I’m still trying to recover from COVID with a major convention coming up next week (Motor City,) and I’m pretty exhausted.
My personal assistant is moving on. After more than two decades of my work ecosystem being wound up with someone else, it’s wigging me out a little bit how much clean up there is to do.
With someone else having full access to email accounts, social media, etc. and having accounts set aside for their own use besides (not much money in working for me, but you do get free Youtube Premium,) there is a LOT of stuff to review, remove, and secure.
One of my email accounts was compromised recently, and I had to export important stuff and shut it down. There was a huge attack on one of my websites too, so that also meant changing account info. I can’t get into a couple of my software accounts at all, and with one of them coming up for renewal, that’s going to be fun. I have a feeling I’ll be on hold on the phone for a long time.
I can certainly see how much of the daily little stuff she took care of, and I truly appreciate it all.
We didn’t really have boundaries here between personal and work because we are high trust and have been around each other a long time, even though most of our collaboration is long distance. So, it’s meant digging out stuff that was work related from stuff that was personal.
My PA just wants to concentrate on her own writing. She’s been a great friend and I hope she does well in all her future endeavors.
