I’ve read ... Batman: Birth of the Demon

Fan of the Marvel Universe, I have decided this year to embark in the discovery of DC Comics. With the help and advices of an addict friends ( @chameleongarden, a big human DC encyclopedia), I choos to read the Batman’s comics. But i choose to read them in the chronological order of the events who built the universe and the popularity of Bruce Wayne. So ... What is older than a demon ? 

Ra’s al Ghul. A name that resonates in any comics reader’s head, even the pro-Marvel like me. I’m a fan of the CW Tv series Arrow so I know a little bit about this vilain. His birth, long before Batman, is the first chronological entry point of my Batman Read Adventure. On the program, the first use of the Lazarus Pits and the origins of the man now world known as the Head of the Demon.

And finally, despite the low presence of Bruce Wayne, the story remains attractive on paper. Ra’s al Ghul is obviously one of the most iconic vilains in Batman Universe so I entered in the reading with beautiful hopes.

And if the concept chosen to tell this epic story is interesting via the exchange between Talia and Batman, I admit I have been little disappointing at the end. Perhaps the expectations were too big but i had the feeling to read a story cruelly lacking of depth and originality to narrate a story of such an iconic character.    

I appreciate the shade of yellow and green to characterize the apparition of the demon, it was a good inspiration for me, paying tribute to him and imposing him really as “different from the others” in this read.Nevertheless, the drawing and the approach chosen also struggled to hang on to me.

At the end, i hope more stories will complete this character and I am curious to see if it will be better because I admit to being slightly left hungry by this first appetizer.

Paige gonna get mad!

Hi TV Addict,

I watched "The Americans" episode of the week and when Paige is in training with her mother, the eyes of Holly Taylor looks very angry.

Am I the only one who think she wants send his kick on the face of Elizabeth at the end for all the things she has live because of her ?

Maybe we can think that Paige gonna make trouble soon or later this season ! I have this feeling !

One thing is sure, don't mess with the spy kid ! ;)
