Listen, I know we try to keep it nice on this show, we try not to be mean… this is maybe the funniest thing I’ve ever heard.
Honestly in all of these stories these poetic white men who somehow end up immortal get so bored and miserable because they just sit in their mansion all day doing whatever it is they need to do in order to sustain their immortality and then they just throw lavish parties and organize orgies or whatever and then they’re like “why am I sad I eat three course meals and have at least one orgy daily what MORE could I POSSIBLY need??”
Like???? Damn go for a walk. Do you even KNOW your neighbors? Get a dog and take it to the park. Set up an elaborate fish tank. Go skiing like you’ve been alive for 200 years and you’ve spent 180 of it in your house looking at paintings and drinking wine with other rich assholes no wonder ur life sucks my man.
Buy a canoe.
this post was specifically targeting dorian grey.
are we all gonna just ignore this
I am so excited my son has been animated~

Searching land and sea.
Before Oikawa could grab Suga and ask him the same questions, he was gone. Suga was swimming close to the beast, and almost too close the fins. He saw things happen before he could register what was happening and even before Suga was aware something was wrong.
The humans pointed in Suga’s direction and shouted something in excitement and they ran to the edge of their vessel and tossed a net over the glistening water. The whale swam away with ease before the net hit the surface. Suga appeared to be less lucky as the back of his fin got tangled in the trap.
Oikawa swam without thinking, he needed to help Suga get out of the net before it got more tangled and the humans pulled it up. It felt like he was miles away and not getting closer.
There was no word in the world other than “no” as far as Suga was concerned. No, do not hurt that whale. No, do not notice him. No, do not catch him. No, do not pull him into that net. No, no, no. No amount of “no”-ing would be enough to change how the humans would treat him. They, with their narrow eyes and fleshy faces, their stubby fingers and their too-many limbs. Their dependency on air, the strange things with which they clothed themselves, the inability to comprehend the hell that they rain upon the otherwise ordinary ecosystems.
When he felt the heavy net catch his tail, pushing the dorsal and pelvic fins hard against it and making swimming damn near impossible, he shrieked in panic. Even those humans seemed to pick up on that sound. He writhed and scrabbled at the thing which only caused it to constrict him further; he had twisted around to reach for the knots weighing down his tail fins and another heavy tangle of rope fell on top of his back, on his neck. The crushing weight was too much to bear.
All Suga could do when he was lurched by the motion of the net as it was reeled upward was tear harder at the heavy ropes and cry out in terror. He reached desperately toward Oikawa, sobbing his name so hard that his throat went sore. There was no escaping. He was headed up toward that mysterious surface. Never before had he dreaded a trip up so greatly.
Oikawa screamed as loud as he could,. He didn't care if the humans saw him too. He swam as fast as he could toward Suga, buy he fought the current from the metal fins and soon he saw Suga breaking the surface. He tried yelling again and attempting to breach the surface himself but it was too late.
The humans hauled a squirming Suga onto the beast they stood on and a flash of tail sliding over the edge was the last Oikawa saw of the other mermaid. The machine's fins turned once more and soon it was churning the waters and speeding over Oikawa, too stunned to move. If he poked out of the water there's no telling what would happen to either of them. The machine whirred past before Oikawa could even consider surfacing.
He remained in his spot for what seemed like ages m, just staring into the empty space where so much had just happened. Finally he let himself sink further down, his tail feeling heavy as it carried him back home. What was he going to tell the others? He swam onwards, hoping he wouldn't have to retell today's event.
Searching land and sea.
Oikawa had followed Suga at a distance, hoping to figure out where he would go off to from time to time. He knew Suga to wander near the surface, he had gone there himself once in a while, but he didn’t know where Suga went. He knew it was a good spot for spying on the humans, but he didn’t know where it was.
The water was pretty clear today so he was able to peer up at the sun through the surface. It was a welcome sight compared to the murky depths they were all so used to. It was teeming with life, but it was usually surrounded by some darkness. Suga was probably the brightest thing in the ocean in Oikawa’s opinion. He was always talking about the bright surface, the creatures, the air. He even said he didnt mind when it made him dizzy at times. Suga was more excited about the other world than anyone else he knew and it was beautiful. A little dangerous but beautiful.
He heard the creation before he saw it. The rumble of the metalic fins cut through Oikawa’s ears, and then he saw the thing cut across the sunlight and float past. If Suga was up there, there could be a danger. The humans on the creation were known to throw nets and yell quite a bit. He swam around looking for Suga. He spotted a familiar fin in the rocks and swam towards it, but the beast approached the rocks faster. He saw the things stop. The humans only stop that thing if they throw the net. Oikawa swam as fast as he could to try and warn Suga.
Of course humans were not like whales, which communicate easily with one another under water, so Suga had to base his inference of heir conversations on their arm motions. Only a handful were there, hovering just a few feet down, but most of them had obviously come from the same place. Vicious metal fins began to churn the water once more and the abrasions to the surface turned slowly in place. Suga silently prayed that they would be turning away and leaving, but this was not the case.
“Oh, no.”
As if the pressure was not enough to mess with his breathing, he was now so overcome with terror at the sight of the dreaded nets that he felt all of the water leave his body. If he had not kept wiggling his thin fingers nervously, he very well could have died from shock right here. He did hear a sound from behind and below, and that sound drew his attention for just a brief moment until he saw ;
“Oikawa!”
