I might be dumb but what's the difference between a raiju and a Kirin again?

Traditionally speaking, the qilin or kirin is a legendary hooved chimerical creature that appears in Chinese mythology, and is said to appear with the imminent arrival or passing of a sage or illustrious ruler.

Raiju on the other hand, is the companion (or pet) of the Shinto thunder god Raijin. Raiju become agitated during thunder storms, jumping across the landscape and buildings, drawing lightning strikes wherever its claws cut into. It's name literally translates to "Lightning Animal/Beast".
