I keep thinking about the fact that Walter Jr. literally LIES when he calls the police in Ozymandias!!! He tells them that his dad pulled a knife on his mom!!! Which isn’t 100% false as Walt did get his hands on the knife eventually and looked like he was maybe about to use it (it’s hard to tell exactly, it all happens so fast), but it is deeply misleading. After seasons of Walter Jr. continually siding with/valuing his father over his mother (I don’t fault him for this, he’s just a kid and he was missing some very important information), when his parents’ conflict comes to a climax, not only does he physically insert himself into their fight to protect Skyler, he also has the courage AND moral strength AND presence of mind not only to call the cops but to unhesitatingly lie to them. Yeah he’s still not working with completely accurate information here since he thinks Walt killed Hank, which isn’t literally true, but tbh it’s close enough to the truth so who cares. The point is that with the information he now has, he makes the right choice. Anyway I love that kid more than life. I’m his father now.
