Watching season 4 and 5 of TVD and the Steroline potential and hints are ✨sublime✨

The problem with Steroline was never that it was forced or shoehorned in with Elena gone, it was that instead of going down the beautiful slow burn, built on a solid friendship route that they had been, they rushed it.

Making Caroline obsessive and pushy (which is but not like she was in season 6 and not with Stefan) and worse, making Stefan cold and avoidant (a total u-turn from his usual compassionate self) threw their dynamics.

IMO, they should have kept building Steroline through season 6-early season 7, and had them get together in late season 7-season 8 and it would have been perfect.

I still don’t hate that it happened, but I don’t love how they look something that was actually so so good and had so much potential, and just squandered it.

(Then again, better off than Klaroline…)

People trying to make Steroline and Delena sister ships back in the day were so out of line. I just heard Hypnotic and was thinking about how we had to share the Stefan "I'll wait for you" declaration with that dumbass Delena dance scene.
