What are people’s favorite comfort foods from around the world?

I’m planning on potentially making/starting a restaurant that focuses on comfort foods from around the world and I want more opinions than what I think looks good (I’m a white person with a terrible spice tolerance and I don’t want to be accidentally racist/cultural appropriation/generally insensitive to other cultures) I’m trying to get some from each continent (excluding Antarctica for obvious reasons) I’m being kinda general/can’t do every country/culture but a variety would be nice (especially when considering what can be done in large batches/in a restaurant setting)

Also, I still need to do school/get my degree, get more experience, do the things needed to start a restaurant (which while I’ve started school, this is still gonna be a hot minute) but ideas/recipies would still be appreciated just for the sake of expanding my cooking abilities and tastes (like increasing spice tolerance/learning to be less picky)

HUGE fan of this recent thing we're doing where Adrian is, physically speaking, wayyyyyyy out of Rocky's league.

Like what do you mean of course they have the most gorgeous voice ever which to sound-based Eridians is basically the equivalent of why-the-fuck-arent-you-a-supermodel.

Of course they had sooooooooooo many mating/courting offers and gifts and love letters sent to them while Rocky was away (but they of course stayed faithful and weren't having any of that shit).

Of course Rocky forgot to mention to Grace their size difference and that Rocky is by Eridian standards a tiny little twink and Adrian is a giant also so when Grace meets them he's looking UP because they're less of a rock and more of a boulder.

Grace making huge advencements in the Eridian medical field.

Turns out there's a childhood disease to the tune of measles that erodes the carapace, and the first symptom shows up about a week before any actual damage is caused.

Grace comments to Rocky that one of his students seems to be turning oxidisation-green. About a week later that student has to be hospitalised for this illness.

Eridian scientists realise pretty quick that Grace can detect the illness long before any of their equipment can, and when caught that early it is much, much easier and safer to treat.

Not only is Grace celebrated in the scientific field for his knowledge and for his part in saving the world, he becomes a beacon of hope for doctors and parents and children on Erid.

He never stops talking

They get back to Erid and Rocky introduces Grace and Adrian to each other

And over the first few weeks that Adrian is observing them together, they hear Grace's non-stop yapping

And they just take a moment, and then with nothing but unrestrained (slightly fond) horror, they go "Oh my god there's two of them"

i headcanon Adrian to be an environmental landscaper and architect, who designs clothes for fun because they're just that talented and badass. they spearheaded the making of Grace's biodome and his erid-cultural closet lol

with the abundance of digital material they have on the hail mary, i am 101% sure ryland got a hold of crappy jokes and started reciting them to rocky. rocky now thinks that human humour is full of dad jokes.

james ortiz says he decided to characterize rocky as really anxious and neurotic and the directors said that’s a big part of why they chose him. ryan gosling decided to play grace as scared and avoidant towards everything (alien ship, alien message, working on the task force, talking to stratt at all).

taking these (fairly) calm and cool book characters and making them extremely nervous is one of the things that really makes the relationship & entire movie work. and the fact that both actors decided to do this independently before ever meeting is very funny to me.
