Be prepared for this impeccable pop tune by the young singer SODY. It’s not very innovative and the lyrics aren’t anything special, but damn it gets under your skin!!! SODY’s husky voice is definitely an extra asset. To be able to reveal this song as a first single, gets us very curious what else she can give the world. We think she won’t disappoint and that there’s a place for this young singer between Halsey, Britney Spears and Elle King. May the odds be ever in her favor.

If you’re looking for music that goes perfectly well with a good glass of wine and a hot tub, don’t look any further, because this is it! The Canadian band Emilie & Ogden will make sure you hold your breath under water and have a quiet foam party. It’s the combination of the angelic voice of Emilie Kahn’s voice, the subtle harp chords and the smooth beats that does it. We chose to present “What Happened” on here, but honestly, we could have put the whole  “10 000″ album on here.

= DISCOVER = Coming back to this blog with a stunner. Jorja Smith is a female singer from the English town Walsall. Yet her sound is very universal, think of The Fugees teaming up with Destiny’s Child. In her first single “Blue Lights” she impresses with slow rap as well as with her perfectly controlled singing voice. Smith is picked up soon by various blogs and has already got some airplay at BBC Radio. Make sure you listen to her now before everyone else knows her.

This is the perfect tune to celebrate the start of the weekend. We’ve been blown away from the first note by Namesake from a this young American called Tunde Olaniran. With a clever combination between electronics, r&b and pop music, he’s like the male combination of Missy Elliott, Santigold and Robyn. He’s just released his first album Transgressor, not all tunes are as good, but there sure is a lot of promising material. Coolio! And also: YES weekend!

Day Wave is a DIY-project by the young Jackson Phillips. His songs have a weird combination of American surf rock and melancholic Brit-pop. Phillips explains by telling he’s inspired by New Order and Joy Division and as well as some of the more '60s pop like the Beach Boys. The result is a melancholic, yet danceable EP “Headcase”.

Be prepared for a voice that will give you one-hour goosebumps. Vita and the Woolf is an electronic soul pop musical group from Philadelphia. The band name was inspired by the love relationship between novelists Vita Sackville West and Virginia Woolf (1st reason to love this band). Much of the music is vocal driven and includes a wide range of harmonies. Many have compared Jennifer Pague's voice to that of Florence Welch (2nd reason to love this band). The haunting harmonies and vocal layering combined with crazy instrumentation and simple drumming produce a sound that reflects R&B, soul, jazz, and powerful choral ballads. (3rd reason to love this band).

Time to get poppy all the way, with the duo Louis Vivet. Louis Vivet is an electronic music project formed by Nicolas II and Aria S, inspired by the first patient diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder (aka split personalities) who shares the same name. LV's sound has clear influences from Deep/UK house, downtempo, and pop. When they aren't producing or performing, you'll find LV working on new graphics or visuals to enhance their live shows. In Sophia, a remake of Miike Snow’s version, they add some clever beats and give the singing voice to unknown singer Jordan Humphrey who absolutely kills it.

Kuoko is a former member of the German duo Parasite Single, who we blogged about earlier. Now, Jasmina Quach has chosen to go her own way and presented her first single “Beets in the Backyard” which is less danceable than the Parasite Single-work, but more laid-back and dreamy. We particularly love the ‘papa papa papapadaaa’ bit around minute 1.48. Childlike but fun! Fans of CocoRosie or Ibeyi should definitely check her out. She’s releasing new material in the near future.

Growing up in a small Ukrainian town outside Kiev, this remarkably gifted pair of sisters was determined to head into the outside world and make an impression. Bloom Twins moved to London to improve their art and the culture they found shocked them; coming from such a different background, they felt disconnected to the materialistic lifestyle and grew more and more committed to each other and their music. In 2013 they signed by WME and are now working on their first album.

We’ve received a great tip from a friend who introduced us to this new exciting rap / r&b band Towkio. Living in Chicago they sing and rap about life there and they've had collaborations with Chance The Rapper and Lido so far. We especially love “RN” it because it has some very awesome background sounds. Also because it builds 38 seconds up and then holds an amazing energy throughout the whole song. Red bull is nothing compared to this!

The band name of Arctic Lake is a huge contrast with the warm voice of the singer, but let this not be a reason not to listen to this awesome band. Arctic Lake is a young band from London who has just released their second single “Only Me”. The slow drums, subtle electronics and airy voice remind a lot of London Grammar... maybe a bit too much? It still makes us wonder what they’re capable of in the future. We rarely use capitals but... THIS IS A BAND TO FOLLOW.

The Danish duo Rangleklods has been hanging around in the underground for several years. Yet, we do expect that with their new album “Straitjacket” which sounds a little poppier than the old one, they’ll get far more popular. The band excises out of one guy (Esben Andersen) who offers us original electronic sounds and warm main voice and one woman (Pernille Smith-Sivertsen) who takes care of the drums and smooth backing vocals. Today, they’ve released a new song “Schoolgirls” which remembers of the ‘80s just till the moment you hear some awesome mechanic tunes around 3.35. Top notch.

Time to introduce a new electronic project to you! Freelance filmmaker and composer, Samuel Aaron Bennett, aka Wales (NY, US) and his excellent debut track “Lose My Mind” were introduced by Tei Shi during her recent takeover of Gorilla Vs Bear. The song was co-produced with Yellerkin’s Luca Buccellati and meets SOHN and M83 somewhere in the middle. It’s melancholic but those synths make you start daydreaming in no time... especially in the very last minute. Bet we’ll hear more from Wales in the future!

Jidenna is a young rapper from Brooklyn, NY, who was taken under the wings by Janelle Monáe. Their first collaboration “Yoga” was released yesterday and is danceable as fck! But also without Monáe’s help he knows how to make a song that guides your feet to the dance floor, which he proves in his 1st single “Classic Man”. So go ahead and go wild.

Little artists get noticed when releasing there first song, but SIVIK (CA, US) was able to draw everyone’s attention right away. Already trending on HypeMachine, this mysterious artist from LA released ‘High’ only a few days ago. ‘High’ is one of the best electropop-songs we’ve heard this year so far.  Accompanied with a strong bass, you hear the sensual voice of SIVIK which sometimes reminds of ... Michael Jackson! Big comparison, but we’re sure MJ wouldn’t mind.

The Easter bunny comes a little earlier this time with a fine tune in his pocket by a soulful Londoner, Tev’n. This guy is still unknown to the bigger public but is well-known in the London R&B scene. As a producer, he has already teamed up with A$AP Rocky and helped to the great debut EP by Celeste. As a singer, he has only released a handful of songs, which reveal a soulful voice à la Kwabs and why not, Usher.

Okay! So song is made by a 19-year-old musician, called Amber, who calls herself The Japanese House (UK). Didn’t expect a one-man’s-project of a young woman, did you? With this song “Pools to Bathe In” (her 2nd single), she remains us of Alaska in Winter. It’s a dark, airy pop song that contains various levels. The will appear on The Japanese House's debut EP, due out via Dirty Hit (Ben Khan, Wolf Alice, etc.) next month.
