Trunks looked up at the pile of destroyed pumpkin bits that was left by his father and was expected to do something with it? That’s just impossible!

“ I can’t carve nothing! You destroyed the whole pumpkin! We need to go to the store and get a new one! I wanna do something fun and cool this year too! I wanna carve a Sonic pumpkin, not a stabbed pumpkin! ” Trunks huffed as he took the carving knife from his father, stabbing it more as he was trying to make his point of how his mind was filled with indignation.

The amount of harsh lectures he had received from his father wouldn’t hit as hard as the one he had just given to him right at that moment. Perhaps it was due to the new addition to the family and suddenly the responsibilities of being a big brother figure has been thrown on him. 

It was something he had noticed recently; his father began to be more insistent and firm in regards of his younger, baby sister to keep her safe and well, no matter what. His words began to hit harder than before whenever she was in the picture of their discussion.

Trunks respected his parents more than anything in the world, especially his father. Vegeta was his hero figure, and he would do anything as he was told to by him, especially under that serious tone he had.

Looking down to his feet out of embarrassment from his earlier, childish remarks, Trunks responded.

“ Yes, dad. I’ll start taking it seriously for now on... ”
