A reunion and a fever. This marks the end of second of three chapters of my 2014 graphic novella The Pestle. I’m still proud of this work, dear readers, despite the amount of progress I have made as an artist and as a storyteller in the intervening time. I am aware that were I to ‘redo’ this comic, I would have made many different choices and the end result would likely be more attractive in several ways, but looking backward with regret is a sure road to madness. My intent is to share the third chapter with you all later this year, and conceivably a bit more of my work from this period and later. We will see what the fates have in store. Longtime fans will likely already have the handbound edition in their possession, but for those of you who haven’t yet read this tale of woe, I present to you the first three pages of Part II.
