Punish the rapists!

Dear compatriots (and friends from the other countries - from translator)! In the night from September 23 to September 24, 2014 in the city of Novosibirsk(Russia) a 16-years-old girl (Anna Shatova) was violently raped by the group of men who acted under a preliminary conspiracy.

Six young men invited the girl at their place, all of them were called her friends, among them was Anna’s boyfriend.

Those bastards drugged her and then one by one violently raped her while she was unconscious. Need to mention that these people were putting in her such things as a lighter and an alcohol bottle.

These actions they pictured on camera and posted it online, humiliating the victim even more. The most awful part is that they’re not feeling themselves guilty at all, on the contrary they’re blaming the girl in all what happened.

All guys have reached the age of majority (the petition was written just after the first word was spreaded, now it is known that one of them is 20-years-old, the others are 15-16 y.o. - from translator) but the police do not take any actions because all of the guys are from rich influential families (also upd. investigation has started now, the information about families is not confirmed)

The crimes that they have done and time in prison that they will get if you won’t look away (according to The Criminal code of Russian Federation):

Article 131. Rape. A term of four to ten years.

Article 137. Invasion of Personal Privacy. (probably - add. from translator)

Article 151. Involvement of a Minor in the Commission of Antisocial Actions. Punishable by compulsory works for a term of 180 to 240 hours, or by corrective labour for a term of one year to two years, or by arrest for a term of three to six months, or by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to four years.

Article 228. Illegal Making, Acquisition, Storage, Transportation, Sending, or Sale of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances. Punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term of up to three years

Dear friends! Together we can stop this impunity! It could be your friend, sister, colleague, etc. At this moment the poor girl is absolutely broken, not surprisingly as you can see, after this her reputation and mental health are going to recover very long time! Anna’s parents live in Kemerovo (Russia) and Anna with her grandmother live in Novosibirsk. It’s a huge tragedy for the whole family but if we think enough - we are all one big family.

I am calling for everyone who wants to help, who know what she’s going through right now, do not look away!

UPDATE: As I mentioned the petition was written shortly after the incident, all information we had was spread by rapists who had the nerve to make fun of it. But later Anna posted a message on her Vk-wall not long before she deleted her account from Vkontakte. She said that blood test haven’t showed the presence of any kind of drugs.

More than that I think it needs to say that her mom knew about what happened to her daughter from phone pranksters(!). Somebody thought it was funny to mess with poor woman. But after those bitches heard how real a mother’s pain is they started to give advice and persuaded her to write the complaint to police.

A rape was committed in russian town Novosibirsk.

Student invited his girlfriend at a party, where five his friends awaited. They made the girl drunk, filled her with drugs, and then - severely gang raped her. They were raping her whole day long. After they tired of it, they threw the girl out in the street. Gang rapists made photo and video of their crime. They found it amusing to start posting this inhumane materials in russian social networks as Vkontakte etc. They even put the rape video on YouTube (for now it is deleted). And as if that was not enough, after the girl applied to police claiming rape, they stroke a bullying campaign against her. Hundreds of thousands of russian boys and girls, knowing about what has happened only from the rapists’ words, started victimblame the raped girl. They even created communities, claiming for the girl to be punished and for the rapists’ - to be freed. And what about the rapists? They joked on their profiles Vkontakte on what they have done. They got all the support they need: their families support, money, lawers advices. They looked like they know they’re not going to be jailed not now or ever. And what about the girl? She was frightened and threatened by the bullies and their friend just like her mother. They did their best to make her refuse the rape claim. Why? Because here, in Russia, people don’t believe that women’s bodies belong to women. Most of them think if a man rapes a woman, it’s only her fault. And if she is bold or desperate enough to go to the police, people will turn their back on her. Because they believe that a rape is only a victim’s fault. Especially if a victim is a woman. From Russian Feminist community we speak to the world, to every single one it may concern: please, don’t let this terrible crime be forgotten. Don’t let bullies ruin a sixteen years old girl’s life. Please, help this girl and every girl and woman in Russia, which can be raped and then blamed for this. Repost this article and make the world know that is happening here.
