Marcus Pierce stared at the file in his hands. Some times he hated working in homicide. Heaving a sigh he closed the file and headed out into the pit where he looked around. Who could he trust to be his partner in this case. It was a sensitive case as such he needed to take it himself.

His eyes lingered on the glass of the forensic lab and he sighed again as he made his way over. He regretted sending Decker out on a case with Lucifer already. “Lopez, are you busy? I have a case I could… use your eyes on.” He kind of hoped she was busy.

Seeing that there was very little on her table he knew his hope was going to be crushed and he’d be stuck with her. She was going to be like glue. Never leaving his side. He frowned harder at her.

Ella was just finishing up with the paper work on a case that Dan left for her to work when she heard Lieutenant Pierce call her name. She couldn’t help the grin that formed on her face as she spun around.  “I’m not busy at all, Lieutenant, what can I help you with?” she asked brightly as forced herself to walk, not skip or run, over to him. 

Ella knew Pierce seemed constantly annoyed but she knew deep underneath he was upbeat person and she was determined to help him feel comfortable enough to let it show. Of course she was still working on getting the warm and fuzzy feeling that Lucifer seemed to keep buried deep out in the open.

Marcus tried to not let out a sound of irritation after only a second of working with Ella. He’s seen the little hop to her step and already knew he was in for it. He knew she was one that was very peppy and joyous and had seen her trying to get Lucifer to let his emotions out, but he himself wasn’t that kind of person. Millennia of trying to keep his everything inside least he end up with a pain that would be as long lasting as he had him hard to get to.

Decker had nearly succeeded and the moment he had decided to get back with her rather than leaving her be his mark had come back and he knew it was because he didn’t deserve to be free of it. “Calm down, Lopez. THis case is a simple in and out don’t get too excited.”

Marcus Pierce wasn’t in the mood to be messed with today. The perp he’d caught had nearly gotten away and in the end Marcus now had a throbbing head and the man was in interrogation. Now though he had to deal with everyone else.