The panicked yelp came out before he could even think to hold it back. He looked back and forth between his friend and his foe twice before stumbling his way out from between the corals toward him. He took Oikawa’s arm and gripped it tightly, staring at him intensely with his wide eyes for another moment before pulling him in toward a shelf of rock as urgently as he could. Suga’s attention was still primarily locked on the nets, which now were collecting large numbers of terrified fish, but he did give at least half a thought to his friend.
“What are you doing?” he hissed. “Don’t you know that you could die up here? What are you, stupid as me? Do you have a death wish or something?!”
He dared not take his eyes off the humans and their torturous tools for fear that they would com after him next. Perhaps they had already heard his distressed whispers and - more probably - his shouting of Oikawa’s name. Suga cowered behind that shelf, tucking his tail under himself as well as he could; if he could keep just one eye out past it to see them from around the corner, that would be good enough. There was no way in hell that he would allow Oikawa to get snared by those horrendous nets. He finally risked another glance over his shoulder at the other mer, feeling his pulse rushing in his ears.
“You’ve gotta get back down. They can’t dive down to our level. Go be safe and let the others know that I’m just… just, um, taking inventory, trying to see if the colonies of anemone are growing well. Tell them that I’m, um, looking after a wounded baby shark,” came his hushed plea. Why would he not go down to safety with him? Suga could not say. He almost felt responsible for the safety of this upper ocean as well; at least, he wanted to do his damnedest to save those - oh, god, they were chasing after a whale.
“No!” came another horrified whisper. “No, no, no, they can’t hurt hose gentle things! Oikawa, go home. I have to save her!”
If Oikawa had made any response, it was too late. Suga had flung himself out into the open, barreling toward the docile creature in as sreamline a way as he could go, still praying that the humans would miss him or at least not mistake him for one of the crabs that seemed so popular by them. His armored arms were excellently reinforced for fighting off sharp-toothed opponents and making way through clouds of nearly invisible but lethal jellyfish, but they also greatly resembled a popular catch. Oh, god, he hoped that his darkish scale would not stick out oo drastically against the impossibly colorful reef behind him.
Before Oikawa could grab Suga and ask him the same questions, he was gone. Suga was swimming close to the beast, and almost too close the fins. He saw things happen before he could register what was happening and even before Suga was aware something was wrong.

{ for @captain-galaxy ! }
Being so high up in the water was risky, but Suga just needed to see the surface once in a while. Yes, it was safer to be deeper down (and frankly, much more comfortable as well - the drastically lowered pressure made him feel a little bit dizzy) but there was something so compelling about that big, bright, bizarre world up above.
Still, he hovered up fairly close to that mystical plane. He was close enough to see the almost blinding light of the sun from far, far above the ocean; the rays that penetrated so deeply only grew stronger as he swam farther up. He and his kind typically stayed at around 200 meters below the surface, where it was dim and cool and just crawling with small lives. The occasional whale was exciting to see; air-breathers were rare down that far.
Up here, however, in the delicious lightness of the upper sea, there were so many more wonderful creatures to see. It was all so bright and difficult to comprehend and could be overwhelming at times, but that is exactly what Suga loved about it. He liked coming up alone and reporting his experiences back to his friends down below. He felt so special when he knew how he was able to know and experience things that others so rarely ventured up to know.
The only thing that he really had to worry about was - well, yes, he had to worry a bit about larger fish and sharks that fed on beings like him, but even more than those, he had to watch out for the violent and unfeeling things that carried what he learned to be human beings. They so often had these propellers and fins to direct them, and if not that, these bizarre flippers that looked almost like a turtle’s. They seemed to have a symbiotic relationship that he only assumed was like that of a sea cucumber and pearlfish.
While he floated and observed the busyness of life, the sound of that awful thing came so sharply and suddenly that his gills clamped up and he scrambled toward the closest rock that he could to ensure security. Just as suddenly as the sound had started, it ended. The fish and coral which heard this sort of thing regularly continued about their business in a normal manner, but Suga felt everything in him ache in fear. There, way up over there, he could see a few of those strange looking air-breathers crash down through the surface, creating hideous tears and ripples to break its ordinary peaceful speckled texture.
This was different, though. There were several of these things on the surface. Not all of the air-breathers looked as passive as they often did. He knew that he should leave, that he should hide, return down to his home and promise his friends and family that nothing was out of the ordinary, but he just could not make himself move. Maybe that would prove to be for the better. After all, he was not as small as the other animals up that high, who could zip around and hide in a school or in between corals and anemone. For the time being, he would stay with the patient polyps and pray that this would not last for too long. If the others assumed him dead, he had no idea what they would do, and he did not want them to send a search party up with no idea what to expect up there beyond the highly biased positive light he painted the upper waters to be. They would easily get themselves killed, and Suga would not be able to stand that.
And so, he waited.
Oikawa had followed Suga at a distance, hoping to figure out where he would go off to from time to time. He knew Suga to wander near the surface, he had gone there himself once in a while, but he didn’t know where Suga went. “Oh, no, I’m sure you’d look so cute, even when dying!” Suga protested with a giggle. He laughed, twisting around in that perfect tight hug. He wiggled up to pepper his cheek with kisses, playfully refusing to let him go to the oven. Only after stealing a kiss from Oikawa’s lips did he allow the other man to go if he so pleased.
"I try to cook for us once and you hold me hostage in front of my own oven," Oikawa laughed. He leaned over to give Suga a quick forehead kiss before moving to set the table. This was a rare night where neither of them had anything going on and Oikawa wanted to make it special, therefore he decided cooking was in order. It was a simple dish, but he was excited to share it with Suga for the first time. "Alright, I think it's all done!" He pulled it out of the oven and brought it to the table. "Bon appetit!"
