My final piece for Dialuci week!! I unfortunately wasn’t able to finish my Favorite AU piece, but it’ll be out eventually. For now, enjoy my “I Do” drawing!!
I love writing marriage AUs for these two and I love medieval illuminated manuscripts, so I combined the vibe of the two for this simpler piece :p
I imagine this taking place under the shade of the apple tree that Diavolo planted for Lucifer centuries ago, in one of the IDO timelines where MC is happily married to one of the other brothers. Either Mammon or Satan for narrative reasons, or Beel because he’s my fav >w<
Dialuci Week 2026 has been such a treat to participate in. I’m so so happy that I not only got an excuse to write and draw about my OTP nonstop, but also that I got to see all of my socials flooded with everyone else’s lovely contributions. I was obsessed with the Addams Family when I was 7. Honestly if I had to dissect my tastes, I would have to say that show was probably one of the ones that changed my brain chemistry for couple character dynamics and acquire a permanent taste for Silly Gothic (looks at Obey Me).
While Gomez treats Morticia like royalty, they operate as equals. Their dynamic is defined by unwavering loyalty and mutual respect (sound familiar?)

on a trip to the human world, Diavolo and Lucifer snuck off for a little “private meeting”. it seems they lost track of time, and they were barely able to recompose themselves before meeting back up with Lucifer’s brothers. but if Lucifer’s glare is any indication, his brothers will spend the rest of the day hanging from the ceiling if they mutter so much as a word about that conspicuous blue lipstick.

for the first prompt, secret relationship, I drew something semi inspired by that one chat where Lucifer was going to sneak Diavolo away to get fast food. I imagine Lucifer flying up to Dia’s balcony, but the two get a bit distracted before they can leave 🤭 also mini comic on the side because I will not miss an opportunity to put Mephisto in the cuck chair.
A private meeting to hide a secret date, all to hide a secret relationship (barb definitly knows, he’s just letting them get away with it this time). there’s layers to this shit!
On the surface, dialuci seems like any other ship you'd put together from brazen chemistry and canonical hints. But it's only as I'm attempting to leave that I realise how many niches they effortlessly have in their arsenal.
They're fallen angel and demon, a classic religious au trope since dawn of modern fandom. They're enemies to lovers. They're best friends to lovers. They're prince and knight, leader and devoted follower. They're classical and modern. They could be fighting a war together one night and having ice cream in a quaint human-world shop the other. They play chess together in the morning and go to 80s rock concerts in the evening. They have ancient tea recipes followed by whatever abomination of an ice coffee MC has to sell to them (courtesy of Solmare). They're ballroom dancing at an RAD event and breaking it down at The Fall on their off hours.
And most importantly, they're somehow one of the least toxic couples in the entirety of Interesting Queer Ships in recent media. Despite the very shallow surface-level premise, they actually don't have that many concerns to work past. They don't have the very common trope of one person being designated as the one in control. They don't have to be toxic to be interesting. They genuinely care about each other and aren't hesitant to show it (Lucifer is, but Lucifer is hesitant about showing anything to anyone, so I will not consider him.)
I know every ship has its own unique qualities, but the most surprising thing to me is that this ship came from an otome dating sim. And is possibly the single most supported character/character ship in the OG games to the point of generating mainstream conflict.
