These photographs where created over a six month exposure. The streaks of light are a daily record of the sun traveling across the sky. You can read the sun's path from summer solstice to winter solstice. During the six month time these can cameras had to endure hot sun, freezing cold, rain, and vandalism. The second fleet of cameras are currently documenting the winter-summer solstice.

Little Dix Bay Wedding
From time to time friends of ours ask us to photograph their wedding.
When this request arises we usually refer the bride and groom to a fellow photographer who exclusively shoots weddings. Still, after offering a referral the wedding couple sometimes prefers having a close friend handle the photography. It was a small private ceremony at a family member’s home by Little Dix Bay in Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands. We arrived in the evening during an almost full waxing moon. The Rosewood Resort on Little Dix Bay ended up being base camp for the wedding party. Days were spent relaxing in the pristine waters of the Virgin Islands while the evenings were full of laughter and stories of years past. Saturday’s sunset marked the beginning of the ceremony which took place by the infinity pool. The house itself was beautifully decorated and included a fountain in the foyer. Once the vows were completed fire works shot into the night sky signaling the good news to the rest of the bay. After the dancing, food, drinks, and cake everyone hiked down to a small private beach for a bonfire that the constellation Orion watched over. Having the opportunity to document this event was a pleasure and we hope you enjoy the sampling of images.
Large data centers are industrial in scale and can use as much power as a small town.
This facility has allowed zero minutes of downtime a year for the last 8 straight years. Massive computer systems and servers are housed here. This particular data center has robust infrastructure to maintain the level of climate control, power, and data communications necessary for modern needs. Rooms of lead batteries and a bank of 4 V-16 diesel electric generators allow the entire building to operate independently in the event of a power outage. These systems are implemented on a regular schedule to address and fix any weaknesses. The amount of capital invested in data centers of this magnitude is astounding. As the internet becomes more and more of a commodity these commercial storage operations are also sure to grow in value to investors.
Multifamily Real Estate has kicked off 2014 with a flurry of projects.
Projects in Greenville, Charlotte, Anderson, Myrtle Beach, and metro Atlanta have kept our studio on the road all month.
Construction of the Old Cherokee County Courthouse was approved in1927 and completed in 1929. While the white marble courthouse was underway, the older red brick courthouse burned down in 1928. It is located in the city of Canton Georgia which is the county seat for Cherokee County. It has seen many court cases and criminals over the years. There are many stories of attempted escapes from the fourth floor jail and tomfoolery from prisoners. One story tells of three prisoners trying to escape by repelling out a window using bed sheets as rope. The make shift bed sheet rope tore during the escape resulting with two broken ankles for one of the escapees. Another humorous story involved Judge Mills observing a new DA. Judge Mills herd a squeak and at the same time noticed the jury was distracted at the sight of a six pack of beer being hoisted up outside the east windows.
Capital Market project kicks off our 2014. This five building office park surrounded by multifamily and single family homes is in the Bulkhead district in Atlanta. Adjacent to the office buildings is a wonderful public park and pond with walking paths.
Multi Family Markets have been incredibly active this year. Apartment complexes of all styles in the southeast have kept us on the road more consistently in 2013 than in the past 5 years. The volume of projects has covered various types of facilities: Historic Lofts, Mixed Use, New Modern, Student Housing, and Traditional. Assignments have been all over the southeast. South Carolina has been the most frequently visited state.
