Frozen to the Core |Hook - Emma|
October had hit hard for Storybrooke, usually it wasn't even this cold in Boston. Emma could easily remember the nights there and how it felt comfortable usually. But despite the cold that whipped about the air now, she had been out at the docks on the edge of town. Lately everything had been going pretty well. She had her parents now, after twenty-eight years. Plus her son and Regina was leaving him alone. For this she was thankful and finally happy.
Standing upon the docks her hazel eyes closed as the moon reflected off of her blond locks of hair. A few tendrils swaying in the wind as it rushed past. Tightening her arms below her bust she let a small shiver roll through her form. The temperature seemed to be dropping faster than it should have been. She didn't know why, maybe it was just her so she tried to ignore it. Opening her eyes she peered out at the water as the moons rays bounced off of it. It seemed peaceful and relaxed her more. A small smile slowly crept across her facial features as she watched the small waves rippling back and forth.
The longer she stood here, the calmer things became until it felt like she had fallen into a silent trance. Thinking back to everything that had happened lately, both good and bad in her life. It wasn't until she came out of the light trance that she felt her hands turn numb within her gloves. Unfortunately the feeling didn't stop there. It seemed to spread from her hands up her arms and ultimately into her chest and work its way down. Almost like magic was slowly working through her body, but this wasn't her own doing and no one else was around. So what was this?
Emma had no explanation; she just knew it couldn't be good. The sudden need to find someplace warm burrowed its way into her mind. Making a sharp turn in direction of the town, she paused. Granny’s was too far away, this odd feeling if it was a spell it would freeze her solid by the time she reached her destination. The only other option, the one thing that was closer was right next to her.
Glancing from the right side of her visage she frowned. ‘No. You can’t go in there. What if he finds you?’ *Well it would be better than freezing to death!* ‘He’s a pirate, you can’t trust him!’ *What other choice is there? He can’t be that bad* ‘Have you really forgotten everything? All the lies, the tricks, the games? What about the giant? Aurora?’ *This is different.* ‘How is this different? You’ll be in his ship! He can do whatever he wants in there! No one will think to come looking for you here.’ So many thoughts in her head, as if she were arguing with herself mentally as the cold continue to work its way down her limbs and into her toes.
Taking in a deep breath, Emma let it out slowly and forced herself to move. Walking up the wooden plank that led on-board of the Jolly Roger that Hook owned. God, this wasn't a good idea and she knew that very well. But freezing? That wasn't really something she wanted to do and this seemed much more acceptable? Was that right? Well she hoped it was because the urge to find warmth was growing even stronger within her mind now.
Making her way across the deck her eyes skimmed the ship. She had never been on board before, not yet. But scouting and searching for anything interesting would have to wait. It didn't take long before she spotted what appeared to be the door to the captain’s cabin. “There you are.” Trailing towards it she went to open the door only to find it locked. Frustration left from her lips as she sighed and slammed her palm against the door with enough force to make it open under the pressure. Though only a ‘thud’ was made from the contact. The result had caused her to jump a bit but she quickly calmed herself and hurried inside. When the door shut behind her she turned her head and fell still. She had to remember that she was on Killian's ship now, more importantly, in his chambers. He could be anywhere and was probably well aware of her presence by now.
Moving her hand away from the closed door Emma continued to look around before spotting what appeared to be his bed. Maybe a cot or something? Killian probably slept on better that much was true, but she wouldn't know it. Not yet. Shrugging her shoulders a bit allowing them to roll, she made her way towards it before kneeling down to reach out and grab the available blanket. Rather quickly she wrapped it around herself while kicking off her boots to let them fall on the floor as she climbed onto the bed. As she sat there in the warm fabric, her body continued to give off small shivers. Her grasp on the sheet was so tight her knuckles where now white. It just wasn't working, his blanket. It made her groan softly in irritation and frustration. There was one other thing she could do, but Emma would be damned if she were about to take her shirt and pants off in his cabin. However her subconscious seemed to think otherwise. *If he hasn't shown up by now, what makes you think he will just because you’re trying to survive and get warm? Either warm up or possibly die!* Sadly Emma couldn't argue with that logic, even though she really wanted to. Dying just wasn't an option, not yet at least. So instead of letting herself stay as she was, she released the blanket slowly and moved her shaking hands to her shirt. Gripping the bottom of the fabric she pulled it up over her head and let it fall to the floor a moment after. The pants she was still a bit hesitant about. This was not a good idea. There was no way in hell she’d do this otherwise. Or she wouldn't admit that she might in other situations. But in the last month or so she had learned that sometimes one had to do what they didn't want to in order to survive. Letting out a small sigh her fingers undid the clasp of her pants as she shoved them off, kicking the last pant leg off she quickly darted back onto the bed and curled up in the blanket one more time. The warmth now working slightly better, since the cold clothes were off, though she still had her undergarments on.
