Hi, this is Eason with another muse of mines. Everyone’s favourite, most beloved Blue King Munakata Reisi! Please give this post a like if you want a starter from me. I will try to get to it ASAP. I’ll limit it to 3 for now. Cast members are excluded from the limit.

After about a few days the about/rules pages are done so I guess I’m good to go!

PUSHING DAISIES .                                 ( @captainmegane )

                      Falling. 

          The feeling of falling was an uncomfortable one. It forced subsequent feelings of helplessness, a longing for impact, a fear of the unknown and what was coming once that impact arrived. What alarmed Mikoto the most about this feeling of uncontrolled flight through darkness was that he shouldn’t be feeling anything at all. The injuries he had suffered no longer hurt the way they once did, a dull ache replacing what had originally been excruciating pain. He couldn’t see anything: his eyes wouldn’t budge no matter how hard he tried to awaken, and the constant warmth that surrounded him was gone and replaced with an empty cold and senseless feeling.

When the impact came, it nearly knocked the wind out of him. Breathing deep, Mikoto coughed as he felt a sharp pain in his side. He didn’t recall suffering any injuries there, but he’d been falling for so long he wouldn’t be surprised if he had forgotten about a past wound. Slowly, he was able to move a hand, although his body felt stiff as a board. Finally gripping his side, Mikoto breathed out heavily, a small grunt of sound pushing past chapped lips. He hadn’t spoken in so long. His throat felt dry, lips cracked and motionless. Aside from the pain in his side, he couldn’t feel any other pain in his body. 

It was then that Mikoto noticed the sound. Rustling leaves filled his ears, a distant roll of the ocean in the background as well. He heard movement nearby, but he couldn’t bring himself to move his head. Was someone there? 

The whole ordeal felt troublesome. When Munakata had killed him, Mikoto had thought he could finally get some real rest. He’d never died before, so perhaps this is what happened when death claimed someone. He had nothing to compare it to. Curling his fingers into his side, Mikoto felt the pressure increase and confirmed that this was real, although he couldn’t help but wonder just what the fuck was going on.

It has been a while since the incident that left a huge emotional burden on Reisi.

How long has it been? Months? Probably a year but it all felt much, much longer than that, he thought as walked along the pavements near the seaside.

The unexplainable weight that tugged at his heart was overbearing, but not something Reisi couldn't handle on his own.

Was it the burden of murdering a fellow King, or was it the fact that he murdered his friend? 

Or was it both?

Suoh Mikoto was dead. The violent Red King that had caused him so much trouble over the past few years had ceased to exist, and he could not stop him from meeting his demised fate.

As much as he detested the redheaded delinquent, he does not believe that Suoh deserved to die.

Those painful memories still lingered in the captain's mind from time to time. Images were vivid as if they only happened yesterday. The sound of his sabre piercing, the brilliant red that stained the very surface of his blade. The distant chants from the Red Clan. They were all but clear in his mind.

He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, letting the salty breeze from the ocean envelop his lungs in an attempt to clear his mind. It wasn't the time to be dawdling in the past. Nothing could change the fact that Suoh Mikoto was dead now, and he would never see him again.

... At least, that is what Munakata Reisi had believed all this time until a distant grunt caught his attention.

His eyes widened in shock and surprise when the figure seemed all too familiar. That characteristic grunt, the spiky red hair, the black, leather jacket and that necklace.

"S-Suoh?" Reisi said slowly in disbelief. It was simply far too extraordinary and frankly, impossible for this to happen. His logical side was denying the sight that was presenting in front of him, deducing him as merely a doppelganger or Suoh's long lost twin brother. However, a small part of him actually wished this is the same Suoh Mikoto that he knew.

"Here, I made some cupcakes for you." (They're all burnt, rip)

Just when Reisi thought he was going to have a peaceful evening all to himself, what greeted him instead was chaos.

The first of which was the foul smell that enveloped the apartment the moment the captain walked in. His body quickly reacted by coughing in an attempt to expel the smell of something... burnt?

“Suoh Mikoto. What have you done this time? Have I not warned you about the consequences of-”

Reisi was about to continue on with his lecture before he was interrupted midway through by a sight that he could probably never erase from his mind. No, it wasn’t the sight of badly burnt cupcakes. That does not even come close to the sight that surprised the otherwise agitated male.

The sight of seeing Suoh Mikoto wearing a pink frilly apron was the main shocker of the evening.

