Karkat unlocked the front door of the house he shared with Jade, three plastic bags full of food in his hand and little Roxy standing next to him. He called out for his roommate as he walked in.

“Jade? You home? I’ve got stuff to make dinner.”

He left Roxy in the living room, pointing her over to the couch so she could watch a movie or something. Karkat then knocked on the door of Jade’s bedroom, expecting an answer from there.
