No matter how suspicious you might find the neighbor who never opens their blinds, they will never be as suspicious as the neighbor who wants free reign to peek in through people’s windows.
FYI: the guy who coined the argument “if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear” was the Nazi minister of propaganda, Goebbels.
Probably not the dude you want to side with on anything.
True, but to clarify: The phrase “if you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear” is commonly associated with Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany’s Minister of Propaganda from 1933. However, the phrase’s origins are debated and it has been used by others, including Upton Sinclair in 1918, and in various contexts, including British surveillance programs.
Yeah, that exact phrase was used by Upton Sinclair in 1918 and it’s not unreasonable to say that since the Nazis generally took American fascistic concepts from the early 20th century and just went further with them, it’s not a surprise that they would’ve taken something that Upton Sinclair was using to criticize control and use it to control.

I'm gonna go check on my WIP. just in case it wrote itself while I was gone. You never know.
my daily affirmation as an author
chronic pain is kind of like your body screaming “I’m in pain” and you’re like “okay what’s wrong” and your body’s like “oh that part is actually a secret”
*Post War/Graduation*
Katsuki: I noticed you keep getting paper cuts at work. I had these made for you.
Izuku: ...Are these limited edition Pro Hero Dynamight bandaids!?!?
Katsuki: Yeah.
Izuku: I will treasure these forever! I'll never use them
Katsuki: *Smirking* I thought you'd say that. So I had them stocked at all the local convenience stores. And I brought you twelve boxes. So you can use as many as you need.
Izuku: This is the kindest thing anyone's ever done for me!
Katsuki: Yeah well this is a one time thing! Don't get used to it, nerd.
Katsuki: *Internally* Just wait until I save up enough money to buy that mech suit.
Ok but can we talk about the loneliness that comes with being chronically ill? If you’re not able to work or go to events, there’s so much time spent by yourself.
