Lightning’s lips pursed when Kovu told him that there were nights he didn’t sleep at all, “Sounds like you’ve got excess energy to burn, you should join the lions and me during our Quidditch workouts.” It was true, on days with practices, Lightning was out like a light. “A couple of hours of practice and youll sleep like a baby.” Now he couldn’t help but laugh, “You know, if the face workouts aren’t enough for you.” And Lightning began to stretch out his face, with what? Scary faces, but of course! He contorted his expression in every which way he could think of.

“Slytherin and Gryffindor hanging out? This school would have an uproar. It’s best we keep our little interaction, and any future interactions, our little secret.” He playfully winked and grinned. His grin was quickly followed by a laugh and his hand playfully pushing away Lightening’s face. “What are you doing?” He chuckled, lightly.

“Glad to meet you, Kovu,: Lightning moved his legs, “The usual, couldn’t sleep so I figured I’d work out.” He laughed at himself, the other didn’t know it but that was actually pretty predictable. “Yourself?”

Glad to meet you. Kovu smiled a little more, thinking it sounded rather nice to hear someone say it like that. “The usual, I don’t sleep at night. It’s a real curse during the school year, really. Sometimes I just don’t sleep at all.” He opened his eyes now and looked at the other. “Technically you’re working face muscles and what not when you’re talking to me. So you haven’t gotten distracted from that just yet, in case you were a little concerned about your working out thing and all.” He grinned.

Yawning, Lightning decided now was an appropriate time to introduce himself. “I’m Leo, by the way.”

“Leo.” Kovu opened one eye and glanced over at the other, “Nice to meet you, Leo. I’m Kovu. What brings you out tonight?”

Lightning wasn’t one to boss people around, at least as long as they weren’t one of his players. Obviously, Kovu was not. He handed what remained of the cigarette back, thinking that it was strange that he cared about the guy’s health. “Don’t say I never did anything nice for ya, yeah?” He acted as though he wasn’t smiling, but Lightning wasn’t mad, either.

“Yeah, yeah. In return I’ll give you something too. Anything you want, of course.” He took his last hit, closing his eyes as he did so. It really did feel great, the last hit of a smoke, it was refreshing in a way. He leaned back and looked up at the sky as he awaited the other’s response.

“You’re willing to pounce and fall off this tower over this cigarette, that mind you has basically burned down to only a butt while we’ve been talking?” A mild shade of impression cross Lighting’s expression, although he if the other said yes Lightning would immediately call him insane. He leaned away more.

“Damn straight I will. It’s my last hit and damn it I will have it.” He shifted closer to the other, his hand reaching out for the smoke. “Always save the best for last. Don’t let me miss out on my best hit, mate.” He looked at Lightening with a small smile.

Now that was refreshing, and Lightning even had half a mind to say so. It was nice once in a while to meet someone who didn’t want to give the Quidditch star the time of day, not because they hated him for being on the Gryffindor team, he was a pureblood, he was a blood traitor, or for some other reason, but (at least it appeared to Lightning this way) for the sole fact that they did not care who Lightning was at all. “No.” Lightning leaned more forward, holding the cigarette as far from the other as he could. “And neither are you.” A smirk overtook his face – he was a little shit.

Kovu’s eyebrows furrowed as Lightening’s words set in. “Oh yeah?” He leaned forward more, closer to the other, his body shifting a little now. “Are you sure you want to play this game? I will pounce. I promise.”

Holding up a finger, a chuckle escaped Lightning, “Good point there, my friend.” Originally he had planned on dropping the smoke, not caring what happened to it once it hit the ground (or perhaps an innocent bystander). However, he stopped once the other noticed his awkwardness. Lightning was far from nervous, his fine motor skills just seemed to be lacking the coordination to hold a cigarette butt (or write legibly with a quill, for that matter). “I was just up here on a broom, I think it’s safe to say it’s not the latter.” Laughing, he waggled his brow, “Is there something me and my unwanted company should be nervous about?”

“Oh yeah, you were.” He lightly giggled, unbeknownst to him that he had done so. “I would say me, normally, but normally I would also not be giving you the time of day. You just seemed to have caught me on a good day, I guess. That or I just think your pretty face is too pretty to be mean to. Hm. I guess we’ll figure out which one it is as the conversation goes on, won’t we?” He glanced down at the smoke nd then up at him again, “You going to take a swig of that, mate?”

Lightning was not a cheater – regardless of the Hufflepuffs and their ridiculous accusations after Badger Lion Quidditch matches. Instead of listening to the stranger slander his name some more, Lightning made a quick nose dive towards the closest entrance to the castle. Armed with a shrunken broom in his pocket, he walked all the dang way to the astronomy tower. Now, as if there was no pause whatsoever, he picked up the conversation with the stranger right where he left off. “You did not ask nicely if I would like to breath in your second hand smoke, friend.” He flashed a smile and reached out to grab the cigarette, holding it awkwardly in his hand.