“S-Suoh?” Reisi said slowly. He couldn’t believe he actually stuttered. The shock was far too astonishing that it could’ve cracked the lenses of his glasses even.

“What on earth, if I may ask, are you wearing?”

"To me, you’re like blue."

To Reisi, he could almost never understand the mentality that was held deep within Suoh Mikoto. Yet, at the same time he actually could. This was one of those rare if contrasting instances that left him blinking in confusion.

Suoh was a man of few words. Far fewer than any, in fact. This contrasts greatly with Reisi, whose words are lengthy, but clear to many. It was a miracle that the blue-haired captain was able to comprehend the Red King sometimes. Perhaps they weren't as incompatible as he had deduced.

It doesn't take Reisi long to eventually figure out what the other truly meant. For once, it wasn't an insult nor an attempt to irritate him, but rather an honest opinion in general. For Reisi, that was already a definite improvement. He couldn't help but smirk in response, pushing his glasses upwards so that it sits on the bridge of his nose firmly.

"As the Blue King, I simply could not be more pleased to hear that, especially from the Red King himself."

To me, you’re like that sinking disappointment and dread you get after eating three Big Macs and an extra large fries, with a milkshake. - Jason Todd c;

“An interesting, although rather unusual insight.” The bespectacled captain chuckled in amusement. The metaphor was odd, and Reisi wasn’t sure if he quite understands the literal meaning of that considering it sounded far-fetched and seemingly incomprehensible.

Reisi himself had never really tried any sort of fast food before, so that may be partially the reason why he does not truly understand the true meaning behind this absurd-sounding metaphor. Does fast food really induce such emotion so easily as the younger male had suggested? Perhaps an experimentation is in order.

“I shall take your words in mind and experiment it myself.”

          Mikoto fought the urge to sigh loudly, although it would have been a very exasperated one, cut with all the attitude such a careless person as himself could muster. Instead, he simply shifted on the couch, sitting up this time. He slumped lazily, wanting more than anything to get on Munakata’s nerves by being in his space. The way he was now, caught in some kind of dance between being dead and being alive (as far as he could tell), Mikoto felt like being around the other king was the easiest way to live. And it came with the added bonus of irritating the other, which was always amusing to watch. 

“’Marginal’?” MIkoto scoffed, shifting so that he had one leg resting on the other, head tilting back over the back of the couch to watch the blue haired male. Despite his tone he looked vaguely amused, “can’t ya just be happy I got you something at all?”

Truly, it wasn’t in Mikoto’s nature to give anyone anything, except maybe a headache. He continued to watch the other, purely out of boredom, since he had nothing else to do really. Without the entirety of HOMRA running around, he had little to do besides skulk around the city and invade Munakata’s personal space. Which is what he was doing now.

It was indeed surprising for the blue-haired captain to receive a gift from a man that does not seem to give a care about anything else. But that does not warrant an automatic approval of him illegally coming into his apartment without his prior permission. It was his personal space, after all.

For a box of chocolate sample, it certainly does taste better than Reisi would've anticipated. Considering the other's homeless status and tendency to smoke cheap cigarettes, he picked a surprisingly good quality of chocolate that satisfied his taste buds after a long day at work. He was sure that the chocolate wasn't anything special, yet the taste was alluring and simply wonderful.

"Oya, are you not satisfied that I've given you a praise?" Reisi couldn't help but smirk in amusement when Suoh complained about his choice of words. It was a mild improvement, but he wasn't about to let the other have his gratification simply because of a box of chocolate.

"I am pleased, and perhaps pleasantly surprised, if I may say." The captain said. "However I do wish that you would refrain from entering my property unannounced and uninvited from now on."

"Band-aids don't fix bullet holes."

"Indeed. If relationships could be fixed as easily as plasters fixes bullet holes then it would be a peaceful, joyous world. Sadly, reality simply does not allow us to fulfill such an optimistic ideal.”

"To you, everything's funny. You got nothing to regret."

“Perhaps so.” Reisi chuckled at the other’s response as he held yet another puzzle piece, trying to figure out where to put the piece onto the board. 

One of his deepest regrets were not stopping the Red King from meeting his inevitable fate. He did what he could, but it was all in vain. That was the one regret he had a hard time letting it go.

The burden of murdering another King was indeed heavy as they say. But the burden of murdering your friend was heavier.

“It is only wise for one to let go of their own past at some point.” The bespectacled captain smiled, albeit his fists tightened considerably that he hadn’t noticed until he snapped one of the puzzle pieces into literal pieces.
