Cards Against Humanity is a party game for horrible people. A black card is drawn, and the idea is to play (a) white card(s) to come up with the funniest, most horrible answer or completion to the sentence that you possibly can. It's like Apples to Apples for adults. At pyz.socialgamer.net, you can play this horrible, wonderful game online. A fun addition is that you can make your own custom expansion packs for the game! The purpose of this blog is to compile cards for a Homestuck expansion pack. It's a massive undertaking that we can't complete alone!
Please check out the links above to see what you can do to help!
I'd love to send suggestions in for you. My friends and I play a lot of Cards. I think one of the black cards that should be in there goes without saying. "A young _____ stands in his ______." Another black card: "I WARNED YOU ABOUT THE _____ BRO. I TOLD YOU." Also "IT KEEPS HAPPENING" would be a good white card.
Thank you!! All of those have been added to the card lists. (:
It all began on a warm (maybe) September (I think) night in 2013. A small group of friends were playing Cards Against Humanity together online. One of the cards (perhaps "warm, velvety muppet sex") caused someone (me) to exclaim "we should make a Homestuck expansion pack for this game!"
And, as they say, it all went downhill from there.
The purpose of this project and this blog is to collect and compile ideas for cards for a Homestuck-themed Cards Against Humanity deck, which, upon completion, will be added to the online CAH clone, Pretend You're Xyzzy. This way, people will be able to use the Homestuck pack online to play with friends or strangers.
Some expansion packs on PYZ have as few as 1 black card and 8 white cards, but due to Homestuck's massive length and fandom, the goal is to have at least 50 black cards and 100 white cards - though double that would be better, and more than that would be better still!!
Here's what you can do to help us make this happen:
Go play a game or two of Cards Against Humanity. Yes, believe it or not, this will help you help us out! If you're familiar with the game, you'll have a better understanding of the type of humor we're looking for (hint: dark).
Submit ideas for black and white cards ("questions" and "answers").
It's that simple! It's our job to compile and organize everything and get the custom deck added to the game, but a group so small can't come up with enough cards for the truly glorious deck that Homestuck deserves. It's a huge undertaking!
Have fun, and we look forward to hearing from you! We're all really excited to get this project underway!