“Oh, uh, okay bye.” He replied when Lightening was suddenly diving towards the ground. Kovu curiously watched the other stomp inside the tower. He wondered for a moment if he was seriously stomping his way up here, and a small smile appeared on his lips at the thought. However before he could continue on with his thoughts the other was suddenly next to him again which caused him to jump a little and then laugh lightly. “Well to be fair you were not invited to my roof time, so we are even.” He gave him a gentle smile and handed over the smoke. “Do I make you nervous or is it the height?” He asked, noting the awkwardly held smoke.

Lightning was out for a morning jog – part of his daily routine – when his particularly gifted sense of smell picked up the scent of cigarette smoke. Yuck, he thought. He looked about for the source and saw it was someone lighting up all the way at the top of the astronomy tower. Summoning his broom, Lightning made his way up to their height, what his plan of action was still not even clear to himself quite yet. “You forgot to ask nicely.”

Kovu was never one for unwanted company, and usually, when the boy was this far away from civilization as he could get, that is exactly what he least wanted. However on this particular day he did not feel rude, though h was certain that’s the way his next couple of words came out as, “For what? Also, you take the fun out of ignoring people when you use your broom like that. That’s cheating.”

Kovu sat peacefully on the edge of the Astronomy Tower’s roof. The sun seemed to finishing up it’s round on this part of the earth, with a light summer breeze, as he stared out into the horizon. A smoke burning away in one hand.

I'm sorry for going M.I.A guys. The play I am stage managing and apart of is in tech week with only a week left of rehearsals before opening week. It's insane. I'll try to be on more but my activity will pick up after the 27th.

It’s quite alright, but you’ll have to introduce me to those “good” stoners as you called them. Last time I encountered a stoner they were as high as the sky and spilled a bottle of firewiskey all over my clothes. I couldn’t get the smell out for a week and all my teachers thought I was drinking!

It’s kind of a guilty pleasure? *chuckles, bringing up his cup* A toast!

Care of Magical Creatures has always been my favorite class, because the idea of having something that actually depends on you to live is something I enjoy. If you can’t find me up here I’m with Queens in the infirmary. *Sips on his hot chocolate as he listens to Vixey talk, nodding when he felt appropriate. He grinned when she finished but once he realized he had to spill a little about himself too the grin quickly changed to a smaller grin, pretty soon fading.* Uh, well, I guess it’s only fair. I wouldn’t call my family massive and I also wouldn’t call it much of a family. I have two siblings who both attend Hogwarts, but I don’t get along with them very much. In fact we would definitely murder one another if we had real reason to. My mother is an abusive alcoholic who, despite making me her favorite, despises me the most. Or so it feels like. Believe it or not, I am all about History of Magic. I love learning about the history and the wizards who helped magic become what it is today, and where magic started from. I guess that’s why I’m a nerd for the Wizarding cards.“ He snorted. “I can be a gentleman but I am not one on a regular bases. My humor is sarcasm. I’m neither straight nor gay nor bi. I just like people, though I lean towards the fellas way more. I don’t think twice about forgiveness, because it’s not something I was raised up to do. The name Morph and Monty circled around in his head. It was a name, and nickname, he would never forget. How could he? In less than twenty minutes the two had already shared laughs that felt like they had known each other for years; old friends reuniting or something. “I like both names, but I’ll call you Morph since you seem to favor it. I’m Kovu, just Kovu. Some people call me jackass, asshole, that guy, animal hair dude, and my personal favorite, who are you?” He grinned. “You’ve seen me too? Oh good. I’m glad I didn’t just come off as creepy or something. Ahhh, an older student. Hmm. Isn’t that interesting? So what’s it like being a seventh year? Do you get perks?” He curiously asked, tilting his head. When Morph grew serious so did Kovu and he looked around, thinking that would answer the question, “I don’t think so? But I know of a store in Hogsmade that does. ” A smirk slithered on his face as he turned to give Morph a mischievous look. “But are you willing to sneak out with me, Morph?”

Monty wondered if this Kovu realized what effect he was having on him, because Morph’s minute smile continued to be plastered on his face as the other spoke. At the mention of animal hair, he morphed a lion’s mane on top his head. Of course this transformation only lasted a few moments, as it was hard for the seventh year to concentrate in the presence of the other. In fact, now now he was laughing, “Perks? Like what, being stressed beyond belief over NEWTs?” Really, Morph wasn’t, but NEWT level classes were much harder than he had anticipated. He shrugged, “Seventh year dorms have the comfiest beds.” Boldly, Monty winks. Although he did have to concentrate on keeping his skin tone his usually paleness until he knew his natural blush was gone. Luckily, his confidence grew with Kovu’s last question and the blush soon vanished. “Lead the way, Kovu.”

"Are they? Maybe you can let me test that theory out for my own conclusion very soon, hm?" He teased the other,wanting to see him blush once more. However his teasing was tossed away the moment Morph transformed his hair and instantly Kovu's eyes widened with amazement. "Holy...that's awesome! I wish I could do that with my hair too. Can you transform into people as well?" Kovu didn't know much about that ability but he did find it fascinating beyond belief. "I always lead, never follow. But..." he smiled, "I'd follow you. You seem like you're a good person with a kickass personality." He led the way down the corridor and out the main doors of the castle. Once on the grounds he looked up at the starry sky, "Tell me about yourself, Morph."
