1928 Incredible Poiret purple evening gown. It is a sleeveless black chiffon with a deep V neck bodice covered in purple sequins and decorated with pearl and crystal beads, having silver bicone beads to the neckline, armholes and in scallops at the waist. It is worn over an underdress of pink satin overlaid with silver metallic and black lace, the skirt of sequined spear shapes with banded tips separated by wide rounded purple chiffon gores over a black chiffon skirt with off-set sequined bands and beaded hem. The waist and hem decorations are studded with large paste jewels. Label “Paul Poiret a Paris”. From Kerry Taylor Auctions.
