I feel like I had responsibilities but I've gotten to the point where I've forgotten them all and am at peace once again
Me: Often doesn’t text back becasue I’m socially exhausted, depressed, too scared, awkward or I just forget
Also me: Gets upset when people don’t text back because I always think everyone hates me

Adhd be like
Me wandering aimlessly back and forth for hours in a set path: oh god im an npc
Objective: Do this ONE thing that will take 20 minutes max.
My ADHD brain:
Before we do the thing, I just need to tidy my bedroom for 30 mins.
I’m just gonna clean the bathroom, will take me half an hour TOPS, then I’ll do the thing.
Just gotta vacuum and take the bins out, then I’ll do the thing.
Ok, I’ll make a light snack, nothing fancy, eat it while watching an episode of something, then once the episode is finished, I’ll do the thing.
*3 episodes later*
Well now I need to wash up and clean the kitchen.
Ok, I’ll do the thing after my shower.
Ok now it’s too late to do the thing because if I do it now I’ll over stimulate my brain and then I wont sleep.
I’ll do the thing tomorrow.
i’ll get over it i just gotta be dramatic first
i love that this is just one of a number of posts that have gone around in the last few days tacitly acknowledging that you need to feel your feelings in order to move through them
Before I started learning more about ADHD and seeing other people on here who actually have it it had never even occurred to me that there are people who can say, “I would like to do this thing now” and then just actually do the thing
ASD and ADD/ADHD solidarity is reblogging each other’s memes and posts because they’re usually pretty damn relevant to you as well.

Adhd/autistic culture is letting a song play on repeat for hours because it sounds nice™
ADHD thing where you hyperfixated so hard that now your brain is full and it pretty much physically hurts.
but you can’t just sit here doing nothing either. So you’re frustrated and bored, but your brain is full,
and you’re already too overstimulated from hyperfixating so you can’t really do anything stimulating. Or that requires any kind of coherent thought.
But you’re still unable to tolerate boredom…
maybe one of the most painfully on-brand things ive ever done is realize that have not told my best friend of 5 years that i have adhd because like. i forgot.
Adhd is copying something to paste into an email to yourself but getting distracted before pasting.
This is what happens to kids with ADHD who, instead of getting help and treatment, get told to try harder.
