âWhen did you become the sage of our generation?â
Well, Iâm Socratesâ brotherâs nephewâs great to the thirty-first power grandsonâs best mate thrice removed. Also, I think too much.Â
hestiajones:
âBut it works for you, does it not?â
Uhhh... usually.Â
hestiajones:
âWell, I donât mean to sound arrogant, but Iâm fairly confident I know it all.â
Iâm alright at faking it.
sturgispodmore:
âAnd just⌠talk?â
Yourself through it, yeah. To someone youâre not going to hold back from.Â
I was talking to the Friar once about unfinished business. I was curious, you know? What stops a person from crossing over? Sometimes itâs not much, mate. Sometimes it has nothing to do with their lives, it has to do with other peopleâs. What they still have to offer someone else. So I guess Iâve had it in my head for a long time that if someone is gone then they have nothing else to give, and I still think thatâs true, but only in a physical sense. What they have left is what you take. Thatâs alright.Â
sturgispodmore:
I wish I were joking.
sturgispodmore:
âFor starters⌠That I didnât seem to care how he felt about me until now.â
So go talk to him. Kinda one-sided. Kinda the best youâve got.Â
sturgispodmore:
âRobert King is deadâDorcasâs friend, the one who loathed me for whatever his reason was. I keep overthinking every decision Iâve made.â
Well, thatâll drive you crazy.Â
Which ones stick out?Â
hestiajones:
âBut youâre very good at faking it, which is impressive. Besides, Iâve heard that if you can master the vocabulary of something, you can master the subject as a whole. My anatomy professor at the Institute used to tell me that, but that may have been because her course was entirely vocabulary, so whoâs to say?â
Depends on how much you know about anatomy.
sturgispodmore:
Whatâs going on?Â
sturgispodmore:
âAnd, what, sink her? Then who would I come to for advice?â
Yeaaaah. She knows more than anyone Iâve ever met, too.
hestiajones:
âI donât know whether or not I should believe that, as confidently as you just used it.â
I can tell you that a pliĂŠ matters in ballet, too. Doesnât mean I know what it is.Â
sturgispodmore:
âOh, I have fun. I make it work.â
âAlright. Anything else, Captain Higgs?â
I believe it.Â
Take over, if you want.Â
hestiajones:
Hestia giggled in spite of herself, and quickly hid her laughter behind her hand. âAnd what, pray tell, is a downward dog?â
 Iâve no idea.
sturgispodmore:
âClapham. And everywhere else but here, apparently.â
So, no where fun.Â
Yeah, not until I winterize her. Untie that for me?
sturgispodmore:
âIs it too late in the season to take her out?â
@captainbertie
More importantly, where have you been all my life?Â
hestiajones:
âWell, itâs definitely cold season,â Hestia sniffed as she tossed yet another tissue into the trash and made her way to the sink. âMine came early this year, but I havenât been able to kick it just yet.â
Did you know muggles have a nozzle they stick up their nose to drain water through their brain or whatever? Itâs a yoga technique. I donât know what that has to do with turning your body into a downward dog but alright.Â
loriorpington:
Lori smiled, a tinge of guilt colouring it. âSomewhere we can see the stars without all the lights. Where it feels as though weâre utterly alone.â
Untie that line to your left.Â
