While Clone Wars 2003 was finishing production, George Lucas changed his mind about Grievous being so agile. So they added a scene at the end of the 2D series where Mace Windu force chokes Grievousâs chest. Thus explaining why Grievous is coughing and can barley walk in Episode 3.
In other words: Lucas got upset because someone could play with his toys better than he could, so he broke them.
