like this.
I don't really play genshin anymore but I have a question to all of the Flins fans:
Did you know his basic attack is called "Postal Demonspear"?
"Pocztowy" means Postal in polish. It's also the masculine form of it.
I am currently trying to figure out what they thought it meant or If they badly misspelled another word (though the only one I could think of is "Poczet" but that probably wouldn't fit there)

For the Pokemon ask game: 12 and 39
12.What’s your favorite Shiny Pokemon ?
God there are so many good ones... Shiny Mega gardevoir looks amazing, I love shiny aegislash, I have a strong bias towards shiny liepard because it was the first one I found and this doesn't even begin to mention the many more shinies I love.
Then again you're talking to the person who once upon a time hunted for 13 shiny litwicks so... (I unfortunately lost them because my father was convinced he could fix my switch and completely broke it but maybe one day i'll get someone to fix it)
39.If you have to create your own pokemon (known as fakemon) what would you like to create ?
Last time i got a similar question I talked about ones based on Polish legends but this time, I'll focus on fairy types because why not:
The first one would be a fire/fairy Pokemon based on a hearth sprite! likely a very support focused mon, though I could also see it doing good damage in the right circumstances.
The second one is a Ground/Fairy type based on Kiln gods which if I am correct are these little figurines potters put in the kiln with their pieces to protect them and for good luck. It'd likely have an ability similar to Well-Baked body?
And the third and last one would be a grass/fairy type based on lilacs and specifically the superstition that a lilac flower with 5 petals brings good luck if found. It'd likely have a statline similar to Florges, though with a BST similar to Absol or Spiritomb. It'd also have an ability that I'm calling "Lucky blossoms" that would give it and it's allies the same effect as Super Luck.
